Family of 14 Year Old Muslim American ‘Clock Boy’ to Sue Texas for $15 Million

The family of Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Muslim American boy arrested for bringing a homemade clock to his high school in Irving, Texas, that was mistaken for a bomb, is suing Texas for $15 million.

According to IBTimes, the family is seeking $15 million in damages and an apology from the city and its schools in order to avoid a lawsuit.

The report states, “in separate letters to the city of Irving and the Irving Independent School District, the lawyers representing Mohamed’s family stated that Mohamed was wrongfully arrested as well as illegally detained and questioned, without his parents being present. The family’s attorneys argued that the teenager’s name and likeness will be “forever associated with arguably the most contentious and divisive socio-political issue of our time…“

      @sexy diva

Muslims who benefit from the same country then turn around to bomb. The freedom they freely express in the west, they can’t even try it in the own countries unless they will be buried alive, stoned to death and beheaded. They hate the west so much, why even bother migrating to Europe or America. A Muslim woman came on Fox News explaining why it’s wrong for people to demand them to speak against terrorism or extremists. Is it haram again? It summarizes, how majority of Muslims feel. They don’t condemn terrorism bcos they actually believe in it. such distorted, contradictory, delusional, confused group of people.
Why don’t you stay in your backward countries and practice your religion there.
The “suppose clock” doesn’t even look like a regular clock you see around. Itmakes sense to be of suspicion especially with the high terrorism attack in your own land. The Boston bomber used a pressure cooker to carry out his attack. These Muslims can use anything, anybody to execute their attacks. Americans, please keep your eyes open. And I hope they lose, attention seeking family. Stay in Qatar whatever country they moved to and be building your clock there.

Okay…I think the boy and his family are really starting to milk it. I’m tired sef. The boy should go and face his book.

Look at what has happened in the past few weeks with all these bombings. I don’t even blame the teachers on being suspicious again.

As much as i sympathise with the boy, i agree that his family is milking the situation. what if he indeed had a bomb? i don’t blame the americans for reacting the way they did, almost everyday, we hear of these pychos attacking innocent kids in schools. The teacher only did what any individual, who has experienced terrorism will do, act with suspicion! Until muslim leaders come out in the open to condemns these acts, i fear more situations like this, will continue to occur. The boy has enjoyed his 15 mins of fame, it is time to move on. i bet with this new move, all that solidarity will end.

Lmao jealous? No hun, I’m a second to final year med student in Australia, unlike you I don’t comment on every post because I have a busy and fruitful life, I simply read, educate myself and move. I do not see the need to continuously degrade my birth country while flying the flags of another, neither do I consider traveling abroad an achievement. I look forward to seeing what you have achieved other than going “overseas”………….

  8. Seriously?!

    November 24, 2015 at 6:30 pm

The recent Yola and Kano attacks which killed about 53 people and seriously wounded scores of others were carried out by ELEVEN year old and FIFTEEN year old female suicide bombers.

Sometimes, in times such as these, you can’t take the chance that you may be over-reacting, and you sincerely can’t be blamed for being sincerely wrong, if it indeed turns out that you did, in fact, overreact.

I would be surprised if the school, law enforcement and government authorities had not apologised to the boy and his family before now, especially with all the attendant media attention. If they didn’t, that was remiss on their part; the boy is 14 years old and was arrested and put in handcuffs, taken to a detention center and suspended from school for three days. But, that said, the PRESIDENT of the entire country, invited him to and received him and his family warmly at the White House, the seat of the country’s power, and apologised to him, and he also had an appearance at Capitol; Hill, all in the same month.

After (in that same whirlwind month of invitations and appearances) inviting and receiving him and his family to Quatar, then offering him full scholarship for his secondary and undergraduate education (in Quatar), by the Quatar Foundation for Education, subsequent to which was the announcement in October by the boy’s family of the offer and that with their acceptance of it they were all moving to Quatar, it’s likely this move by the boy and his family is only a further step tele-guided by the muslim/islamic leaders/govts. and propaganda-ists, to further embarrass and hurt the US in the media and in the consciousness of people, incite more anti-US sentiment amongst muslims, which just brings more of them closer to radicalisation (i.e. becoming terrorists), divide Americans, but it also, inadvertently, incites anti-moslem/islamic/arab sentiment in American and other people across the world, who’ll feel the boy and his family are being very insensitive and greedy.

There would never have a been a right time for such a move by the boy and his family but coming especially now, with the Paris attacks still very much occupying world media and world consciousness and political discussions, policies and actions at the very highest levels, with Belgium still on lockdown with schools, concert halls, public spaces not open till tomorrow, Germany, US, UK all on high alert for imminent threats/attacks, these countries all over declaring states of emergency till 2016, this is not the time, and there will never be a tie for such a lawsuit.

A plane, (in the same month of October that he and his family were being feted at the White House, Captol Hill, various places and tv stations in the US, and in Quatar) carrying over 224 people (Russians) was blown to bits midair and every single life lost by use of A BOMB IN A SCHWEPPES CAN. The boy came to his school with a device with a carrying case containing a circuit board and power supply wired to a digital display.

So someone overreacted (in that instance) buy no matter what the outcome of the so-called lawsuit, the boy and his family and whoever’s behind them egging them on, are the losers in this.

Texas jurors won’t give him a squiggly dime, that’s for sure. With paris, his relocation to the middle east and all the sentiments against Muslims, he can kiss this Dream of cashing in good bye
