“Most people think it’s the shoes you wear that determine the moves you make. So not true… it’s the vision you carry, the dream in your heart and the people in your corner’’Udo Okonjo Founder iWOW. Putting your best foot forward in 2019 and making power moves requires you to get clarity, an understanding of what to commit to and make connections with other like-minded women who are as passionate about their goals as you.

This was why the Inspired Women of Worth Breakfast (iWOW) series was organized. The theme ‘Put Your Best Foot Forward’ was chosen because we believe that the beginning of the year is the best time to evaluate the experiences and wins of the past year, pick the lessons and gear up to make power moves in the new year.

The Breakfast event held simultaneously in Lagos and Abuja, Saturday, January 26th, 2019 with the Lagos edition hosting keynote speaker Michelle McKinney Hammond, the celebrated author and media personality as well as a panel of amazing women from various prestigious corporate and entrepreneurial endeavors like Chinyere Okorocha, partner at Jackson Etti&Edu one of the leading law firms in Nigeria. Also, Esiri Agbeyi a partner at PWC, Angela Okafor, MD Parkview Astoria Hotel and Ifechukwu Onyeka-Patrick a leading architect and entrepreneur.

Attendees at the iWOW Breakfast Series, Abuja got a full experience as well with seasoned speakers such Laila St. Matthew-Daniel an emotions coach, Chineze Okeke an etiquette specialist & Izehi Anuge an excellence consultant. The 3 key lessons from the iWOW Breakfast Series were:

  1. Clarity of purpose and goals is pivotal for women who want to put their best foot forward. It will not only guide their decision but it will give them staying power when they are faced with challenges in pursuing their dreams.
  2. The Confidence to make power moves is in every woman. This is activated when she takes action.
  3. The connection with a tribe that supports encourages and empowers is a woman’s secret superpower. Her ability to stay connected, add value and be valued contributes immensely to her success as a human being.

Also, the Accra version was really phenomenal. Michelle McKinney Hammond again was at Accra with Udo Okonjo as keynote speakers, followed by the power panellists, in the likes of Isobel Acquah; a Transactions and Corporate Advisory lawyer, Claudia Lumor who is the Publisher of Glitz Magazine and Adelaide Addo-Fening; an International Development Consultant.
