So Sad… Read this Twitter User’s Eyewitness Account of an Ongoing Suicide Attempt in Lekki
This morning, a Twitter user sent in photos and videos of a man attempting to commit suicide by in Ikate, Lekki.
According to Ken Egbas, the man was persuaded to come down from an electric pole but he refused. The man says he won’t come down from the electric pole unless he gets 5 million Naira.
Officials from PHCN, Nigerian Police Force and Fire Service later arrived at the scene but they were not “well-equipped” to carry out a rescue operation.
In the end, a neighbour provided an inflatable trampoline in an attempt to persuade the man to come down.
As at the time of this report he is yet to get off the electric pole but thankfully the appropriate authorities are now on ground to help.
