Love shuga and the issues they are raising but Biko Biko this foye girl… They should either give her some acting lessons or trash her. Her acting is not to standard at all. On a better note Nii and Malaika story is so intriguing and of course the acting is great! Yay for princess and Tobi they are cute lol. Excited for next weeks episode! Xxx

For real!! How did she pass the auditions

    • Dee

      December 23, 2013 at 3:55 pm

I concur, Foye has a good on-screen presence but her acting is a disappointment……they should have given her more time to develop her acting skills rather than casting her.

Omgosh!! I’m so upset that Maliaka puts up with her hubby’s beatings and abuse!!!! Arrghhhh! So pissed off!!! Foyeh, hypocrite much!??! I love Sophie!!! How cute is that boy though with sophie’s younger sister!! Love me some Shuga! Can’t wait for next week’s episode!

Cannot deal with Foye’s acting and diction.

  9. not feeling this

    December 23, 2013 at 5:39 am

i sha prefer the kenyan one jare. their acting was all natural but this my naija one is just too stiff and forced!

    • Mama Mia!!!

      December 23, 2013 at 10:10 am

Thank you!!! I expected so much from naija peeps. But, the Kenyans acting was so much better. Tiwa and this Foye girl shouldn’t be in this. Saw, episode 5 yesterday, foye’s acting was much worse and the other shapy dark skinned lady that had the HIV scare. I’m afraid I have gotta let go of this show and concentrate on Jacob’s cross reruns.:)

      December 23, 2013 at 6:28 pm

true. foye and tiwa savage should be replaced if possible,
or take serious acting lessons. in all, the nigerian one is not
“flowing” like the kenyan shuga, mostly due to the acting. the
acting in general is pretty average compared to the kenyan version.
      but i still like it.

I love this show, so educative and its a bloody eye opener for a lot of us young adults. I love all the characters. I think people should give the FOYE character a break, she is how some people are in the real world. its acting and she is playing her part.

  21. Seriously

    December 23, 2013 at 4:18 pm

Kenyan one was much better. This Shuga could have been so much better.. A few of the cast could have done with acting lessons.. Especially Foye and Tiwa.. HOW WERE THEY CAST?

    • Samantha

      December 23, 2013 at 5:46 pm

Loooool asin by force next season they have to recast and do it well. If I was to carry actors forward it would be – Tobi, Nii, Malaika, Sophie, EKene, David. Everyone else can go but foye definitely needs to be scrapped the acting is even below average sef.

  22. chikita

    December 23, 2013 at 5:48 pm

lmao Wale…you mean ebony not ivory! haha

  23. Bide

    December 23, 2013 at 6:18 pm

  24. nene

    December 23, 2013 at 6:33 pm

i feel like bikiya looks much older than weki. she even looks older than princess, yet she’s in high school. i won’t rant much cuz hollywood casts 26 year olds as high school students.

    • Leila

      December 25, 2013 at 1:52 am

Hollywood would make sure that despite their 26years of age they would look and act that age for the role.

  25. Seun

    December 23, 2013 at 6:49 pm

I LOVE SHUGA NAIJA!!!! Very entertaining! Tobi is sooo
fine! and his roommate as well…I love Femi! He needs to behave
himself tho no need to make Foye jealous, what will you gain in the

    December 23, 2013 at 9:29 pm

am i d only one that thinks sophie is an amazing actress…. her acting is so natural…… The foye girl isnt working for me at all why didnt they cast that ivie girl (that was doing that web series with eku). it would have been alot better. all i can look at is foye’s mouth when she is talking

  27. TS

    December 23, 2013 at 10:34 pm

Just completed all the episodes, love love love it! Sophie is a trouble maker. I’m so scared for Princess. I so want Tobi to shield her from the rest of the world.

And that, is how you tackle the issue of marital
rape/domestic abuse. I love the editing. The Kenyan Shuga had their
stiff actors as well, we love criticizing our own too

    • D'Mamma

      December 24, 2013 at 3:46 pm

Thanks Bev! Me I prefer Shuga Naija. That Solomon acts so well unlike the usual nollywood aristo scenes that are sooooooooo disgusting.

  31. yoyo

    December 25, 2013 at 12:48 am

This Malaika is such a learner.

  32. lyn

    December 25, 2013 at 7:22 pm

Sophie, Sophie, Sophie. I really, really hope she gets to work with a really good director because the woman is good. Princess and Tobi, and Tobi is fooiiiinnne. Princess is very beautiful (big girl AND braided hair). I love that we’re using space, the camera work is well done. Oh and Ekene (fine boy, nothing do you). Tiwa was not as bad as Foye but I feel that Foye should have been given some story on the accent—I blame the director on Foye’s part.

Now this is how you incorporate our music in television. I really wish more of the directors could learn from this and use our own music (club bangers as needed) in our films. Adams Apples does it excellently and so does Shuga.

Oya, when is the next episode?

  33. merci

    December 25, 2013 at 10:14 pm

I love all the cast joor! Can’t wait for next episode. Foye’s lips, gorgeous sophie, handsome femi, tiwa darling kuduos
