I am not much of a fashionista but – doesn’t the MET Gala have a different theme each year? So this dress code was I guess to go over the top? Will they watch the movie? Because all these head pieces won’t let people see oh. …

Nigeria is such a funny country with even funnier celebs. So you don’t act in a movie, its not even done in your country, its not beneficial to you in any way and you stage a Met Gala look alike for it. Bless all the celebrities with common sense for not showing up. Reserve the show stoppers for a Nollywood event.

You can still be concerned about all those issues and have fun at the same time. Human beings are capable of multi tasking, and multi tasking effectively

Most of them look quite fabulous.
I’m a bit confused though. How can a movie premiere be “MET themed? I had to Google to double check the meaning/origin of MET

‘m also concerned about the apparent adoption of anything west/american by our entertainers/oap/influencers. Nigeria fashion industry is booming and still has such a large potential considering the youth population. Shouldn’t our NIGERIAN entertainers be using it as an opportunity to showcase OUR OWN couture? Our own designers and fashion influence? How come na so so imported clothes/designers they wear? Abi is the long weekend making me overthink?
Then again, how many indigenous fashion brands appreciate OUR OWN couture? Most of them are overtly influenced by Oyinbo sef.
    Happy holidays

You share my thoughts exactly. And her body is so banging that it pains me to think someone’s taking her money for this kind of disservice.

Ufuoma, you are such a babe…. please shop around for a better stylist, this person you’re working with just isn’t delivering the goods.

chai. I dont want to laugh abeg. Omoni you look like a 1980’s bridesmaid, bring down your shoulders its always too high and stiff. Do you, biko, see effort.. Ufuoma fab figure, effortless chic, not sure where you are headed though. Osas well done. Kate Henshaw looks ok for the carnival that is held in Calabar during Christmas. Toke looks acrimonious lol. Taje lovely. Jemima your crown or whatever is bent. In fact y’all need to give it up! this falsehood is nauseating.

I may not understand the objective behind the premiere or the theme, but I am happy for indigenous fashion designers that get a chance to test their creativity and put their work in the public eye (which this premiere, as confusing as it may be, does). There’s still room for improvement but I am proud of our indigenous fashion industry. They are getting there!

Copy cats. Please whats with the hideous head pieces. The one Shaffy Bello wore was just ridiculous. Vimbai was the best dressed.

Which one is MET gala theme? Isn’t the MET gala a themed event itself…

WHen Nina first modeled this Omoni’s gown on her birthday I thought it was a bit odd cos she didn’t have a cinched waist, but seeing same on Omoni, I can safely say the dress is at fault. Toyin Lawani went for the old English look but totally missed the cinhed waist they were famous for.
