Rotimi Amaechi in Gucci - BellaNaija Style - March 2014 - BellaNaija 01

Grab your arm rests BellaNaijarians, because BN Weddings is about to take you on a beautiful journey of holy matrimony..so stay tuned.

On Saturday 22nd March 2014, Paul Okoye of Nigerian pop group P-Square tied the knot the traditional way with his best friend and confidant Anita Isama at the Aztech Arcum, Port Harcourt, Rivers.

Rotimi Amaechi was one of the many guests present at the star studded ceremony.

The Governor of Rivers State who is no stranger to rocking designer duds (click here to see) arrived looking suave in a floral blazer from Gucci‘s Spring 2014 collection.

Instead of the graphic print pants,  he styled the blazer with a shawl lapel, with navy pants, a white T-shirt and black shoes.

This is the instance where the you tell someone “the fact that it is designer does not mean it looks good”. He looks like he’s wearing those rubber table cloth!

In the voice of Emmy Collins what the heck is he wearing . firstly this is a traditional wedding so epic fail. Secondly the trousers are too long and the Jacket is way too big you can tell from the length of the sleeves and the fit.

chai, serious comedy relief here. This is what u can describe as having more money than sense. Sorry gov, but you look like a colored pallet in that jacket, what the heck was his stylist thinking…apparently money can never buy finesse, class or sophistication. Guccio Gucci must be shaking his head in his grave.

He needs to work on his day job. Rotimi, fix the damn state you run. Port Harcourt is a serious disgrace and ironically so, considering how much money is passing through the state’s coffers.

Wait. I get it. He has a good tailor in PH who copies these styles for him. He buys the fabrics in Aba, and then makes these outfits for the governor. There is just something ungood about this. By the way, this same guy makes those tight clothes for Julius Agwu. Amaechi looks like a spectator at a local wrestling match. And those shoes? They are awful. What’s with Nigerian men and this craze for driving loafers. They are not just uncomfortable for walking, they are bad for feet. And that white ‘singlet’? No, no. Governor Amaechi you got it wrong this time. #EpicStyleFail

Epic fail. I know nothing about Rivers State but if it’s anything like the rest of Nigeria, it probably suffers from power outages, poorly maintained (and developed) infrastructure and bad roads. This governor, like all governors of Nigeria, are spending money on foolishness instead of fixing the problems in their own states. SMH. You can spend $2000 on a gucci jacket but not $800 to pave roads in your own hometown. Foolish man!

Nigeria has way serious more serious issues than picture of a gov wearing Gucci. Not sure what this is meant to do for the public. He’s a gov and he can afford it so that is no news. What is news is the misplaced priority of BellaNaija in most cases and the rate at which most Nigerians are so uninformed.
