Genevieve for best supporting actress in HOAYS simply confirms the award has no credibility! They left Onyeka and Gloria Young…

Useless award….two hottest single(s)…lol, what a joke of an award! But seriously, what is it that we Nigerians can ever do well? Is this how the Grammys or Academy awards got their credibility? It’s a total shame!

Nigerian Entertainment Awards in another country abi continent is like Ghana awards in Scotland.Dumb ppl.

    • Ibukun

      September 3, 2014 at 5:13 pm

It will actually make a whole lot of sense to have a Ghanian award show in Scotland (key word here is “a”). why? because it will get Ghanians in Scotland to relate and non-Ghanians to get interested in Ghanians/Ghana. The reason why this show was held in New York is so straight forward, honestly it’s rather disturbing that people can’t see the rationale behind it. Plus, as it is with a million and 0ne other award shows (including the Oscars) some (maybe majority) of the winners here are not justified…but sulch is laive jor, ki wa ni big deal?!

im sorry but why do we have to go to AMERICA to have an award show that celebrates NIGERIA. Its like them holding the grammys in lagos! are you telling me that there were no appropriate venues in the entire country?! We are just backward and its sad!

i am yet to understand why an award show that is mainly for Nigerian entertainers would be held all the way in Ameriaca, for what nau, why would Nigerian artists fly down to New york for this annual event, they rightly put it that the purpose is to celebrate the rich culture of the land and yet it takes place in New york. am yet to hear when Emmy, Golden globe or SGA or even MVA awards that celebrate Hollywood artists would be held in any other country. we dont just appreciate what we have, we always think that it is better somewhere there. Rubbish award

Dumbest award show ever, when are we gonna stop ds mediocre movement! My people plz tel tiwa to shatap ,Grammy n d likes nva started like D’s! BCOs she is lucky to HV don jazzy, resurrect ha wanna be career, she’s the only artist that goes off key when playing her own song live

What is eating people up about Genevieve winning an award??? Mind you, she got the award for how she projected herself in the movie and not about how many lines she “yelled” out. And by the way, the Nigerian Entertainment Awards is mostly for Nigerian entertainers in diaspora, although it reaches out most often to recognize also the Nigerians that entertain at home, so put the thought that they should have held it in Nigeria to rest. Finally, a shout out to my boo, DJ Cuppy for coming out to represent.

    • Mizzd

      September 3, 2014 at 6:30 am

Check the award list. How many of the winners actually live in the diaspora besides Lax so pls dont give us that cock and bull story. We are not proud of our country case closed. Oh and by the way we are celebrating nigeria yet they are all dressed like westerners ok oh!

    • Blessing

      September 3, 2014 at 10:49 am

Put the thought of commenting on BN to rest, yourself!!

  18. Wifey

    September 3, 2014 at 2:27 am

lol. Can someone explain the rationale for having this in the US. The production company/production assistants/hair stylists/hotels/cafes/taxi drivers in NYC would have made so much money on that day. That is money that should have been spent in Nigeria. Its an insult to the Nigerian fans that have supported these artists.. damn

Get over yourself, Latifat. Denrele’s lighter complexion is probably due to make-up or camera lighting. Besides, he’s of mixed nationality. His Mum is white, if Ȋ̝̊̅’m right.

Its for the diaspora (especially those in America). With more sponsors, it could be better. I might not agree with all the nominees & winners, but I’m glad to have something that connects me to the budding entertainment scene back home
