Mr. P has copped his first award since leaving now-defunct duo music group Psquare. Over the weekend, the singer won the 2018 International Achievement Recognition Awards (IARA) for Best International Male Artist.

Although Mr. P regrettably announced his absence at the award event which held on Saturday, 22nd September due to his US/Canadian tour, he recently picked up the award and gave a heartwarming shout out to his fans for the support.

He shared on Instagram:

Team P this one is for Us! Thanks for the love and support. This is just the beginning ???… I MAY NOT BE THERE YET, BUT I’M CLOSER THAN I WAS YESTERDAY. Thank you so much!?? @iara_awards @pclassicgroup#SlowButSteady #AlwaysBelieveInYourSelf#Freedom#NeverBeAfraidToStartOverAgain#GodWorksInAmazingWays Mr P is here.

He also added in another post on his page:

Yes Guys we did it! We won!!! My very first award as a solo act! You guys made this happen. INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT RECOGNITION AWARDS ?? Slow and Steady but surely! God is great???? To @iara_awards my profound thanks, I was hoping to be in London but as you’re aware, I’m in the middle of my US/Canadian Tour at the moment! I will be by to pick up my award personally.
Thanks again and I’d like to dedicate this award to my super fans and my awesome son Cameron who’s birthday is today. Double celebration for sure?? More coming……. Win win win no matter what??????? Never give up,Be inspired

We are waiting to Paul Okoye to get his own award. Peter is proving to the world that he is better off without his brother

This is so sad. One half of the PSquare brothers winning a nameless award. Division is bad o! PSquare were arguably the richest, most acclaimed in Africa with back to back shows. Now this!
