So, the Ooni is trying to prove he practices all religion from Ogun, to Jesus then Allah. Next is maybe Budha. First of all, devout Muslims will never pretend to sit in the midst of Christians like that. This is the problem with Nigerians and religion. You claim to serve one God but worship different gods. The Bible made it clear, you can’t serve two masters. If you don’t believe Christ is the son of God, you are out. Don’t play God, Ooni.

Can you allow me take a guess ? You felt smart typing this rubbish right ?

When the bible said Solomon was a wise man , what do you think his brain was like? Yours or the Ooni?

He is a leader, his allegiance is to God and his people ,please point out how he has failed….

The pope relates with every major religious group, have you forgotten Abraham’s generation leads Islam, and God promises still dwells with them because heaven and earth will pass before his words does.

Please how do I like your comment a hundred times? People like Damilola are the problem we have in this world. The same bible says “Judge not, so that ye may not be judged”. The Ooni is king over people with different religions who acknowledge that there is one God, so he has to relate with every religion as he chooses, moreso he is a grown man and you have no right to tell a grown man what to do. On a lighter note, I really like sallah rice and big meat……..

Thank you TEE for your wise comments. Our major problem are those who are so self righteous and dwell on playing prefect over other people’s relationships with God. Everyone’s relationship with God is PERSONAL. No one has a right to judge…..and the houses of worship should be open to anyone who is willing to enter in peace.
Damilola, focus on your own salavation and leave others to theirs….and be kind, if you’re truly christ’s servant. He was not spiritually arrogant like the way you’re portraying yourself.

Lol….and you are the smart one? ok smarty pant. Oh what a shocker!!! Islam came from Abraham. Have you forgotten Ishmael was a result of disobedience to God. Islam and Christianity remind me of the dynamic between a child born out of wedlock and one born in a marriage to the same father. Both children are blessed by their father but there’s fight, jealousy, anger to who will have full access to their father’s inheritance. Of course, Christ is much deeper than that. The scripture of judge not, only God can judge has been taken out of context that it’s not worth addressing. Let me just say folks will use it the most is to condone more sin in their lives. You sure don’t want God’s judgement bcos our judgement is nothing compared to that.

Pope is the worst example. Who were the land promised to? Who did God send to die for our sins? I stand 100% by comment. I’m a sinner but doesn’t mean I can’t speak the TRUTH. Nigerians need to stop mixing up their gods like how they do with their soups. You have to choose one and stick to it. Christ is clear on serving other gods.

@Damilola did NOT type “”rubbish”” but the Word of God.

“””No one can serve two masters.”” Matthew 6:24

“”JESUS saith: “”I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to (God) the FATHER except through Me.”” John 14: 6

“”Salvation exists in no one else. For there is no other name under Heaven given to mankind by God by which we must be saved.”” Acts 4: 12

“”For the time will come when men will no longer tolerate sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around themselves a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”” 2 Timothy 4: 3

@Damilola never claimed “”to have no sin””. And that is not the point. Is @Damilola and anyone else speaking immutable/unchanging Word of the one and only true and living GOD?

HE created us. No matter what titles, position, earthly power, authority, riches we are allowed to have, we remain forever HIS creation. NOT the other way round. It doesn’t matter the number of voices raised against HIS Word and against HIM, against those who speak HIS Word, it doesn’t matter how any laws men pass against HIS Word, against HIS Laws, and against HIS Church. We remain HIS creation. It is even more laughable and puny than the rantings of ants against humans. HE has advised, taught, counselled and warned us, that HIS Word cannot and will never change neither pass away. Judgment Day will come and there will be no appeal. We will ALL be judged by that same unchanging Word of the ONE unchanging God.

“”People like Damilola are the problem we have in this world. “” NO. People like @Damilola are messengers of The ONE AND ONLY SOLUTION we are given in this world. They are actually angels of mercy, pointing us to The Way, The Truth and The Life and away from eternal damnation and hell fire.

May The Almighty God continue to empower, protect, employ, bless and reward “”people like @Damilola”” in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I agree with Damilola. People have so much turned the “judge not” verse upside down. Jesus will just look down and shake His head at what we’ve turned His word into. The Oba cannot and should not serve every god…The fact that he’s king does not mean he should be moved wherever the wind is moving. You can be a Christian and wish Muslims Eid Mubarak! Heck, all my closest friends are Muslims. But that does not mean I go to mosque neither do they come to church. We have a mutual understanding, and we accommodate one another well. They wish me Merry Christmas, and I wish them Eid Mubarak. The Bible also says do not be unequally yoked. There are boundaries that should NOT be crossed. I will not go to a mosque to prove I am OK with Islam. There’s no need. I will NOT deny Christ but at the same time I am at peace and have nothing against people who do not believe in Jesus. Jesus came to this world for the sick; not the healthy. And He loves both the Jews and the Gentiles. He does NOT discriminate.

Tor, after all the long note, God bless us all and Eid Mubarak!

@Damilola and Shema, I stand with and am proud of you for standing by the Truth.

This may rile both some Christians and non-Christians alike. Christians do not serve the same God as the Muslims. Our God is the Creator of the heavens and earth (the Universe). He is Invisible, He has not prescribed any physical representation by any image (carved, moulded, casted, drawing, etc. See Exodus 20:) and has power over life and death. Our God has an “only begotten Son” Jesus Christ who was born by a virgin by conception of the Holy Spirit. He died (actually killed) and resurrected by His own power to redeem mankind. No other god has such power over life and death or is able to give life or raise anyone from death. Our redemption and salvation is based on acceptance of the redemption price paid by Jesus to give us eternal life. This is the basis of our Christian faith.

Any true Christian who doubts this proposition should go and examine the Bible and his/her profession of Christianity and challenge this belief. Shalom

To practice religious tolerance does not mean you should go and worship with everybody in his own faith. To be a man of peace as a people’s leader does not mean you should become unstable, Is it not even a mockery to sit down there on the mat with them when he know nothing they were saying in Arabic language. I will like to see the Alaafin of Oyo in Church on Christmas day or the Emir of Kano on Easter day. I appreciate that the Ooni is a man of peace, Bible says ” be at peace with all men..” but Bible did not say you must go and worship with them in their religious practice… Exodus 20:3-6 is very clear and still in force!

jamce na the same God jor. Go and read the Bible and the Quran. I think the disparity must have come from man sha. when we die we shall all understand God’s way. until then do you and let others do them. No claim of superiority over the other.

    • Naijatalk

      September 13, 2016 at 1:17 pm

NO Fiona, it is NOT the same God. Christians believe in a Triune God consisting of God the Father, who is same as, but a distinct entity from God the Son, equally same, but a distinct entity from God the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can help us understand this. This is a fundamental belief, integral to Christian faith and cannot and should not be glossed over when comparing the two faiths so again, I reaffirm, NOT the same God. The early adherents may share similar ancestry but that’s where it ends.

      September 13, 2016 at 6:21 pm

naija talk I reaffirm same God…I am a christian but sometimes Christians and their air of SUPERIROITY and we better attitude not. I have read the bible and the quaran and for me the ways are different the God is the same, the stories are the same. so jews too dont worship the same God? woh my sister abi brother till we die and understand why God chose to do it this way a beg do you and yes I have the holy spirit

Y’all raising dust so how does it concern you all how a grown man chooses to worship!. A man that attends mosque and church etc. but has a good heart and genuinely loves his neighbor as himself and a Man that goes to church daily but has a heart as dark as dark can be ,which one of them will make heaven??? Everything isn’t black and white so stop jumping into conclusion as you don’t know every aspect of people’s life. Salvation is a personal race!! Fight for your own salvation

@ TEE there is different between associating with different religion and worshiping with them.. Pope associates with people of other religion because we are created by one God even though some people may not agree to that but it is the fact. Pope can never sit and worship with them as Ooni did. @ Damilola how do you mean that Pope is the worst example, finish your statement.

Who can tell the heart of GOD ALMIGHTY, who amongst us all know GOD’s intention to have allowed Ishmael to have survived and gave him a dynasty and religion after him. I want us all to remember one cogent fact which is the fact that Abraham was called a father of faith by GOD and not a father of religion. Islam, Christianity and Jew all came into existence through father Abraham and are all a way of exercising our faith in a religious way. Therefore I see no iota of hypocrisy in a christian praying in the way of islam and vice versa. The world needs peace and not religious war. Thanks and may GOD bless us all.
