Every day, more and more women are getting equipped to get into jobs and careers that society may have said is not for them, thanks to the people leading several initiatives aimed at empowering women.

One of them is #BellaNaijaWCW today Omobolanle Banwo is a brand identity, user interface/user experience designer, illustrator and animator. She’s also the founder of Founder of TFDm (The Female Designer Movement), “an initiative created to encourage women to design by empowering them with knowledge based skills to launch them into the world of Computer Graphics.”

TFDm was founded in 2018, and in that year alone, held 4 sessions – in Lagos, Ibadan, and Monrovia, Liberia – training no fewer than 800 ladies in total.

TFDm also matches some of the girls with internship gigs in companies to help them continue on the path with real work experience.

Omobolanle is also the founder of Geneza Brands, an “agency enthusiastic about helping brands tell compelling stories through visual communication designs.”

Passionate about capacity building in the design field, Omobolanle set up Geneva School of Design, which runs a practical design workshop that incorporates the teaching of design thinking principles with hands-on sessions.

We celebrate Omobolanle empowering women in Nigerian and Africa to build successful careers in design and tech. We’re rooting for her!
