Nigerian media personality Ariyike Akinbobola held the December 2012 edition of her networking event Best of Both Worlds at the N-Tyce Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Hosted by Adams Ibrahim, Moet Abebe and Pearl of Soundcity TV, the event saw in attendance entertainment personalities including Denrele Edun, Noble Igwe, Toke Makinwa and Dipp.

As part of BOBW’s aim to create a platform for upcoming artistes and fashion designers to showcase their talents, M-Thrill, Leo Wonder, Ololade Cucu, Miss Bimi and 17 Voices belted out their songs while budding design label Fablane by Derin displayed its pieces.

Guests enjoyed jokes by MC Prince, Extreme Comedy, MC Akpomaly, MC Parrot and Tyvy Funny as well as an open mic session on unprotected sex and its effects. According to Ariyike, there was a best dressed competition and media personality Toke Makinwa won for her plunging neckline brown jumpsuit paired with black pumps, a black belt and a statement neck piece.

Toke’s look is actually very nice but i wish she’d worn a bralet and not a bra. Just too much ratchetness at this event, i think ariyike tries too hard to be on the social scene, she needs to give it up.

sara adebayo dear i wonder ooo most black women especially Nigerian, have inferiority complex! they see their real selves as lesser beings, hence the weave love.. then they cry and tell you its because they don’t have time sure!! or they will tell you their hair cannot grow SUUURRREE!!!!!! lazy women! instead of them to sit down and experiment with their hair and try to understand what works to make it healthy/grow, they run fixing shit…

If you people see a picture of rihanna with her bra you kiss her ass and then your own Toke Makinwa shows hers and you throw rocks at her. Only God knows how Toke does it men, this hate would have made retire since. Maybe she should just leave the entertainment industry, girl find a job, a 9-5 and let these people leave you

Instead of you to commend the organisers of the event for doing something good you’re busy going off about real or fake hair. It’s nobody’s business if anyone fixes 50 inches peruviaan or brazillian. Is it your head or your money? No. I was at this event and it really inspired me to do more for others. Ariyike keep it up. The problem with Nigeria is that we keep celebrating mediocrity. This girl is giving opportunities to upcoming talent and nobody is saying anything good instead all you are bothered about is whether nigerians fix or wear their hair natural. I weep for this generation, thatzall.

This is what upsets me about Nigerians , this event was and is aimed at helping us, the up and comers in the industry , people should commend the event , this is whatakes us move forward as a ppl.instead ppl are hear going of about peruvian hair , I mean really though, and should denrele end his life becaus his friend died I’m sure goodie , wouldn’t want him to morn her forever , Plus it is very clear that the guy that made the negative denrele comment did not come on Bella Nija to read and learn I mean it was very clear that is was in DECEMBER !!!! .please don’t spoil something that is good for those of us that are very much interested
