    • Mz Socially Awkward… February 5, 2013 at 3:11 pm

Are you honestly joking? You do realise she is Ghanaian, right? Not from your village or L.G.A or anything like that?

Have you ever heard Ghanaians talk?? This is how they pronounce certain vowels & words and if the tables were turned and someone foreign criticized, oh lemme see… lets say Nkem Owoh’s pronounciation of English words, I can see all of Nigeria rising up in arms chanting “English is not our first language”. But that’s typical of us, abi? Too busy mocking or laughing at the peculiarities of other cultures to care.

      • mimi February 5, 2013 at 4:45 pm

        lol breathe!

      • Sonia February 5, 2013 at 10:56 pm

        LOL. Drink water.

It wasn’t even Joselyn’s pronunciations. And so what if I make fun of the local GH accent? Are you the ambassador for GH accents? olodo lol

      • Vashti February 6, 2013 at 12:59 am

You’re right. That’s how Ghanaians talk.

i think that pink dress is just really badly fitted – it could have done with taking in at the waist to prevent those gathers and letting out at the hips a bit so that it doesnt look so clingy in that area.

    • Anne February 5, 2013 at 2:19 pm

If the hips is fake how will she lose it? By reducing the implant? Unknown growing up in Ghana, she disappeared to America for a couple of years and returned with those hips and you know how that can work magic. She’s a ‘celebrity’ now abi?

      • AKU SHIKA February 5, 2013 at 6:51 pm

her hips is not fake. maybe you need to look at a high school picture of joselyn and a friend posted on facebook to confirm that her hips are real. she was a teenager at that time but you could still see her hip through her school uniform. the thing is this lady gain so much weight and hips when she had her daughter. she once shared her story about how she struggle with her weight and how she was so determine to loose weight. it took a lotta work and determination for her to get her body to where it is now. she said she used to weigh 280 pounds after she had her baby. now she says she weighs about 156 pounds. check her twitter pics, you will notice that she works that body out a lot. i have a cousin shaped like joselyn. no matter how hard my cousin works out, her wide hips stays the same. moreover, nobody knew this lady until she returned from America to ghana to pursue her dream career so dont make it seem like you knew her before she disappeared to America. Girlfriend left Ghana for the US after high school and from her high school picture that i saw, she still had her hips and small waist except she was a little bit chubby.

  • Tim February 5, 2013 at 10:54 am

    Totally fake and boring.

  • Funmi February 5, 2013 at 11:15 am

People, at least, give the lady constructive feedback. Comments about hip fat, fakeness and phonetics do not exactly give specific ideas for improvement. I’m not even going to go into the dumbass randomness of the hip fat comment since everyone is entitled to their opinion, however IQ-deficient.

About the show… The bubbles that kept coming up in the corner were annoying; especially with that sound. This is not Dora the Explorer; that effect gives the show a Nickelodeon vibe. Also, for upcoming shows, a script or prompter might be useful because you could tell that she was talking off the top of her head and was struggling at some points. It felt a bit random at times. However, I think she’s very personable and has a great look and voice for tv. She would make a great talk show host if the show itself was better produced.

    • Que February 6, 2013 at 11:44 pm

      Second that!!

The show can use a lot of pre-planning…it need not be all scripted, but a lose script should be on hand to direct the flow of her yarns. Seemed quite random @ times.

She sure is nice to look at n I like her voice n how she speaks- she makes it feel like she could be ur girlfriend chatting wit u @ home.

Lastly- I’ll seriously pretend she didn’t just suggest brazillian hair as vals gift—*straight face*

  • Sweetie February 5, 2013 at 11:21 am

  • Lele February 5, 2013 at 1:07 pm

Really? how can u comment on her hips, do u want her to cut it and give it to u….smh, anyway i agree with Funmi on the bubbles, lol on the Dora the Explorer, lets see wat the next episode has to offer……….all in all, its a good start oh and Funmi, she is a talk show host….she has a 5 season talk show still running

  • Margarita February 5, 2013 at 1:26 pm

She’s a ghanaian, so she wasn’t faking the accent *rme* to support lele, should she cut off her hips and give it to u? she has a nice shape but the dress was just wrong.

  • m.h February 5, 2013 at 1:37 pm

Those hips! Father lord..that is all I see

  • Alero February 5, 2013 at 1:38 pm

Hi Joselyn, the Pillow talk is a nice concept. I think u should spice it up with some of ur friends.Maybe a few of your friends, and chat about dating, relationships and stuffs. You could also have like an “agony aunt session”.

    My 2kobo.

  • Chic February 5, 2013 at 1:51 pm

She needs to approach a battabox style more unrehearsed street interviews with random people and less talk from her. Some of those people interviewed look like they were prepped and they rehearsed their answers. Maybe a co host every now and then as well. Looks promising but it was a tad bit boring for a pilot episode and maybe shorten it to between 5-10 minutes. Joselyn please watch “stereotypes” on YT to get a hang of interviewing random street people and Battabox videos those ones crack me up. But Ghana is beautiful and clean sha!

  • nich February 5, 2013 at 2:48 pm

floorless beauty and nice skin…….come is jocelyn really single………………point of correction she is not faking any ascent……..that is how the ghanians speak…………..i noticed that the ghanians look more healthy than nigerians that are always looking hungry…………….talent combined with beauty is really powerrful………….i wonder how men resist this lady………

i do not mean to compare but i thing linda ikeji is also a star that we will get to see in the coming years…………i really love this programme and i hope to keep watching it………..for some reason i tend to love it more than the other lady’s version toke

    • what February 5, 2013 at 10:47 pm

      Hi nich..its ‘flawless’ dear….

    • Sonia February 5, 2013 at 10:57 pm

Linda Ikeji is a bigger star than Joselyn Dumas my dear. You must be Ghanaian.

  • Amanda February 6, 2013 at 12:22 am

people are funny.. u left the topic of discussion and started talking about hips.. *sighs* nways.. i enjoyed it and look forward to many more episodes! all the best to her

  • Vashti February 6, 2013 at 12:57 am

Nothing fake about her accent. That’s how Ghanaians talk, especially, the well educated ones who speak well. Get that right.

  • Msunderstood February 6, 2013 at 2:33 am

Boring! I’m sorry, I like her but it was Boring. Capital b

  • AKU SHIKA February 6, 2013 at 7:27 am

anytime Nigerians starts complaining about other african countries accent, i just bust out and laugh. like kettle calling the pot black. any way to the person complaining the way ghanaian pronounce certain worlds, can you pls do me a favor and search for these words by going to click on the audio thing by the words and listen the pronunciation then come again

  • Monica February 6, 2013 at 8:38 am

What is with the obsession with accents and how people pronounce words? The thing is actually pising me off now ah ah! Do you know that francophone africans dont have the same hang ups and issues like us english speakers?? I’m fully convinced that this constant attack on how people speak english is a residual handover from our colonial past.

Who cares how people pronounce words?? as long as you understand them and as long as they are not totally butchering the english language, who bloody cares??

please, free youselves from this mental slavery. Free Joselyn, Toke and co. The minute we all just get over this whole scrutinising and attacking of prounouciation etc, you’ll see that people will just stop trying so hard with the accents etc and we’ll all just be free.

  • skinny gals rock! February 6, 2013 at 3:49 pm

Should she cut her hip and give you?”#dead#

  • kwatty February 6, 2013 at 6:54 pm

i don’t know why most Africans are haters when they see their own people climb up the ladder.they will go the extra mile to criticize and comment on unnecessary issues like hips and accent. Africans have their own accent when it comes to their local language but not English unless one has stayed in the UK or America for a long time. let us learn to celebrate our own people. do unto others what you expect them to do unto you and stop hating and share your opinions maturely.
