Are you a woman? Do you know what natural breasts look like? What cup size are you? I have so many questions to ask. The breast is made of fatty tissues and the bigger they are they more likely they are to hang low. Common law of gravity – the force that attracts a body toward the centre of the earth,, ie, down! Genny your boobs are fine, perfect. Its people like you that give women inferiority complex. I am sure you are a cup size zero.

Honestly, i taya for am. Madam Tara…….make an effort now! You are one of the shining beacons in the Nigerian make-up industry, c’mon!!!!!!!

Nigerian women are beautiful! I am proud to be one. However, we shouldnt just totally buy into the Western ways of tattoos, excessive nudity etc.
Beautiful pictures in general!

Bammo
March 12, 2013 at 5:17 pm
shut. up.
Do a quick research, will you. “excessive nudity” is part of our culture. What is our traditional attire? Pieces of fabric across bust and hips in different variations throughout traditional African culture.
Even tattoos that you speak of have been done as for decorative and protective purposes using the acids from cashew. Don’t blame your ignorance on “western culture”.
Thanks.

March 13, 2013 at 12:44 am
actually our traditional attire (according to my grandma) in Ibo land used to be almost naked (for the young unmarried women) until the british came and introduced clothes

Totally agree with you. Same way I feel about Alex. You should never go too far off the conservative lane as a gentleman when going for a black tie event. Simple!
Wow

Totally agree. While his outfit was daring & different, I think it’s highly inappropriate for such a black tie affair.

Genevieve looks like this white dress is going to hunt you forever. Anyways most of the ladies looked fabulous. I really wish our female stars will not just copy what they see on the western red carpets. Don’t take everything you see literally! Forget that side boob story on fashion police. Decent ladies represent their families, it is the truth. Rita Dominic, Stephanie, Omoni Oboli, Tiffany Amber all did it for me.

Genevie’s Bridget Awosika dress is my best female look!!! Genevieve slayed this look. Stunning, sexy, elegant and powerful! However, my only issue is the styling of her hair and makeup. Whoever styled her didn’t complete the job. The dress on her is tooo stunning to not have completed the look. Her hair could have been a bit cleaner and tighter and perhaps a more popping colour on the lip. As for the boobs showing the stylist or designer should have just used heavy styling tape. That is what celebs at the oscars do so that the boobs are lifted and not so obvious. None theless she carried this dress so well and so gracfully. The cut and fit of the dress is just perfection to the tee. Much kudos to Bridget Awosika for this masterpiee. She nailed it and you can tell she is a prefessional designer. My best male look is Ebuka!!!! Wow! He just looks amazingly sharp and so dapper! Mai Atafo nailed this one. The cut is just so precise on him. Love the choice of shoes and the bowtie. Finnese at his best! That is a fine looking man in a well tailored suit!

Uru/Biola/Funke/Folake/Caroline that’s how you do sexy with a hint. All of you that are spilling out of your dresses, you can never be Americans. This is Nigeria, we have a culture, we believe in role models. I am not going to join the bandwagon and say its good sorry! Pay attention to the guys that came with their women, notice how the women were dressed! A word is enough for the wise.
Flygirl
March 12, 2013 at 6:27 am
Just shut up Trish……what culture do you have? What bad things do American do that we Nigerians don’t? It’s nobody,s culture to dress almost nude, in case you are ignorant even Americans comment on excess nudity…..the only difference is that the enforcement of fundamental human rights make their society tolerate people…..besides what is all that crap about copying anybody? Our society like all societies all over the world is becoming tolerant as ple now demand to express their rights…..

beautiful designs by very good naija designers and I saw one website where some somolu tailors were advertising as the best designers in nigeria, mtcshew, one of them even has an ugly review from a blogger.
These are the real designers Tiffany Amber, April by Kumbi, MAI, Bridget Awosika not the desperate seeking attention Somolu tailors, when we talk of the best talk about JBL etc enoughsaid, nice pics by the way

Best Dressed goes to Caroline Danjuma abeg, abeg, no competition. I almost thought I was looking at Jennifer Lawrence from Hunger games. Please, ALL the female 9ja celebs should find out who her stylist is, please please. It was as if she didn’t belong there sef. She could have worn that at the Oscars or Golden Globes, and she would be a best dressed nominee. Hair, dress, makeup, everything 100%. As for her other accessory sha, I’m a Joan Ranger, but I’m not as mean as my Oga sha. Lol

Na-me/Na-u
March 12, 2013 at 8:55 pm
@Damitayo……seriously?!!!! Ruth Osime looking gorgeous? She obviously styled herself otherwise she should fire her stylist like NOW. I imagine that neck piece is expensive costume jewelry but that black belt is already embellished so there was no need to clutter the gown further. Besides you either wear a stmt ring or a stmt bracelet (NOT BOTH) on the same hand. Don”t even get me started with that ‘handbag’…….. not classy at all(at least with the ensemble). The whole ensemble was too matchy-matchy. That yellow dress would have looked classier with a turquoise or coral stmt earrings, stacks of tiny interesting gold bangles, a smaller black belt and a nude miniaudiere. Again look at her arm……not toned at all.
Joan Rivers's PA
March 11, 2013 at 11:59 pm
Best dressed nominee, Osas. I can see that some kind undergarment or structured lining magic was at play. Cleavage, not too forced and her silhouette was perfect. Hair and makeup on point. Her slim back no folds. Other 9ja female celebs, please take note.
Jocelyn and your peek-a-boo bra, just ruined an otherwise perfect look
Oluchi, kai, you looked like a house girl in that Roberto Cavalli. Sorry. That’s the pose of a “supermodel” on the red carpet. Smh
Gennys Bridget Awosika’s dress should have come with instructions. Seriously. Some heavy duty boob tape, and it would have been classy. This just looks wrong. What’s up with her face though? Nike Oshinowo comes to mind, I don’t know why, but it just does.
Joan Rivers's PA
March 12, 2013 at 12:01 am
Omotola’s first dress was much better. Her hair sha. If she was going for the bed hair look, note to the stylist, bed hair with weaves, odikwa very tricky to pull off. Ask Kate Hudson’s hairdresser how he does it. The front of her second dress gave me eye ache. The back was much better, simple and sweet.
Same with Biola Alabi. I know it is a geometric pattern, but kai, I had to look away. The dress didnt photograph well. It probably would have looked great seeing her in the flesh. Her second dress though, just gorg, suits her skin tone perfectly. Members of the bleaching club association, see how lovely natural black skin can look. Caveat emptor
Ojy Okpe, the Angelina Jolie leg pulling, did not work o. I expected a more toned leg from a “supermodel”, and your dress wasn’t long enough sef
Joan Rivers's PA
March 12, 2013 at 12:02 am
Ufoma my dear woman, that dress, reminded me of a crocodile’s skin. The poor girls were suffocating in that dress
Matse Uwatse, you should have packed your braids up like Tools na. Otherwise, gorgeous dress, lovely colour
Uru Eke’s dress just reminded me of the organic green juice I drink every morning. Bleh. If she had added tear drop earrings, a cleavage length necklace, a bold bracelet, anything. I give up
Rita, Rita my beautiful darling, turban and statement neck piece, plus the cape. Too much going on my dear.
Damilola, omo that Tailor loran dress ehn, kai, I can even see the seams at the back. The front, hot droopy mess. If the designer was going for the cowlick neckline? Epic fail
Joan Rivers's PA
March 12, 2013 at 12:08 am
Funke Akindele, spanx next time ehn, to give you the curvy silhouette, that dress demands. The hair also aged her a bit. Something fun, flirty, like an Anika Noni Rose hairstyle, would have been great
Stephanie’s dress looked like Aso ebi. Did someone say it was Gucci?
Jim Iyke, no mind them jare, you were going for the Village Headmaster look abi. I gerrit now
Toolz, you are getting boring jare. Seriosuly, surprise us a little, switch things up. 3/4sleeve, fitted dress, it don do for 2013 okay
Eku, Eku, eku, someone please feed that girl, haba. The contrast of the colour of that dress, with her skin and frame was not good at all. She doesn’t even need to gain that much weight really, just muscle mass, and she’ll look HAWT
Joan Rivers's PA
March 12, 2013 at 12:08 am
Tiffany Amber, I think spanx would have given that dress a bit more shape
Beverly Naya, ok. Nothing special
Michelle Dede, i love the neckline of that dress.
Omoni, the material of the halter, plus the empire waist band, I don’t know how both ended up on the same dress.
Did Eloho forget that the dress had a thigh high slit, or her other hand was placed there by accident. I didn’t really send the dress sha

Best dressed female at the event is Caroline Danjuma and that’s that! The entire ensemble was flawless from makeup to accessories to clothing. Some of the females look good but a lot of them are wearing the wrong clothing or showing off the wrong body parts. No matter how beautiful a clothing is, if it doesnt suit your unique body type then it will only end up being a FAIL!

Jocelyn Dumas is a real problem like damn!
Not feeling that dress on Rita. It highlighted all her imperfections…satin material is not for people who aren’t very toned.
I loved the April by Kunbi dress on Genny. The Bridget Awosika on the other hand was so-so.
Not feeling that dress on Funke either. Makes her frame look odd.
Omotola is another problem. See shape na!
I like Damilola’s Obsidian dress.
Osas Ighodaro pretty much came to stunt on heauxs!
Beverly Naya — that cheap looking satin is just a no-no.
Folake Coker looks like she was heading to a picnic.
Most of the guys looked very sharp. Keep it up guys.
Caroline Danjuma blew it out of the freaking park, like WOW.

Madam the Madam i L O V E your comments jare. Funke i think tries to hard and in doing this that YORUBA-ish thingy comes to the surface. I think its the pose, or maybe her plenty teeth smile i can’t put a finger on it but she needs to deal with it and very fast or she’ll always come out looking razz. Omotola on the other hand needs to hit the gym, to give her figure the OMPH! it needs and whoever did her hair needs to be FLOGGED. Look at Toolz and look at her both curvy but one is graceful (toolz) WHILE the other is just mama eko(omo T)

It’s probably the first time I’m looking at a Red carpet compilation and feeling proud. This is what it’s supposed to be. In the US everyone looks forward to the oscars for high fashion! Not even the Grammys. Finally our movie stars got the memo and have stepped up to claim their space!
Kudos to my first best look-
((( Omotola ))) – classy with both outfits, no unnecessary show of body parts, yet still looking hot
And as sexy as usual.
Osas ighadalo- now this is a starlet that knows her onions. Quite unknown but made a fashion
Presence ,reminded me of the hunger games girl.
Joselyn Dumas – wonderful shape , definately the Omotola of Ghana movie industry. Loved the
Short hair too, but like someone pointed out the peekaboo almost spoilt….
Caroline danjuma- very old glam Hollywood whimsical. Didn’t like the facial expression and
Wished we saw her alone, but still enough to make one go aho aho.
All the dudes look fab. Not here to dissect dudes mehn….
Others were alright….everyone made a good effort and it shows.

Seriously, I think Gennevieve is a shame with that white dress. What was she thinking of at the moment she wore it? All, she has done is to take nudity and the sexual objectification of the woman to a totally new level.
And for the commentator who said ‘excessive nudity has always been part of our culture’, I would say that is an unfortunate blasphemy. In the ancient times, our forefathers never tied clothes just round their busts and other private areas. This misinformation is a produc of the poorly researched movies churned out by Nollywood.
Decency, public and private, has always been an African tenet!
Thumbs up to Fela and Tara for flying the mast of decency.

Omotola- Looks great as always (that’s a good and bad thing) I think she needs to change things up a lil. Go a lil out of her comfort zone and try something new. Looking at the pic, i didn’t see anything that caught my attention (fab make-up, hair, etc). I think the issue with Funke Akindele is her body shape. She often looks like she was squeezed into her outfits. Her shape is that of an inverted triangle and what she needs to do is balance it. Personally I think Toolz is showing a lil too much but that’s just my opinion. They all still look fab tho.

Omotola shouldn’t have taken off the Ejiro Amos Tafiri dress, it was absolutely divine!!!! The second dress was bleh! Damilola in Obsidian was a total disaster, the tailoring was really bad (always bad :/ ). Caro was definitely best dressed! 😀

hmm Genevieve and that yellow dress = drop dead gorgeous!
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde = wow! just wow…simply stunning!
Joselyn Dumas = You look amazing…dat body!
RMD = You will always be the love of my life…still looking you’re one fine man!
Jim Iyke = Like WTF! what’s wrong with you, Akpos/Akpan!
I definitely agree with the comment about Funke Akindele’s razz look…note to Funke: I love you but please stop trying wayyyyyyyyyyy too hard girl! Just be you pls. That dress looked supa awkward on you na.
Overall, the best red carpet event in a lonnnnnggggggggggg while. But I only see Genevieve, Omotola, Joselyn and my RMD!

Omotola always has this smirk or is it a look of you don’t know what I’m capable of. She has a very attractive aura . That’s why I’ll complain about her show to high heaven and still bloody watch it. She should loose some flesh though, it will only make her hotter.
I’m impressed she is a mother of four ( none on this red carpet has that I guess) been in the game this long and is still most peeps crush! That’s genius or is it sheer luck?

genevive, nudity is low class, mitchell obama will never dress nude to public, babbara bush is covered up to her neck at all times, hilary clinton is always completely covered up, oprah winfrey never exposes any part of her body when she is dressed up, likewise the queen and kate middleton. these are the women that matters in this world, why then do you naija women want to copy jlo and these low class stars?

Wow, I’m so happy to see almost all stars looking elegant and classy. I’m going to concentrate on the ladies as the guys all look alike to me (apart from Jim). Kudos to Genevieve’s (I would have preferred the second dress to be shorter though), Uru’s, Funke’s and Matse’s stylists, they did a fantastic job!!!! Outfit’s I don’t understand were presented by Eku and Yetunde……

I’m kinda disappointed with the females. The males killed it!!! E be like say my husband go wear this Trayor Gabriels suit oh bcos all the men that were in it looked STUNNING!
Best dressed (female) : Osas Igodahro and Caroline Danjuma
Best dressed (male): ALL the ones in Trayor Gabriels
Most disappointing look of the night for me (female) : Eku Edewor and Stephanie Okereke. And its so sad coz I love these two ladies!
Disappointing look (male) : Jim Iyke baby. Im sorry boo but I just dont get it! LOL! Its a risk tho…not worth taking lol.

Jim Iyke, ur dress is good, but u designer failed u, what u wanted to wear did not come out. The Cameroonian football player Ringobert Song wore it last year, and it was good. find out.
oluchi orlandi, nice dress, but it does not fit u

On a lighter note the white dress gennie wore is so perfect….. but the hit of the night is the Ghanian actress Joselyn Dumas, if Omotola just stays natural and cuts the empasis and noise on her back side/show a bit of humility then we can see the real her….
