Nervous reflections on their journey

One thing is certainly clear from today’s Eviction Diaries: Unlike week’s passed, the Housemates see their fellow Nominees as worthy adversaries and are a lot more nervous about getting sent home than usual. The fact that the grand prize is within reach and a double Eviction could be on the cards only adds to the anxiety. That said, everyone seemed to have elected to remain optimistic.

Kicking things off was Debie-Rise who confided in Biggie that she had faith that people were going to keep her in the game citing her “talent” and “respectfulness” as her strongest traits. Now while she might be quite fond of her guitar, Efe is certainly not. He went as far as saying he thinks she’s being divisive and deliberately irritating people by playing it constantly. It makes sense now why he snapped at her on Thursday when she tried to bring it with her into the glass booth they had been asked to get into by Biggie. He did however point out that he was confident about his odds as well as ThinTallTony’s because they’d been “the most hardworking and consistant” Housemates.

TBoss certainly wasn’t as confident about her chances and felt that TTT and Efe in particular were “loved” outside the House. Biggie asked her if she’d change anything if she got the chance to do this all again and she said she’d try not to get too attached and be a bit more selfish. She did say however that she’d greatly enjoyed her time on the show especially the games. This was a sentiment echoed by TTT who rounded the sessions off saying that he’d loved the personal and artistic growth the show had given him.

He also said he felt quite optimistic but had an inkling that tonight’s Eviction might be a shocker with Efe getting sent home. He argued that this was because Efe had been a bit off his pace lately.

ThinTallTony bows Out

Much like week’s past, TTT won virtually, every single challenge that was thrown at him including the Payporte Arena Games (for a third time!) It is precisely because of this that he was often seen as a tenacious competitor and “threat” by the other Housemates who were absolutely shocked to learn that he was heading home when Ebuka broke the news. It was clear that many of them had already figured that he’d make it all the way to the finale but this is Big Brother and if there’s one thing that’s always rang true it’s the fact that you can never pre-empt what the viewers are thinking.

With both Debie-Rise and Efe being declared safe earlier in the show it was down to just ThinTallTony and TBoss. When the former’s name got read out by Ebuka there were audible gasps from the other Housemates and Bisola immediately started weeping. He hugged her and let her know it was going to be okay before telling everyone that they’d been “amazing” and that he “loved them all!” As the doors closed, they all sat quietly on the couches, shocked and still trying to process everything that had just happened.

Then came the interview that everyone was waiting to hear. ThinTallTony came out on stage looking very energised and let everyone know that he was “living his dream” and had waited “12 years” for the chance to be on this show. TTT then turned to the matter at hand making it clear that what happened between him and Bisola “was not real” and they’d “talked” about it. “It’s a game!” he kept reiterating. He also made it clear to Ebuka that he didn’t appreciate how people treated “married” people so he decided to keep his personal life “private” and never speak about his wife and children whom he refused to discuss despite Ebuka’s best attempts to coax an answer out of him.

It’s the ultimate HoH title

Biggie told the Housemates during the show to make their way to the Arena which was awash with colour as the Housemates were greeted with an Arena full of balloons. where they were to compete for a very important Head of House challenge. They were told that this was the Ultimate HoH Card and he told them that the meaning of the card would be revealed on Monday Night.

Ebuka told the Housemates to go into the Arena where they were met with a huge amount of balloons. They had to pop the balloons and search for the letters that spelled the words – Head of House. The first person to successfully spell the word out would win the new title of Ultimate Head of House

Biggie told the Housemates to Freeze and then got them popping balloons again, telling them to first pop the balloons using their bums and then their hands again. In a laborious Task, the sound of poppingt balloons filled the Arena as some of the Housemates got visibly flustered. TBoss was obviously wanting to win this one as each piece of paper that didn’t correspond to what she needed was thrown to the floor angrily.

Debie-Rise desperately searched for a “D,”. Biggie opted for a game of patience, this time. Bally looked daunted by the sheer volume of balloons in front of him as he and Bisola discussed the futility of the Task ahead. Debie-Rise came close but eventually, a triumphant Efe held his spelt words and was pronounced the new Head of House.
