Oba & Olori Ogunwusi
Ever since the announcement of Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, now His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as the new Ooni of Ife, many have been on the lookout for the Olori.

Look no further, presenting Olori Adebisi Adebukola (Adebukunola) Ogunwusi, wife of Oba Ogunwusi of Ile Ife.

The wives of kings, princes and chiefs of royal background usually make use of the title “Olori” (the equivalent of Princess Consort, otherwise spelled “Oloori”), though some of the wives of dynastic rulers prefer to be referred to as “Ayaba” (the equivalent of Queen Consort).

Known to friends as Bukky, the Olori is the only wife of the newly crowned monarch. The couple is blessed with a daughter.

    She is gorgeous!

But honestly I can’t get past the rumors I’ve heard about the rituals required to actually get coronated for one of such posts.

And what is your business? You think the Ooni is a biscuit tittle? The Ooni is actually the chief priest of the kingdom and the Aalafin of OYO and other 1st class kings are the traditional royalty. As he is, he is the 1st amongst all the babalawo’s. You better get used to it, so they should abolish tradition because of your feelings or what? Know when to talk and when to keep SHUT, because this is a people’s tradition and many more follow the religion.

Shuo! Wetin @bade talk now wey dey bring all this vexation of sharap your mouth? I take it your morning isn’t going very good? He/she did not say tradition should be changed. Bade was expressing his/her misgivings about the process of selection!
Your aggressive response is an overkill. Calm down, smell the rose, it isn’t that deep!

THIS IS A SHARING PLATFORM. STOP BULLYING ATL FINEST!!! See your ugly fingers like keep shut! Is this your father’s blog??Are some of you even normal?!
YOU’RE LUCKY U ARE NOT TRYING THIS CRAP WITH ME!!!!
YES THERE ARE USUALLY GORY RITUALS AND OCCULTIC INCANTATIONS SORROUNDING CORONATIONS. EVEN IN EUROPEAN MONARCHIES? YES!!! WHY DO YOU THINK HIGH PRIESTESS QUEEN ELIZABETH II IS SAID TO HAVE SENT HER REPRESENTATIVE TO THIS CORONATION???
Imagine the number of Yoruba deities….how many are they? 200? maybe more. And that ooni is in contact with all of them, meeting all their requirements.
I don’t envy this man’s wife at all., despite the money and the beauty. Participating in occultic stuff and signing demonic pacts is not funny at all.

      December 12, 2015 at 3:45 pm

He will. It’s tradition and as one of my Ife peeps told me. “Don’t you pity his wife. Do you know all the spiritual empowerment he has had. You want her to handle that all alone. Pity her now..” Never heard of an Ooni who had one wife.

just wanted to state, royalty in yoruba land is not synonymous with polygamy. its a matter of choice. my own monarch, the Alake of Egba land is a medical doctor with one wife! Also, the olofa of Offa in Kwara State has just one wife and he’s even a muslim. These are 1st class monarchs so its a matter of choice to marry 2nd and 3rd wives…
