“Don’t forget those who helped you when you were nothing” – Yung6ix gives $10,000 as birthday gift to longtime friend who gave him 10,000 Naira to start his career

KKTBM rapper, Onome Onokohwomo, better known by his stage name Yung6ix today surprised his longtime friend with a birthday gift of 10,000 US dollars.

According to him, this very friend was the one who gave him 10,000 Naira when he was to come pursue his music career in Lagos 8 years ago. Though his birthday is not till tomorrow, Yung6ix decided to surprise his friend by giving him the gift a day early.

He said:

8 years ago @imblackking gave me 10,000 Naira to come to Lagos to chase my dream as an artiste, without that 10k there would be no Yung6ix today. Showed him I’m grateful by giving him 10,000 dollars today. Strictly for motivational purposes only. Don’t just be great be grateful and don’t forget those who helped you when you where nothing

Wow. This is a huge act of kindness. God bless you sir. We should always remember those who have assisted us in one way or the other to get to the top or whatever position we are now even if it ain’t the top yet. Just show appreciation. The Bible also encourages that too. Give and it will come back to you. Good measures, pressed down and shaken together in abundance shall men give unto thy bosom. Givers never lack. One good turn deserves another. I wish we could all imbibe this. The world would be a better place.

To encourage others and to show appreciation.
Saying that, it would’ve come across nicer coming from his friend

My thoughts too. When you announce your ‘charity or gratitude in this manner it looks really off. Nigerians brag at the slightest oportunity. If i were the friend id feel uncomfortable with the so called gift

Because he’s honoring the friend. Saying to the world I’m doing this because of what you did for me. “Open rebuke is better than secret love” not all giving should be done behind closed doors.

Very nice gesture and even though he said it was for motivational purposes he could have gone without announcing that. The Bible says the left had should not know what the right hand gives. I got that social media is a thing now but when it comes to acts of kindness we must try not to sing our own praises. Nevertheless amazing gesture and may God bless him ten gold.

Why the announcement? I mean how would he have felt if his friend back in the day had gone around announcing to everyone he had given him 1000 Naira. There is no need for that. When you give charity you don’t need to announce it, to feel big and gather praises from people. let God who sees everything reward you. How many likes on instafakeblessing is comparable to Gods own blessing. And you don’t need to be a Christian to know this basic common sense principle of humility and modesty.

…then he actually counts the wad of dollar biils on video and hands it over to the friend on video! Just wow! If I were the friend, I wouldn’t partake in such foolery. Also, did this take place in Naija? Se the friend knows that armed robbers can track him for that $10000.

. There are people out there who give charity quietly , to people they don’t even no,people who have never done them any favours before . And you are here making a big show of paying back a loan with Interest accrued mtchewwwwwww. Something DEY do you. Abeg enter house. If you want to motivate “pay it forward” sponsor young musicians or anyone looking for a way into the industry/ school or a career of their choice. That is how to pay back by “”paying it forward”” YEYEFOWL .

… that’s how one weexy or weecy guy on Instagram too gave his shoes to a roadside seller who commented on the shoes, and still had time make a video of the “giving”….this isn’t cool at all, it’s all for the gram and show I believe

Only block heads will watch this and be impressed. So you have to tell and show the world that u gave ur friend money? Really? What if ur friend did so when he gave u the 10k years ago? How would u feel? And the friend stood there while the video was being shot? Naija celebrities and their lies though. Alk for the gram and the thick brains who buy into their nonsense. This is beyond tasteless. You could have just praised the guy for his help rather than show yourself counting the money and ‘dashing’ him.
Meanwhile, please who is he? How come he even has this money? With which songs? People still believe all these celebrities? Na wa

it is nice to remember good deeds. however, he should have returned to deed in kind. his friend gave him the money in private, he should have done same. I blame the friend too for engaging in the foolery.
