Bolanle Austen-Peters & Ben Okri discuss Theresa May’s visit to Nigeria on BBC

The visit of British Prime Minister Theresa May to Nigeria has drawn attention to the relationship between Nigeria and the UK. This is in the face of growing interest in Africa from China and other emerging giants.

The visit, which is part of a three-nation trip to Africa, is Theresa May’s first visit to the continent as Prime Minister and the first visit by a British Prime Minister to Sub-Saharan Africa since 2013. The Prime Minister’s message focused on a renewed partnership between the UK and Africa.

Bolanle Austen-Peters and Ben Okri were invited by the BBC to discuss UK and Nigeria relationship in view of Theresa May’s visit to Nigeria. According to Bolanle Austen-Peters, The truth of the matter is the UK is trying to get back through this relationship they are trying to build now. And I’m sure that a lot of people will view it with skepticism.
