So close but not quite! Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter takes the 3rd position as 23 year old Megan Young representing Philippines is crowned Miss World 2013.

In a glittering affair in Bali, Indonesia, the US-born contestant beat 126 contestants for the crown.

Megan Young, who is studying digital media, promised to be “the best Miss World ever”.

Megan who also presents TV shows in her home country wore a beautiful embellished nude-coloured ball gown with silver embellishments.

She wept as the Miss World sash was put over her and the crown placed on her head.

Miss France Marine Lorphelin came second in the contest and Miss Ghana Naa Okailey Shooter took third place. Miss Ghana is our African Queen.

Unfortunately Nigeria’s Anna Ebiere Banner didn’t make it to the top 10, but will continue her role as a MBGN 2013. She will also perform all her roles.

The finale was moved from Jakarta to Bali, Indonesia, after extremist groups protested against the competition.

What I have noticed is that these winners have something in common with agbani and it is that they are graceful. Miss Ghana also looks graceful

I love love love Miss Ghana…from the very first day BN featured her! And I am not one given to most non-Naija ‘celebs’ (the Naija ones are lame/crazy enough to keep one intrigued for a lifetime). I kinda knew she wouldn’t win but it would have been ojoro if she didn’t make top ten!!
Well well I hope Miss Philipinnes has a sex tape waiting to be leaked very soon while Miss France gets knocked up, that way our Miss Ghana can thief the crown…hehehe. (God forgive me!!)

    @onomememenetekeofasinhiggyhag
a obiagbon, whatever you call yourself. Why wud you use such derogatory word on ur fellow person? When a white man abuses a black man its racism, what of a black man on a black man? If we cant appreciate each other, why shd they?
    That’s not how to talk.

Right from the moment I watched Miss Ghana’s introduction video, I knew she was a Miss World material. She has it all; carriage, beauty, complexion, eloquence, intelligence, poise…just name it.

I desperately wanted France to win and had Ghana has my first runner-up! I wish silverbird could learn a much needed lesson from this and go back to the drawing board- they should have picked Blessing Obi (Miss Kano) rather than Anna Banner- Anna is beautiful but is simply not mature enough and looks like any other 18 year old. Blessing, on the other hand, has that graceful stature that Miss World looks for in African beauties- she would have done well in the swim suit and top model, exactly the same tasks Miss Ghana did well in! Anyway, good luck for next year

Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it — but sail we must and not drift, nor lie at anchor. Congratulations to the Winners!!

“Near Miss For Ghana! … Shooter takes the 3rd position …”

    The problem with English.
Dear BN. I couldn’t help myself.
A “near miss” suggests you JUST dodged some bad luck. I shud think winning the title was the goal and a good thing?
