Miss World Scraps its Famous Portion of the Competition – Swimsuits!

The Miss World competition is changing the game.

The famous pageantry will no longer feature one of its most famous portion of the competition, the swimsuit competition. This is definitely a major change in the 63 year history of the competition.

The organization’s chairwoman Julia Morley made the announcement recently. “The organization has decided to take itself out of the swimsuit world because it isn’t the path they’re trying to take. It’s not just a beauty contest, it’s ‘beauty with a purpose’. There didn’t seem to be a purpose to have the swimsuit.”

On December 14th, another African damsel Rolene Strauss of South Africa was crowned winner, making it the last time contestants will be seen in bikinis.

Good. Now the judges can judge correctly based on brains and beauty not just sexiness.

At last. .This is beautiful. A lady does not have to be naked to show she is pretty.

i think its all these perverted men that are responsible for this ban. they watch pagent shows just to feed their eyes with women in bikinis.

the swim suit portion of the event is suppose to promotes healthy living and fitness/ exercise amongst women.

Really? Can’t you promote fitness without showing the woman on a swimsuit? It is only perveted men with lack of value for women that would oppose this change

Hoping the World will experience a paradigm shift because of this very act. Please take a cue from the pageant organizers…dearest celebrities. You create an image for the upcoming generation and someday you will be accountable for your fame because directly or indirectly, you are a mentor. Thread with caution.

Congrats to miss South Africa but the truth still remains that it’s a white that won the competition, beauty will always be attributed to white girls whether you are from Africa or not as far as you are white you are beautiful. And this is what this pageant has portrayed in the past couple of years,if not how do explain the little no of blacks that has won this pageant?
