CAIRO, EGYPT – MAY 26: A wounded woman of St. Samuels Monastery attack is taken to the Nasser Institute For Research and Treatment, after the attackers opened fire on a bus carrying Coptic Christians in Egypts southern Minya province, in Cairo, Egypt on May 26, 2017. It is reported that total of 26 people were killed in the attack.

Gunmen attacked a group of Coptic Christians as they were driving to a monastery south of Cairo on Friday, killing at least 28 and wounding dozens including children, the governor of Egypt’s Minya province, Essam al-Bedaiwy, said.

The group was traveling in two buses and a small truck in Minya province, which is home to a sizeable Christian minority, the sources said.

Eyewitnesses said the Copts were attacked as they were going to pray at the monastery of Saint Samuel the Confessor in the western part of the province.

They said masked men stopped the vehicles on a road leading to the monastery and opened fire.

Coptic Christians, who make up about 10 percent of Egypt’s population of 92 million, have been the subject of a series of deadly attacks in recent months.

About 70 have been killed in bomb attacks on churches in the cities of Cairo, Alexandria and Tanta since December.

Those attacks were claimed by Islamic State.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Friday’s attack.

Two suicide bombings killed 44 people in Coptic churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday.

President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, promptly declared a three-month state of emergency.

The UN Security Council on Friday also condemned the attack.

The council expressed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Egypt, and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

The 15-member Council, whose rotating membership currently includes Egypt, began a regularly scheduled meeting on Friday with a moment of silence in honour of the victims.

In a statement that followed, the Council reiterated that “terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.”

“The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack that took place on a bus travelling to a monastery in Minya, Egypt.”

Perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these “reprehensible acts of terrorism” need to be brought to justice, the members said.

The statement, issued by the Council President for May 2017, Elbio Rosselli (Uruguay), called on Governments to cooperate actively with the Egyptian Government and all relevant authorities.

“The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.”

The 15-member Council reiterated “that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed”.

Live and let live people and this world wouldn’t be this crazy jungle, why kill people all because they don’t share your faith. So sad. But the day of reckoning draws near.

Duz any1 else get a special thrill – guilty pleasure when u witness Arabs blowing each other to smitherings. it makes the steak on my plate taste more delicious.
I believe its fair to say this kind human being duzn’t really care about life – not in the slightest way above a mosquito or a Fly cares about theirs!
b So why not convert them into fireworks if that’s what they so desperately desire.

Thing to keep in mind is WAR is expensive. After the dust settles in the desert some body is going to have to pay for all this.

And countries like Nigeria and other subsaharan countries have for long being the Farm, the middle East gets its fruits from (4 very cheap)

The united states gave the Europeans weapons to obliterate their cities in the WW2. then offered them loans to rebuild those cities right back in the Marshal plan. Economic Slavery @ it’s finest!

During the slave trade most of the slaves the Arabs caught! went to fetch lucrative prices in European slave markets. that’s to say they stole from Africans and sold to the whites in order to get the money to build their fancy cities in the middle of the sand which today they are tearing down.

Like I said war is expensive; somebody is going to have to pay for all of this damage lest the middle East should re-enter 3’d World.

I don’t see why the trend duznt have to repeat. With Donald trump remarks africa needs to be recolonised for her resources.
Am not sure if he was counting on the Ethics police that is U.S.A to get her hands dirty! Even tho he said: Obama founded & owns ISIS!

Meanwhile the only thing occupying the average African’s mind right now! is counting the jellof tablets left on his plate!

YO BETTER WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE COMING…

@Diffuse, this isn’t Arabs killing themselves though. This is an attack on Christians in North Africa and it’s been going on for a long time. But even it were Arabs killing themselves, why should that make you happy? No human being deserves such a fate, not even Arabs!

All hail : the “religion of peace”. And like always, there is a resounding silence from all the “good moslems”, when they should be speaking out in condemnation of this heinous act.

If this isn’t hatred in one of its worst forms, I don’t know what is.

Why???? And the cowardice involved – opening fire on defenceless people who were just going about their harmless business!!

Particularly when you even consider that Ramadan fasting has just begun. So this is how the killers pronounce and celebrate this god of theirs? Despicable human beings, completely rabid dogs; I hope a well-placed bomb wipes your slime from humanity very soon.
