I like your review. But I’ll like to mention a few things:

The main theme of the movie is the return of people- how we have lived life before in a previous generation, but have no memories. Here is why the story made perfect sense.

Remember the part where Rita Dominic went to see the priestess?

Here is what I think happened-

    1. In a previous life, a man and a woman had betrayed one of their friends by getting with each other. The friend places a generational curse on them- that they would never have peace in their lives, if they live together.

    2. Both the man and the woman reincarnate into the same generation as a virgin girl and the warrior. They think their love is unprecedented, when actually, they are reincarnates of a man and a woman who had once betrayed their friend. So, because of a curse from a previous generation, they cannot live peacefully. That’s why the man dies when they try to run away.

    3. The virgin slave girl has a daughter who becomes a warrior like her father.

    4. Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin are two people in the present day who fall in love and want to be together. But because Rita has done her findings to understand their love story from previous generations, she knows that they can never be together. So she has to sacrifice for Joseph Benjamin to return to the Princess, his original love.

That’s why the princess decides to immortalize Osarugue with the cast figure to express her gratitude.

    This is my understanding. Opinions?

@Bae nah you lost it somewhere but I wont correct it for spoiler sake. Yes its theme is about return but if you blink you will miss like Bae did.

This movie is amazing, stellar cast, great direction, well told rich in tradition and very captivating. I had to think and calculate how many generations the lead characters re incarnated before the present day Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin lol
