Take Your Time & Stay Healthy! Tia Mowry-Hardrict Gives Beauty & Fitness Advice for New Moms

Being a new mom can be more than a handful, and one of the many things that begin to suffer is beauty & skincare. However, thankfully we have moms like Dakore Akande, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Tia Mowry-Hardrict to help us with their stellar advice.

As the star of Nickelodeon‘s “Instant Mom” and mom to her adorable son Cree, Tia has loads of advice for new moms on health and beauty. In a short interview with, she shared how she went back to her normal body weight, and her number 1 beauty tip for new moms.

On how she got her normal weight back
The biggest tip is go at your pace. Take your time with exercising. If you get overwhelmed you’ll be tired and then it’s not fun anymore. So, set realistic goals. I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy, but I didn’t say ‘I want to lost 10 pounds every month!’ Instead I said ‘I will lose two to three pounds.’ I eventually saw progress and that made me work harder.

And finally, don’t compare yourself. There are some women who are naturally thin. But do what works for your body. It took me four to five months for my stomach to stop looking like flab.

On her beauty advice for new moms
My biggest tip is to stay healthy. Everyone is focused on what to put on your face instead of what’s inside. Drink lots of water. Also, if you’re thinking about having a baby, start taking prenatal vitamins six months before you plan to get pregnant.
