New Video: D’Banj – Feeling the N*

D'BanjA few weeks ago D’Banj released his new single ‘Feeling the N*’ and it got a lot of mixed reactions.

Well the video for the song has dropped and it was shot in Monaco and directed by Mazi C.I Jizzle. Styling for the video was done by Jeremiah Ogbodo of Swanky Signatures Styling.

Check on it!

MEhhh. I haven’t cared about any dbanj song after the don jazzy split. And I actually thought he was the one who would have bigger hits following the incident. Whelp! I guess its clear who was the driving force behind his past music. On the business side of things though he is a beast! Kudos…

Even this business thing that he is doing, can someone confirm or deny how well he’s doing? Last I heard he was buying gold plated iphones which he seems to be giving as gifts or something…

Its sad that his music has sucked so much since he left Mo’Hits. Oh well…

I love the song and the video. Dbanj is good but I wish the split with the Don did not happen. They would have done greater things together. It’s all good, all I want is good music!

Horrible title for a song. Knowing the history of the N word and the African theme/setting of this video just makes everything cringe worthy

The only reason ild put the song on replay is cos of the sights….other than that, ild pass.

      December 23, 2014 at 5:26 pm

I’m confused, is ild = I would ? The standard contraction is I’d, so if you are going to use the same number of characters anyways, what’s the point of doing it incorrectly? I am assuming that it you actually know the right contraction but have chosen this presumably more fashionable option.

My dear, the English Language keeps evolving. You have to believe that it is actually “I’ld.” Ednutey missed the apostrophe. I’ld is new school even though Shakespeare used it. Not so new school then. I read it a lot now and I just SMH! Very soon, we will see the use of “I’cld” and “I’sld.”

Isn’t it funny how whenever D’banj releases a song everybody keeps saying that he shouldn’t have left Don baba but whenever Don Jazzy releases music nobody says that he shouldn’t have separated from D’banj.
Everytime D’banj is in the news, the comments ALWAYS stir towards the Mo’hits split but whenever Mavin is in the news nobody ever discusses D’banj or Mo’hits.

D’banj you have A LOT to do. I’m really shocked about how things turned out to be. Your music should be bigger than this. We all should have gotten over your split by now. If people keep hammering about it then clearly there is something wrong. I wish you the best and hope that you are surrounded by real and honest people not yes men.

On a side note, am I the only one that never takes anything associated with Tonto Dike seriously? I don’t mean to knock your hustle o Swanky Signature but it will be nice to see your works with other people apart from Tonto and D’banj.

Well the reason why people say so is because don jazzy is a social media lover, he shares credit and money online to win the hearts of online fans.. Don jazzy literally seats on twitter 24/7 just to chats and gossip… And another thing is most people saying he shld go back to don jazzy are don jazzy’s sympathizers..They feel pity for don j because they think d’banj left him which is actually the other way round.. Yes it was don jazzy tht left d’banj… People always think donjazzy was the boss..Hell no d’banj and don jazzy co owned mohits…so u guys shld stop the crap abt d’banj leaving his boss.. D’banj is doing alot better ..Its just dat he is not close to his online fans like don j and doesn’t share credit… D’banj have done very good songs like Oyato, top of the world, bother you and now feeling the n***ga .. They are acutaully good songs but haters will always have something to say since it wasn’t produced by don jazzy…

You must be on DBanj’s PR team or something. The split hurt his music a lot and the comments pretty much prove this.

Social media or not Don Jazzy came out of the split a lot better (worse than when they were together though).

Stop being in denial bro. DBanj has been pretty wack since the split.

    • Teni

      December 24, 2014 at 12:48 am

Lol honestly, this is comment is daft. D’banj’s music has suffered since he left Don Jazzy. I mean Don Jazzy is winning right now with the Mavins. DB Records haven’t done anything apart from releasing a crappy album. Now, who made Mo’ Hits click? Deffs Don Jazzy

Lord has mercy on this D’Bang. I have been saying it and I will say it again let’s fave it I don’t car who left who, but we all can tell that D’bang isn’t the way he use to be. Barely 3-4yrs ago, he was the HOT top of every where/song when he was with Don J. From his kokolet show to fall in love track, scape goat, Igwe etc he was rocking and blazing on FIRE. Now, he can’t even be compared to Wizkid let alone Davido or Mavin Records. But he need to find a great producer to brushing his shit UP again! And U are wrong form saying Don J is on social media feeding on gossip. It doesn’t matter what he does, cuz it’s his page. Paying fans money, that’s so RIDIC. I wish D. Banj good luck bt abeg he needs to keep it pushing. Don J is taking his team alone! From Tiwa’s albums to Dr Said and let’s not forget Africans/Nigerian’s eyecandy ” Korede Bello”

Mr. defender, you can’t force people to like D’banj’s music. He is basically releasing crap…total crap. Nigerians don’t have time for favouritism when it comes to music. If your beat is ‘bad’, we will be jamming to it. If not we will move to the next one.

  19. Truth

    December 23, 2014 at 4:47 pm

Why must nigerians try to bad mouth each other. You cannot rise while bringing others down. It’s good to be a fan, but learn to mind your own businesses. For all you know these two guys are still family, and as you know no family is perfect. Yes they have all grown in their areas, but you cannot equate ones success to the detriment of the other. Please face your lives, love or hate their music, na your own, but please learn to be positive about issues no matter who you favor more.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you Liz. Top of world was a really good inspirational song and feeling the N1gga (as much as I hate to say the word) is a proper banger. Things have been said about dbanj that are all lies and these things have finally matured in the minds of people and they have created terrible images of him hence the resentment of his music. Sadly he doesn’t use social media enough so that portrays him as arrogant also which he is not. He might not be the best at the moment but he is a hustler and I respect him for pushing the boundaries of Nigerian music. He has risked everything and I am sure he is sitting on his millions saying to himself ‘I don’t really care what people say’ but all those things are finally hurting his brand. I believe he still has a lot to give and I genuinely believe he is one of the very few artists with enough charisma and confidence to face the world however just like Arsene Wenger (yes I’m a football fan and unfortunately support Arsenal) perhaps its time to call it a day and stop further damage to that brand not because he cannot make good music but because of the hate out there.

Whoa this was shot in Monaco? Oh no, I’ve seen the way those people look at black people on vacation there and You using the N-word. Akward men Monaco is beautiful and er’thing but em those high class white people be scoping omo naijas with money with surprised googly sometimes disgust eyes least that’s how it looked from Ada and David’s honeymoon vlog.

  29. Mostest

    December 23, 2014 at 9:27 pm

Someone said mavins haven’t released any hits. Are you sleeping? Tiwa savage( don’t even need to mention the several hits), surulere, doro bucci, all still relevant months after being released. Dbanj has always said he’s not a musician but an entertainer. First he needs to stop writing lyrics bcos all his songs are rubbish. Then get with hit producers. All his songs are forgotten in 1 month max

  30. Bam Bam

    December 23, 2014 at 10:28 pm

D’banj to me has never been able to sing (I dunno why He keeps releasing songs), Even when He was with Don Jazzy., All He does is jump around and act like He is doing something. Maybe Don can’t sing but hey, He brought some really cool people into His crew and that makes sense. This song is very pathetic jare. O di egwu!

  31. freda

    December 24, 2014 at 12:01 am

I am sorry but why take on a burden that is not yours. Dbanj is a proud Nigerian who knows his roots. Non of he’s ancestors were unfortunate enough yo suffer slavery and the indignity of suffering under that N word. The people who have suffered through generations to free themselves of the shackles of the N ward have ultimately had to try and turn that N word into something positive for themselves and I get that. But when an ignorant African sells his proud heritage because he wants to desperately belong to something he doesn’t really understand it’s just so sad. In fact Dbanj u just invoke the ghost of true Niggarism with this idiotic attempt to identify with black Americans. A beg free urself and get real.

Uhhhh… where in Monaco was this ilmed? Abi you mean morroco? There’s no way in hell this was filmed in monacco. #justsaying

  33. obi

    December 24, 2014 at 7:08 am

As an African with identified roots you always reject attempts to use derogative terms such vas N word to belittle you. Why claim it, it has Notting at all but negative connotations for an African. It is very different when an African American uses it to describe themselves. They are making the best out of a real horrible experience and bad situation. You on the other hand have no reason to use that word. In fact if any idiot describes you as that you are well within your rights to tell the idiot were you are from, born free, proud, free to come and go as you please. Dbanj at your age you should be a role model to young people not encourage them to dance to music that demotes their culture and heritage. I would not be dancing to this up in da club. Shame on you man. My opinion if Africans , Nigerian want to claim The N word that is their cup of tea .

    December 24, 2014 at 9:10 am

aww.. love the last part of the video.. wish he used a black girl to go with the whole african theme of the video. great song dont understand the hate. if it was a mavin record production all u ass lickers will be like DOPE DOPE DOPE.

  35. Tosin

    December 24, 2014 at 12:27 pm

First, the bad: The ‘fine girl’ was blank near the beginning, no person inside, just DBanj and everything around her were living beings. Some of us are too old for this. I wanted to smack her and he stupid sunglasses and sunhat. I couldn’t see her face. I was just annoyed, thinking, next time get Alek Wek (well, maybe a shorter, less imposing person but not this damn unimposing) get somebody who has more to give in a video than the aloof dumb female thing. Or make like Niyola and get a mannequin. (I still can’t believe that was a ‘best video’ )
    Then ‘fine girl’ changed.
    The same girl.
Once again, 1:45 is the magic moment.
    She smiled.
    She became a human being.
She worked it a little, danced a little sef 🙂 A little chemistry between her and DBanj. Okay. Beautiful.
If I was a dude I don’t know what i would do with a dumb chick.

Besides the girl ‘coming alive’, my other best moment was the zebra tails swishing to the beat at 1:29 😀 and the Koko garri appearance, yeah Baby. All of the last two minutes of the video were really cool.
I like the safari thing, I even believe the storyline – DBanj proudly showing some chick his homeland something DBanj (the persona, the artiste) would do. I knew some braggart like that in undergrad, basically had girls drooling over him cos he’d fed them some ‘Coming to America’ Akeem the Prince fantasy. It’s all good. Nice video.

No self respecting black person will watch this nonsense and not cringe. The fact that you think it is ‘cute’ says a lot about yourself. I am black and proud. You can be a proud Nigger if you want. After all it is the name your superiors gave you so you might as well claim it and defend it and wiggle your dumb nigger ass at it.

What about feeling the Naija boi. U are a musician sha u can make it rhythm. Loose the N. Word. It’s not cool. Nigerians ain’t nigger, except those that want to be.

Those are scenes from the Southern part of Africa (Monaco is not this expansive to feature such land mass shown here)….meanwhile, he’s got a trench coat on while the ladies are in leisurely african print wear…lol #BushManJustKnackEverythingTogether….

    December 27, 2014 at 9:10 am

Basically the black people in the video Na nigger abi. The light skin girl Na correct be o’s she no be nigger. Dbanj and all the other nigger got to worship her dance for her and entertain her. Dbanj no say if no becos of money light skin gal for have notting to do with nigger. Very, very poor concept. Basically you are preaching that Black people are inferior to whites and it is a previlage for a black man to be seen with a white woman. Why will they not continue with white supremacy . Only a stupid BEG can come up with this. Very offensive song and video to par.
