Ekiti State House of Assembly Reportedly Commences Plot to Impeach Gov. Fayose

According to Sahara Reporters, no less than 19 members of the Ekiti State House Assembly have commenced investigations into allegations of gross misconduct leveled against the state governor, Ayo Fayose.

The investigations are said to be the first step in a series of plans to impeach the governor.

One of the legislators in Ekiti reportedly confirmed the news, telling Sahara Reporters’ newsmen:

“We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Ayodele Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state… I can assure you that this is not a case of partisan witch-hunt. We are approaching the investigation with an open mind. No conclusions can be reached without a thorough investigation.”

According to reports, if Fayose is impeached, he would have made history as the first Nigerian governor to be impeached twice, as he was impeached in 2006 the first time he was governor of the state.

Here are some documents on the case obtained by Sahara Reporters:

what kind of country is nigeria?

so a governor that was impeached in the past, can still come back and run for office and not only run but win.

I am frightened everyday by this country and the people in it.

Is it not GEJ? But for him, Fayose has no right to even go to Ekiti. Nigga was impeached years ago and was ineligible to even contest. Many human rights lawyers, including Mr. Femi Falana who is from Ekiti were severely against it, but of course GEJ worked it to Fayose’s favour. That’s why I get irritated when some airheads say “Ekiti this and that”. During the governorship elections, it was fully armed and disrupted by soldiers, some governors were even prevented from getting there. And of course, elections were certainly rigged. This guy has to leave ASAP, silly tout.

Are you blind!? What does this have to do with Ekiti people, are they the judge?
GEJ put him there even after lawyers were complaining and raised complaints. Please open your eyes.

“Anyone who offers them rice”, really? I hate people who know next to nothing about politics but decide to leave “funny” comments and end up sounding like empty vessels. Do you have eyes at all? GEJ got him there, even as he had no prerequisite to be there, and disrupted the election. If you have nothing tangible to say, shut up. Not only rice, spaghetti. Rubbish! You guys will have an opinion, stupid ones at that on topics you’re uncertain about.

we have enough evidence that can prove beyond reasonable doubt that he rigged election, he should be impeached and banned from public office, all he has done is embezzled money anyway. President Buhari shld send him to a dungeon(jokes)

It shows that the impeachment was not from the people, anywhere in Nigeria that a governor’s party have lower number of members of the opposition party in the house of assembly, the members of the house will always use impeachment threats to harass the government…this is just apc revenge way of punishing fayose for the role he played in the presidential campaign…fayose is popular and grounded in ekiti politics…the people love him

Please they should allow the willow the people to prevail….the people stood by him again in the National Assembly and presidential election to show the world that fayose is popular

So please let’s stop this politics of bitterness and allow development to happen in ekiti…

We in ekiti will continue to support fayose, even if tinubu sit in his house in Lagos and impeach fayose 100 times, we will continue to vote him in

Fayose will get to know d definition of karma soon.

    • Udochi

      April 4, 2015 at 1:15 pm

Karma in what sense, really….because I’m not getting your point here. APC is one troublesome party and you know that. And they claim “Change”….change can’t happen if the leader of the land is being taunted. It’s clear that the people want Fayose as their governor; why should the opposition party stand in the way of that? Letting him be is letting peace be irrespective of the interim government.

Udochi, clearly you’re not Yoruba or Ekiti and you know nothing about Ekiti politics so hold your peace. What has this got to do with APC?
The guy isn’t supposed to be there, simple!

Governor Fayoseeeee,”he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones”. When you were busy pulling down the president elect (now to your embarrassment) you were of the opinion you were occupying your fathers office. okay, let the process begin. You sowed deep seeds of discord, your time to reap has come. You will know that ultimately all power belongs to God,not men & He is the only one that forgives and gives men a second chance. I wish you all the best as you feast on the pie of humility & hope you learn lessons that there are unseen spiritual principles that govern the affairs of humanity.

Can you people read, the so called evidence is addressed to the deputy governor. Sahara reporters get your info in order

    April 4, 2015 at 2:38 pm

This can’t work. PDP has about 7 lawmakers over there while there are about 18 APC lawmakers. And every Nigerian knows 7 is greater than 18 in Ekiti. So this is a waste of time. What they need to do is focus on cutting down the number of APC lawmakers to a maximum of 6.

Just like Gej kissed aso rock goodbye, he will also kiss the government house goodbye. He is a disgrace and I’m beginning to think he hypnotised the people of Ekiti.

All these congress people. Instead of doing the job they are sent to do they are witch hunting. Soon everyone will start blaming the president for everything.
For all the money Nigerian congress men/ women are paid, what impact do they have on their constituencies? How may Nigerians really know who their representatives are? ( senate, house of Representatives, state house of assembly) How well are these people playing their roles?
How many ordinary citizens can walk into their offices with civil issues affecting their communities and will be listened to, things get done, changes made?
