Amnat Salubthong, 43, turned himself in on Tuesday after a video of him brutalising a 7-year-old in a housing complex on Panya-Ramintra Road in the Khlong Sam Wa district North-Eastern Bangkok, went viral.
Salubthong, who was seen stomping on the child’s head, said he did that because he thought the child had made his 6-year-old son cry.
He said that he ran down from his fifth floor room to where the children were playing because he heard his son crying. He also admitted to brutalizing the child because he could not control his rage.
In the video, Salubthong ran down the stairs, to where two other children and his son were playing. One of the children, on seeing, Salubthong ran away from the area, but before the victim could get away, Salubthong charged at him, kicking him repeatedly before taking his son back upstairs to his apartment.
