Actually they don’t have the highest suicide rate..it only seems dt way cos they document and sensationalize everything..if some African countries were to do the same you would see how high the suicide and homicide rates are. Like in Nigeria.. What do you think d homicide rate is..you woulbe shocked if the statistics were actually done…

Totally disagree. Africans can handle a lot more than them. A little thing stresses these people out.

Zizi I beg to disagree. Switzerland has the highest rate of suicide in the world. What exactly is happiness and how do you measure it. I think some organizations have too much fund and they don’t know what to spend it on but to sponsor silly reports. Nobody in whatever country is happy ALL of the time and nobody is sad ALL of the time. I see that that countries with high level of income are designated as among the happiest. Well money isn’t everything really and the rich also cry. Besides with our extended family support system in Nigeria suicide rate in Nigeria is quite very low which is a good thing. Maybe the rest of the world has a thing or two to learn from us after all.

      Yass!
I commented before reading your comments. We have the same opinion. The support we get from our extended family is very phenomenal.
Most of us grow up knowing that life is not a bed of roses, so we tend to handle life better when things are not going well.

The people who rate these are fool and enemy of Africa. Why is it that majority of those unhappy are Africans and the Happy ones are the Europeans. This same Europeans live lonely and Africans are knw to be d most Jovial and family keeping, so I wonder how they are happy ………..

Na lie jooor! I think nigerians have to be the happiest ppl in d world. With all d hard life that we face, a naija person can have the week drom hell, no light, no fuel, broken down car, untold woe in traffic, shcool fees looming, no meat inside gala e.t.c but come saturday! When we tie that gele and give u the best shoki at a wedding, u will never believe d kind of week d person had. That is true happiness! 🙂

Then why do I feel so unhappy? I’m like that unmade bed, the long hours in a Saturday, the tinny sad tune of la vie en rose of a ballerina in a box.. The sadness keeps on moving round in circles. #sighs.
Every now and then, after being so happy.. I just launch into this bout of depression. I’m tired… deeply tired. I just want to be happy again.
