More and more these days social media has become an outlet for people who want to settle disputes with family or friends and while a number of people feel it is unnecessary to put out your private business on the internet (the internet never forgets, right), others feel it is brave.
Recently Nollywood producer Yomi Fabiyi asked his wife for a divorce via social media and now Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman is apologizing to his wife for his infidelity on social media too.
The American singer and his wife Sharonda Jones got married back in 2001 and they have lived a somewhat private life so people were surprised when he posted a since-deleted video to his Instagram account apologizing to his wife and 48k followers, as well, while seeking their forgiveness.
Many of his followers seem to be supportive of his honesty and have offered words of encouragement. However, some questioned why he didn’t just keep it to himself in addition to pointing out he’s not taking full responsibility.
What do you think of public apologies?
