Hello there BellaStylistas! Today we have our trend radar on the kimono pyjama set trend that has taken over Instagram. Basically, a kimono is a light robe or cover-up that usually comes in tropical prints and popping colours. It was initially from Japanese origins but big brands like Gucci and Zara have made it a modern fashion staple. This summer, we have seen a lot of our favourite fashionistas rocking the trend including Toke Makinwa, Tiwa Savage and Kelly Rowland. The trend is quite simple really, it’s an easy lounge wear that still makes anyone look like a fashionista. How to Style the Trend

  • Easy and Chic

You can try a layered look, go for flared pants and a loosely fitted kimono set. Kimonos, in my opinion, should look like they were thrown on effortlessly but still chic. For a very casual look opt for comfy footwear. Throw on your summer sandals or slides, or you could opt for a more daring look with sneakers.

  • Step It Up with Heels

Most people opt for a matching kimono and pant set to give off the pyjama style and elevate the look with high heeled sandals so that the outfit doesn’t look too casual.

  • Slim Fit and Trendy

Try pairing your kimono with skinny jeans. The best thing about styling the trend is that it does not require too much effort. If you’re going for a fitted look, all you need is a pair of skinny jeans and a fitted top or t-shirt.

  • Go for Shorter Lengths

Kimonos come in various lengths, so choose the one that you’re most comfortable with. If you don’t want a dramatic look then avoid ankle-length versions and choose calf-length designs instead. Channel summer vibes and rock a kimono with denim beach shorts or matching shorts.
