Lagos Court Jails 6 Men Accused of Kidnapping Babington Macauley Secondary School Girls

BM GirlsThe Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded in prison six men accused of the alleged kidnap of three girls of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary College in Ikorodu, Lagos.

While giving the order, the Chief Magistrate, O.I. Adelaja, stated that the accused would remain in the Ikoyi Prisons pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions. She then adjourned the case till April 25.

The six accused arraigned before the court include, Emmanuel Arigidi, 37; Gift Pius, 30; Fred Omoni, 32; Geofrey Owei, 28; Seun Akanji, 33; and Segun James, 29; who are facing a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, kidnap, armed with offensive weapons and robbery.

Meanwhile, one of the six men, Arigidi, was accused of other crimes including robbing several banks in the Ikorodu area and a new generation bank at Admiralty Way, Lekki, where he carted away N24.5 million.
