“I have no billions anywhere.” Cancer-Ridden Diezani Alison-Madueke Insists to Dele Momodu in Exclusive Interview

Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke emerged a few weeks ago in Ovation Magazine publisher Dele Momodu‘s new publication, The Boss Newspaper.

See details from the first part of the interview by clicking here, where Diezani insisted her sister did not have an intimate relationship with former President Goodluck Jonathan and more.

In the concluding part, Dele Momodu shares a reader confession that because of the first part of the interview, he “began to empathise” and “see beyond (his) contempt” for the former minister, due to her illness.

Diezani calls herself “one of the most vilified women in Nigeria’s history” and insists she followed due process – “I carried out my duty in the strictest terms”, but believes she “stepped on toes, very powerful toes” by doing so.

Dele Momodu, how much did she pay you for this sympathy campaign. So now you’re no longer a Patriot because you didn’t get any ministerial position Abi. I swear you people are heartless. This woman should stop all the antics and come and account for all the missing funds and mismanagement during her tenure.

    • Dazed Diezani

      November 22, 2015 at 5:45 pm

My dear stop living in your anus. He is publishing as he sees it. It is good to see both sides of the story.

The one thing that surprised me: she put NOI and Dasuki in cahoots to siphon NLNG money! Will NOI reply?

    • jade

      November 22, 2015 at 10:28 pm

Diezani playing sympathy card. Expose these criminals, who you all enjoyed the money together. Honestly, most nigerian women are bald when they dont wear wigs. Shes rocking no makeup look and looks like her self. Makeup, drawjng in eyebrows, nice creams, contouring does wonders.
      Dele momodu is a joke,

This woman only barbed her hair and shaved her brows to look like a cancer patient. Why is she denying she stole money ? She even said #2.8billion naira went missing when Buhari was petroleum minister…Lmaoooooo. is she trying to justify her stealing?

Interesting that people want her rather dead. That includes aristos, Lesbians, homos, paedophiles, criminals of various degrees jump into the chorus “Deziani give us the money you stole and die after” a fad right?
Lazy generation blame Deziani for Nigeria misrule since 1960 read about her,she has never been poor. She doesn’t need to steal to have berries in her breakfast.
Same accusers hail PMB for appointing accused ex governors.
Deziani I pray you recover soon to put your accusers to shame.
Those who says she is pretending to be sick should we pray you experience a little cancer, go thru chemo so they tell us what it feels like?

You coward should leave Deziani alone and face your messiah and his appendage to give you ordinary PMS even if it’s for 100 per litre. It’s on record that fuel was bought without hitches under her.
Deziani get better jare. Haters who think every GEJ supporters who can afford a good breakfast is a thief can keep waiting for ewa agoyin hawker, who cares if they down it with agbo?

      Get well soon ma’am!

Diezani ‘s family member welcome. You can rant and rave as you wish. Let her come back to Nigeria nau and face a trial. She can continue her cancer treatment at UCH. Let her come back and prove herself innocent in a court of law.

      November 22, 2015 at 10:10 pm

What the hell is rather dead. You are either dead or not. KMT. Please Stop blackmailing people with this your fake emphathy. Nobody wants her dead. Whether you like it or not she has questions to answer to. Madam Please preserve your energy I wish you speedy recovery. You are presumed innocent until proven guilty. So there is no need to employ dele momodu well known Otinkpu of the filthy rich to plea your case by setting this pathetic scene.

    • Celeste

      November 25, 2015 at 11:08 pm

      @ Debra;
You’re here again with your negativity over Diezani. Well, I appreciate the fact that you are entitled to your opinion about her, but it doesn’t change the fact that she is innocent until proven guilty.

However, Diezani doesn’t need to employ Dele Momodu to plea nor get sympathy from you and your likes. What Dele is doing is purely JOURNALISM; its an interview (news) on a matter that has generated so much interest and so worth reportage . And as a matter of fact, i’m glad she is speaking out. She says she didn’t steal Nigeria’s money and now, we know there is another side of the story, even though the Nigeria government hasn’t said she stole – what we have are just unfounded accusations and unverified claims. God forbid this cancer kills her without been heard. Do you know what that means? Going to the grave with the tag of a thief attached to her name and her family name soiled that history will never remember them kindly. So this interview is in order.

Look at her hands and the breakfast she is having….lol. Nothing do Dizeani jare. Like the first poster said – shaved head, bald eye brows and no makeup will make anyone look sick. God rest her soul, but when Dora Akunyili made public appearance, we knew our beloved one woman battalion was indeed ill. Dizeani, girl why you lying? STop lying.

      November 22, 2015 at 1:41 pm

@Lilo i guess non of your family members have ever suffered from cancer before for you to write this rubbish. Do you know what chemotherapy is and the effects it causes on cancer patients. Nigerians are just ilerate and after we complain that their are no jobs or cannot get employed by companies. Am sure you have a mobile device which you used in typing your rubbish comment, go to your browser, type Google and then research on chemotherapy on cancer patients. And then get informed. Your cheap mobile device should not be for on Instagram, BBM, whatsapp and checking bellanaija and am sure Lindaikeji blog, sometimes use it and educate yourself on some things.

Nigerians verify facts before you comment, not all you read in the media is 100% true. Dizeani has never been a broke arse… read up on her for those of you who care to. Even the amount said in the media she embezzled and all scandals are mostly false. Abeg, before casting stones do your findings cause, many you folks out here are commenting based on propaganda.

  6. Kola

    November 22, 2015 at 11:36 am

May God heal her…. We Nigerians are hypocrites … many of you commented on Bola tinubu , do you know he his the biggest landlord in Lagos , tinubu is richer than 10 of Denziani ……a thief is a thief….but Denziani has not been convicted by any court yet, so we should wait and see the charges against her first…..

I just felt GEJ and his people were not smart , because all Denziani needed to have done was just to allocate an oil well to herself, after all all former presidents allocated lucrative oil wells to their girlfriends and cronies ,… When you are the petroleum minister you don’t need to steal from the treasury to be a billionaire , the gifts you get is enough …

My uncle was an ordinary DG , in a parastatal , when his daughter got married we got about 6 cars as wedding presents…..

How many of you has asked how mrs alakija got oil well without any experiences in the oil industry, how did Danjuma get oil well, how did sani bello get oil well, etc

If you understand the oil industry u will know that all these new billionaires you guys are seeing everywhere was because of the local content act , that allowed government to give priority to indigenous oil companies , that is why you see new players like kola aluko, omokore, abc orjiakor, igho sanomi as the new big boys,

When you are in oil industry , the profit margin for any contract is up to 50 percent , so you don’t need to steal, do you know how much these big multinational engineering companies in the oil industry were charging Nigeria government to produce our oil, when u understand you ignorant people will appreciate the local content act that made Nigerians become billionaires

At least we know that Nigerians own the monies, and the monies will be used in Nigeria …unlike before when addax, Mobil, she’ll , elf will all move these monies to their country

Anyway , make God open our eyes to see that the people we see as saints are worse theives

“At least we know that Nigerians own the monies, and the monies will be used in Nigeria …unlike before when addax, Mobil, she’ll , elf will all move these monies to their country”

Say what? I hate to say this Kola, but you’re delusional. Corruption is okay because the beneficiaries are fellow Nigerians? Mobil and the foreign companies still invest back in Nigeria. How many Nigerians are employed by the naijas you have mentioned? The individual naijas take all their money (and children) to ‘safe havens’ abroad, and acquire luxury foreign properties. What the heck are you talking about?

    • ooo

      November 22, 2015 at 10:00 pm

She did the mistake of not exposing all these oil moguls that has been siphoning our oil money but instead she turned a blind eye and accepted their gifts.

You people wishing this woman evil should be careful o, may God not allow your mother, or wives have cancer of the breast, then you will understand the pain….

First of all, I wish her healing and good health ….then if we want to charge her its okay the government can do that, but that doesn’t mean she will be convicted …

Lets just pray for her first, are we human beings or animals haba…where is our humanity

I pronounce healing on this body in Jesus name …Amen

Do you want us to sympathize with her?Okay sorry Diezani, do you feel better now uncle Dele? Now aunty Dieziani, come back home……People spoiling Igbo people’s name……

Before now, this woman is hardly seen without her signature head tie, but now she is showing a shaved head… It makes me blv she is desperately after public sympathy. If she really does have cancer, I hope she recovers from it, but she shouldn’t play the cancer card here let her work/dealing speak for her

    • Lotusflower

      November 22, 2015 at 2:55 pm

I agree. I don’t doubt that she has cancer. However, she is rarely seen without a headscarf. Now that she has cancer, a time when many patients choose (understandably) to wear scarves, she is going scarf-less. This makes her look guilty; as though she is desperate to gain sympathy and deflect attention from the scandal.

    November 22, 2015 at 1:44 pm

Interesting, since when do we accept journalists stories as evidence of truth, a story reported from one side of the allegation, no evidence, no statements of transactions, all we have is someone playing the sympathy card with a celebrity journalist. If Hosni Mubarak of Egypt can be wheeled in for court hearings, Nigeria can bring in this woman for questions. It’s funny that she can hide away in London, grant interview s in the comfort of her home, but can’t come and answer to the Nigerian people who can’t afford to go to our ill equipped hospitals. We deserve more, and all we want is respect for us and love for us as you love yourself.

Let’s not get the two things twisted Mr Dele. Here is s sick lady , All nigerians are wishing she gets well soon. It is not her illness that is being questioned. Drle be ashame for explioting this lady’s illness. Shame on you. It is not the case ,shes has being asked to help solve that has csused her to be sick.. There are hundreds even thousands of sick women in substandard nigerian hospitals , you might lend your journalism to the deplorable state of nigerian hospitals and the poor women suffering from cancer there. At least let the world see wat corruption has done to Nigeria. I know you are good friends with oga. Allow this woman get better so she can be well enough to help solve the mystery of the petroleum ministry. she is not guilty until proven otherwise. Madam if indeed you have stepped on anyone’s toes as you say, hmm, you think they will want to question you, so that you can expose them all. They will just silence you , quick, quick. Madam please hold your peace , reserve your energy and concentrate on getting better. One thing at a time.

  17. Debby Dibs

    November 22, 2015 at 2:05 pm

Despite the fact that no court has convicted this woman of embezzling money, she is maligned by Nigerians everywhere. This is why I say I will NEVER leave the comfort of my current occupation in an advanced economy to serve Nigeria as Okonji-Iweala et al did. The widespread poverty has created a mob mentality – everyone in a position of privilege must have slept her way up and robbed her way out. The issue here is not if she did it, it is the basis for that decision. If anyone can wake up and throw out numbers in billions that I stole (without proof) and Nigerians can respond in this way, then its not worth it, and as a matter of fact these offices will SELECT for people who do not care about this reputational cost, and who by implication are more likely to be corrupt.

First of all Diezani, we heard the first time when you said you didn’t steal Nigeria’s money. Second, is she not being detained by the UK authorities, or is she only in the UK for treatment? If indeed she’s being detained, they must have some serious ish on her. In that case, there are allegations she’ll have to answer to in real court. Nigerian public will not then be judge or jury. Dele Momodu is not your lawyer.

Why is it that all your stupid comments focus on the fact that she’s igbo. Stop deviating from the main issue here. It is corruption that is on trial. You keep going on bout her sickness. So she is sick are you wishing she dies?!. At least she is in a develooed country getting the best care. If your heart needs to bleed go and offer comfort to those who cannot afford morphine to cope with pain of cancer. After all president Mubarack of Egypt was taken on a stretcher to court to go and answer corruption charges. Nonsense. There is NO NIGERIAN that wish this woman illness okay. All we are asking for is for her to come and explain herself , give account of her office. Why does that seem to tear yah dirty pint ( in igbo accent). It is unfortunate for HER and her family that she seems to be the first to be questioned. But if her hands are clean why is she fronting her illness for sympathy now? . Anyway in Nigeria we do not wish illness on family, maybe that is what you guys do, cause your brothers illness even causing them death well no wonder you guys are not United enough to form Biafra. One Nigeria if you don’t want it go and form your 419 republic. Rant over don’t bother to reply your comments are all monotonous and predictable. MTCHEWWWW. I’M DONE.

She probably has cancer, but that should not get people carried away from the matter at hand. If she is going to die, I only hope that she settles with God.
