It’s Here! Watch Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhané Wallis & Cameron Diaz in the “ANNIE” Remake Trailer

Quvenzhané Wallis - March 2014 -BellaNaija

“It’s a Hard Knock Life for Us”

We all grew up watching the movie Annie…if you didn’t, I guess the rest of us are youngsters 😉

The first film which was released in 1982 is as iconic as Sound of Music. News of production for the remake started buzzing in 2011 with Will Smith‘s daughter Willow Smith chosen as lead.

Willow later refused the role, which went to 10-year old Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis. The movie also stars Jamie Foxx as a rich politician and Cameron Diaz as cruel orphanage owner Miss Hannigan.

For all the youngsters, enjoy!

I know this movie had/has a lot of controversy around it because of the black Annie. And as much as I’m pro African/black I honestly think some classics shouldn’t be retouched. It’s like having a white girl play Seraphina…anyway that’s my own two cents. Whatever rocks their boat.

well that’s not even a good comparison because Annie’s story is of an orphan child and any child whether black or white can be an orphan..comparing it to Sarafina … #error

One strongly believes that classics should be left as they are…as classics. Don’t touch, don’t tweak, don’t remake. Let them be. However, this looks good. One shall wait and see sha.

In other news, Quvenzhané is such a cutie. (yes, I had to copy and paste her name. Ain’t nobody gat tiime)

I’m usually very wary of remakes like this – I didn’t even bother with the new Sound of Music. My niece said “it will ruin your childhood memories”, lol.
This remake however looks pretty good.

if classics arent remade. how do we share the wonderful stories with our kids. im sorry but my son wouldnt be so trilled watching the original annie. this on the other hand would appeal to him as it is colourful and bright.. so far the story line isnt changed i think its fine.
