Pepsi has Pulled its Controversial Kendall Jenner Campaign
Pepsi today announced that it will remove their recently released campaign featuring Model Kendall Jenner, which sparked an immediate online backlash.
The Soda company released a statement saying;
“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologise, We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further roll out. We also apologise for putting Kendall Jenner in this Position”.
In the campaign, Kendall participates in a photoshoot before joining a group of protesters and offering a police officer a Pepsi, and this was accused of appropriating the Black Lives Matter movement and using social justice to sell soda.
