Maki Oh romanticizes the art of Aso Ebi with its Spring/Summer 2017 Collection | Lookbook

There are many reasons fashion enthusiasts look to Maki Oh every season.

But the one thing that always stands out for the brand is the art of romanticizing the aso ebi effect into modern and contemporary pieces.

This stands true in the Nigerian design label’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, and it somewhat presents the idea that – just like aso ebi – every woman can rock a particular piece in her own unique way.

For S/S 17, we are presented with print dresses, sporty mesh tops and skirts, lace and silk satin with fringe amongst others.

This is just so off and it doesn’t capture the essence of the “ASO EBI” culture of the yoruba. It’s just not clicking I don’t know why.

While we’re still on the copy cat matter, that last dress looks so Ejiro Amos Tafirish .
