  1. Lola Rae the Wannabee

Why is everyone hailing this average chick like she’s beyonce? Yes she’s talented but when I discovered that she claims to be Nigerian when her mother is Ghanaian and her father white British I was instantly turned off by the lies! Why lie about your heritage to get a head? And foolish Nigerians blinded by her yellow skin claim her like she deserves the acclaim! If Nigerians knew this wannabee was GHANAIAN would they be doing collabos and booking her the way they are? RUBBISH! She’s a big belly liar who is claiming to be something she’s not! THE END! kmt

Naija is where it’s at right now; obviously it would suit her better if people believe she is Nigerian, that way she will get more support with her music! Let’s be honest, Nigerian musicians are at the forefront of the African music scene, she’s trying to be clever! She talks about her ‘heritage’ here…she claims to be Nigerian because she lived in Lagos for a while… youtu.be/2FyQwfxxVZ0

isnt it the same way nigerians who move to canada and america claim to be canadian, when their parents are nigerian. if she has a nigerian passport, she can claim nigeria sha.

you are SO rude! She is AFRICAN! These artists are not as small minded as you to refuse working with a talented girl because she is not Nigerian! Disgusting unnecessary negativity.

*from the interview u posted, she said she was born in nigeria too, so she can claim nigeria. ur argument has no basis sha.

So if a white man is born in nigeria would nigerians claim him? She cannot get a nigerian passport so what are you talking? Even Nigerians born in tyhe UK cannot claim a red passport IF there parents are not british!

    • Clara

      April 15, 2013 at 4:23 pm

You really need to calm down! She was born and grew up in Nigeria and yes you actually can get a passport if you we’re born here like many other countries so stop acting so sour! She is still African and she grew up here so it’s part of her history and you can complain all you want but no one cares.

Looooool @ No nonsense. You’re terrible! 🙂 I actually thought this was a publicity stunt to get people Googling the Lola Rae person (and I did Google, cos I’d never heard of her until now) but if this is a genuine hater then I’m afraid the joke’s on you honey, cos intentionally or unintentionally….You’re actually hyping and promoting the Lola Rae! loool #Irony
P.S: Even if she claims to be Nigerian and she’s not….I for one, as a Nigerian, take that as a compliment (considering not a lot of people are proud to be Nigerian at the moment).

Lmao too funny! I agree that She’s trying to make a name by claiming to be Nigerian when neither of her parents are :/
The is ok, she looks nice but a lot older than 21. Good luck to her

  7. jonz

    April 15, 2013 at 4:13 pm

She is Nigerian! End of Story abeg!…moving on.

  8. Stop the HATE!!

    April 16, 2013 at 9:22 am

She was born in Nigeria, spent 16year in nigeria & she is 21years now. So u want her not to claim Nigerian after barely 5years in the UK.? & besides she speaks Yoruba & pidgin fluently. The Hate in your blood might just be your downfall..

  9. starry

    April 16, 2013 at 10:27 am

The song is ok, nothing special but I’m sure with the right video and promotion it will do very well.
Reading through the comments its quite funny, I guess both arguments are correct, she’s could be classed as a Nigerian IF she applies for citizenship but even then it’s not a guarantee…she’s isn’t a Nigerian by lineage if neither of her parents hail from naija but if she wants to claim Nigeria then I guess it’s a compliment to Nigerians…she’s one of many jumping on the ‘It’s cool to be Nigerian’ bandwagon.

  10. Nawa OOO

    April 16, 2013 at 8:23 pm

you know she is jumping on the bandwagon because she knows that the nigerian music industry is HOT! it is because of money!!! period. but i like her songs tho. she needs to claim GHANA/UK because she is half white before they catch her oo
