    Mirror Talk:
They (gay community) wish only to be greater than their efforts…resolved in their considered regard…and reassured in the knowing knowledge of what they accept their fortune to be… Kindness will hopefully speak to their intentions…and grace will provoke the thrust of their willful inventions…and the sum of they…led beyond the path of awareness they gather to acknowledge and speak… Love will openly weep affectionately for them….in light of days gone by…secrets that dare not speak…cry.
To my dear Emeka (not real name) and all the GAY Communities in Naija and sub-sahara Africa,
    You live…you live…
    You grow…You soar…
    You build…dream dreams…
    You scheme…You blend…
    You make haste…You seek favor…
You think of a time when you lost favor…
lost yourself when favors failed to be enough…
Enough in this place…enough to make you safe…
You live…because living is life and life is worth living…
You live because everything you are and want to be…depends upon it
YOU live….You are not disgusting …You are a blessing.

This made me laugh, he didn’t know what homosexuals do till recently? I hear. It’s funny and a little bit refreshing (for the lack of a better word) to find someone publicly be so politically incorrect. And what does she mean by what message is he sending to the Western world and Obama? Do these people think we’re still slaves? Do we owe them explanations for everything we do? Do we demand explanations from them when they make laws in their own countries? This is just pathetic and I like his response. Leave us alone to rule our country, if we make mistakes then we’ll manage them ourselves. Shikena!
That said I’m against criminalizing homosexuality and calling your fellow man “disgusting”. I’m certain there are far worse thing in your cupboard that would make the word “disgusting” far too mild in describing you.

NO….BECAUSE THAT US NOT PART OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER! AFRICANS OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE. THIS WHOLE SEX AND GAY RUBBISH IS THE WEST’s. GRAND PLAN TO KEEP SEX A TOPIC AND PUSH THEIR WORLD ORDER AGENDA. Bukky, if these leaders want to fight immorality, why isn’t adultery criminalized? What about fornication? Museveni commented that he doesn’t even like to kiss (just kiss) his wife in public….well, where is his furor over fornication? The bible is clear on it’s stance on those two issues. If we are criminalizing sexual behaviour, why are those two- which can be said to contribute to the breakdown of the family (among other issues) – NOT criminalized?? Yes, Western leaders are hypocrites but you are very naive if you do not see that many African leaders are just as hypocritical.

You forget that despite the many problems in the world today ie CONTINUOS MASACCRE OF SIRIANS, the west and their ASS LICKING CELEBS AND PATNERS are the ones making this gay ish the TOPIC FOR THE NOW ! THEY are the ones “FORCING EVERYONE TO THINK, DISCUSS AND DECEIDE ” on this matter!
The most annoying is the silence in the DISCOVERY that Homosexuality Os NOT a thing you are Born with ( naturally) s propagated by them. They’ve been caught and are now silent in that and are using othe new propaganda ( Religion)!
Bloody idiots why do they not allow polygamy in the west and call it ” Bigamy”? Aren’t they consenting aldults too? Why haven’t Africans imposed this on them and their own society? Forget religion etc… What part of seeing a man act spineless and wobbly like a retard and wearing lipstick etc. Look normal to any normal human?
AFRICANS MUST SAY NO TO THIS INVASION OF SEXUAL DISCUSSION IN OUR DAILY LIVES, WE HAVE BIGGER MORE IMPORTANT AND LESS DESTRUCTIVE ISSUES!

You sound like you were married to a gay man. The pain is too raw. “The West,” assuming your are referring to America, has fought for women’s rights in Nigeria through the establishment and many NGOs and other non-governmental associations (see RedRickPR for the latest). “The West” has fought against pedophilia by opening the discussion onto a world stage to be scrutinised and seek for Nigeria to ban old men like Senator Yerima from marrying underage girls (part of why he marries from Islamic countries like Egypt). “The West” is focusing on homosexuality because it is currently the subject of national discourse thrust into the international stage by it’s rashness. How can you justify a productive member of society who can pay taxes and work towards the betterment of the society into prison for 14 years (OR FOR LIFE) because you don’t approve of their sexual orientation? Is your definition of a contributing member of society someone that can have a family? In that case, should barren women and impotent men also face jail terms? Are you aware of the jungle justice ramifications this law and others like it have had? The last time they published a list of homosexuals in Uganda, it led to many “unsolved” murders. In Abuja, people were thrown out of their homes, beaten with nailed planks to near death, and robbed of their property because of this law. Search yourself and ask why someone who is at the risk of this would “choose” to be gay.

Even if I were to accept your stance that homosexuality should be illegal, then is it by throwing the homosexuals in jail that they would change? How long have we been dealing with the issue of Boko Haram? Why is the police force supposed to remove attention from them and focus on gays? And do not tell me gay men are responsible for the spread of HIV in Nigeria. Promiscuous Nigerians who choose to have unprotected sex with multiple partners are to blame for that, not the gays. You do not sympathise with gays because (I’m hoping) you are not personally affected by the outcome of this bill. It is nice to sit comfy in your home and type the hateful things that you imagine because you find another human being “disgusting.”

As for Uganda, I don’t see other parts of Africa as countries to be looked upon when considering world advancement. Any new form of civilisation, average-minded people would deem as signs of the End Time. Where were you told that robbing people you don’t like of their right to life and liberty is what would stop the world from ending? Zimbabwe, Uganda, and now Nigeria, are nothing more that morally decrepit failed states suffering from the effects of the misinterpreted religion they were introduced to by “the West.”

      Good day.

My dear, well spoken. This is by far the only comment I agree with and as humans we are quick to judge others if they do things that make us uncomfortable and new or not known and understood to us. Personally this has gone on for too long ,and its going too far, to imagine innocent people being named and jungle justice carried out, this is not right at all. Just as we tell AMerican to mind their business, why don’t we mind ours and allow these people to do as they please in the privacy of their homes, I am sure by no, not even one gay person will carry on anyhow in public. If they do not disturb you how then is it an infringement to us honestly. I don’t know again o.

      February 26, 2014 at 12:07 am

Let’s take a step back and forget about the West for a minute. You’re right. They have no right to tell us what to do (although the foreign aid money we keep collecting from them may say otherwise…). Let’s focus on our own citizens. Who is this hurting? The West or Nigerians who have the same rights as you do but just happen to have a different sexual preference? The difference between this and paedophilia is that one party is below the age of consent. The difference between this and adult rape is that one party has not agreed.

…in my heart i want to agree with u because i feel like we should have full control of our own societies but time after time we have proven to be self destructive instead of progress …(genocides … rights denials …mass corruption…warlord cannibalism) … if we need an outside help to save us from ourselves .. so be it. Am not gay and today (i still don’t understand what a man is seeking in another man with all the beautiful women in this world) neither do i have any relatives gay but i have no right to tell someone else how to live their lives or sin (as a christian). just as i cant jail or kill an adulterer as long as it doesn’t effect my own life or someone else …am sad when i say it but africa is pulling africa backwards. Do u know how many innocent people who might die from this …its as easy as someone who hates u accusing u of being gay and paying off one or two people to bear false witness …and that’s it ..your in jail or dead.

When it comes to receiving western money, we receive it whole heartedly and even steal it from the people it’s meant for. When it comes to partnering, we beg the west, when it comes to holidaying escaping war, we run to the west. But when the west SUGGESTS to us steps we can take to advance our human rights records or ensure our full development so we stop being beggers…we become to smart for ourselves and we claim the west is enslaving us. Really?

crucify me for having an opinion. Personally, I’m against criminalizing people’s choice when it comes to who they choose to have sex with but I don’t support recognition of homosexuals at any level. Do you but don’t force your lifestyle on us.

Why not do yourself a favor and leave the west (the supposed land of bondage) and go back to Nigeria the land of the free. When you get back to your land of the free don’t forget to inform Jonathan that you believe Nigeria is very self sufficient and he should never ask or receive any form of aid from the west because that will mean you are still in bondage. Lastly, don’t forget to tell Jonathan and his wife to stop coming to the west for medical care or procedure.

    February 25, 2014 at 11:03 pm

I just have to wonder about how some of you think, or the way you envisage the society you live in and how you want it to turn out. Is it ok for a President to condemn its citizens for something that is innately personal and in no way criminal? Is it ok for a news to run a list of people supposed “gay” people and name and shame them in a country where they could face prison terms for life? Whatever happened to a right to private life, freedom from discrimination and equality for all? Is it ok for a government to pass laws that inevitably denies people of treatment in the hospital because of their sexual orientation because the Ugandan law is so much more than mere imprisonment. If you know any gay person you are supposed to report them to the authorities, if a gay person comes to the hospital for help you cannot treat them without reporting them to the authorities as well (Hippocratic oath anyone?)…. This is not good, and that is why the West interferes and I welcome the interference. Our government is a failure, no our people, people like you who chose to ignore reason are failures..
ALL of you have chosen (you know better, except for the few illiterates amongst you that can barely spell, or are seriously unintelligent you know yourself if your contribution has been to call anyone that sees this law barbaric as gay) to ignore the blatant violation of human rights because of your religious or personal prejudice.

The simple fact is this.. The government is the government, it is supposed to look after its citizens, not crucify them, and Ugandan and Nigerian and the Arizona government are failing at this. They are failing the people who elected them and the principles of democracy.. But I wont say anymore, when this somehow gets to you and your family, just remember all the bile you have spewed and cling on to it.

You made mention of the Bible and and it is used by Christians right. So what happens to those who are not Christians or believe in any God at all. You are going to force down your beliefs on the throats of these people. Shouldn’t there be some form of freedom of religious beliefs as long as they are causing bodily and physical harm on anyone. Should the Muslims also criminalize anyone they see eating pork because it’s a sin according to their religion. Or should the few Hindus in Nigeria who are vegans because it’s a sin according to their religion get anyone they see eating meat or any form of animal product thrown to jail for 14 yrs or burn them alive.

It just vile to keep thinking about peoples sexual act, it just the height of perversion. Why would you want to do that if you were not in some way interested and intrigued by the whole thing, Infact bordering on experimentation.

  35. SJ

    February 26, 2014 at 11:19 am

This clearly what the devil likes…confusion among Christians. The bible clearly forbids homosexuality, but we as Christians are forgetting who we really are. The bible says live your neighbors as yourselves, and its the same bible that also says, do not condone sin. Many of us are focusing on one thing, gay but the bible also says there’s no greater sin. Sin is sin. How many of you have a child out of wedlock? Leaving with the man/woman that you are not married to? Fornicates? Gossip? Lie? Curses?
As an African American (Nigerian) Its sad to see how many so called Christians judge and backbite their fellow human being. I absolutely do not believe in gay marriage at all, I think its not right…but I do not condemn them, judge them, or push them aside. Whenever I have an opportunity, I talk to them about the word of God. I don’t dive straight to the “you are going to hell”. What would Jesus do in situations like this? he says he did not come to save the saved, but he came to save the lost. Jesus would get to know them as a fellow brother or sister, then come with the world.
The president of uganda has every right to do whatever he chooses, its his country, but I believe he is not going about it the right way. Secondly, there are far much important things to focus on and like what someone said earlier, child trafficking, women’s right, slavery, protecting the widows etc….We as Christians shouldn’t be like the world…we should stand out and show others that we serve a loving, and compassionate God who loves everyone. The sun doesn’t shine on some, and leave others cold…it shines on all…this clearly shows God’s love. Shalom all.

I seem to also remember that God gave us all humans free will. I am not gay and frankly and personally I do not condone the act but to be honest, how does it affect me what people do in the privacy of their homes? At all at all! So please allow other humans to do as God willed them their free will., He is the only one to Judge …. period.

So why are some people created with ambigious genitals. Who created such people. Are they disgusting too?. Two principles I hold dear from the bible . The first is love your neighbour as yourself. The 2nd one is judge not lest the measure you use to judge with is used to judge you. There are a lot of other things written in the bible that have been misconstrued and taken out of context. It’s really disturbing how people will USE the bible for their own selfish hate filled desires. There are scriptures that are hidden away from public eyes in vaults. God gave use brains lets not be afraid to use them.
