Designer for Off-White Virgil Abloh, Rumored to be the next Creative Director at Givenchy
The news broke last week that Riccardo Tisci, the creative director at Givenchy for about 12 years, had departed the french house. Click here is you missed the story.
Just last night, Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) reported that the management team at Givenchy have been in talks with the creator and creative director for the edgy Off-White label, Virgil Abloh.
The Chicago-born Abloh was a finalist for the LVMH prize for young designers in 2015, and has been the creative head at Kanye West’s label. He is also a trained engineer, architect and DJ.
This appointment would make him the first black designer to head a storied Haute Couture house.
