Appeal Court Rejects President Trump’s bid to Restore Travel Ban

President Donald Trump

A San Francisco court has rejected a motion by the U.S. Justice Department to immediately reinstate U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco posted the denial on its website early Sunday.

This is coming hours after the Justice Department filed for an emergency stay of a suspension of Trump’s travel ban.

The Justice Department argued in its appeal that a Seattle district court’s ruling on Friday suspending Trump’s travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries “harms the public,” “Second-guesses the president’s national security judgment,” and was “accompanied by virtually no legal analysis.”

Trump issued an executive order on January 27 that temporarily suspended the U.S. refugee programme, banned travelers from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen for 90 days and indefinitely banned Syrian refugees.

The appeal court said the states of Washington and Minnesota, are to issue their opposition to the Justice Department emergency motion by 11:59pm PST (0759 GMT Monday).

The two states had filed the initial challenge to the travel ban.

Trump’s reply in support of the emergency motion is due by Monday at 3 pm (2300 GMT).

Let this be a lesson to the ‘deplorables” who support this man. He can say all kinds of sh*t and you can invent all manner of reasons why his behavior is justified and claim he just wants to protect America blah blah blanketty blah. At the end of the day, U.S. law will prevail in showing him to be the most incompetent, resentful and small-minded person to ever be elected president. Two weeks in, and courts are striking down his signature move because it is entirely based on emotional prejudice and resentment against the people he doesn’t like, not reasoned responsible judgment. He can barely put together a coherent and legally sound executive order because he is a foolish man who thinks he knows better than experts.

Continue following the fool as he dances off the cliff.

Hope the Nigerian judiciary system is taking note.. This is how citizen’s civic rights are protected and the constitution of the land upheld!!
Unfortunately, our judge’s are cash and carry and have failed Nigeria’s over and over at every juncture when their rights are being abused by the very government that ought to protect its own citizens.

The problem with this guy is that he is so rich and powerful that the people around him have never been able to tell him the truth for fear of being Fired. And he has shown an example of how he ran his business firing people who told him the gods honest truth hence the sacking of the acting attorney general. Well at least for now he fires them (Idi Amin use to cannibalise his opponents)The truth is that Trump is a LIAR. A child will tell him this for FREE. But his close people pat him on the back and call his Obnoxious lies alternative facts. He reminds me of the Emperor in the fable the Emperors New Clothes. Like the Emperor he is going to expose himself one of these days. The world is watching. Huge lesson will be learnt.
