NATIVELAND organizers, The NATIVE, have successfully produced the very first edition of the festival, which was held on Saturday, December 22nd, 2016 at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

The festival kicked off with performances from various upcoming DJ’s and young talented artistes. Small bites were sold by food vendors and alcoholic beverage was made free for all by Jameson. With all these on deck, festival goers had a great energy level and were in full festival mode.

Performances by mainstream artistes started off with YCEE who brought the crowd alive by performing the acapella version of his popular hit “Jagaban”. The night continued with performances from DRB Lasgidi who kept the crowd hyped and pumped, this ushered in Ajebutter 22 who got on stage and thrilled festival-goers with his several hits. J HUS stepped on stage and took the crowd to a whole new level, he gave such an epic performance which led to the entrance of Skepta whose performance was the ultimate climax of the festival performances. Performing his old hit to current hits, Skepta got the crowd cheering from when he got on stage till when he left.

NATIVELAND 2016 closed with performances from Burna Boy who came on stage as Dj Spinall (the headline DJ) queued in “Gba Gbe E”. Burna Boy closed the NATIVELAND stage by bringing the festival vibes to a roaring high-point.
