Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Ifie Sekibo & More Honoured at GAME 2014 as Men & Women Making a Difference!

Convener, GAME 2014, Abiola Salami, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other Awardees & Guests at Women Awards, GAME 2014 Conference
In a bid to recognize the role of the female gender in nation building, the 2014 edition of Goal Attainment Made Easy (GAME) Conference has rewarded outstanding women who are making positive changes in different fields of endeavor. GAME is an initiative of iamCHAMP Limited in partnership with the Department for International Development (DFID) and is supported by Access Bank Plc.
The Convener of GAME 2014, Abiola Salami, while commenting on The AbiolaChamp Show and the rationale behind the awards noted that the importance of women in nation building cannot be over-emphasized, hence, the need to recognize those championing positive changes. He noted that the motive of the of the “Women Making A Difference” Awards went beyond merely honouring achievers in different spheres of national life as Winners but is also meant to place them as models for young people to aspire to.

“GAME Conference is designed to empower young professionals on workforce productivity, while the awards aim to present accomplished Nigerians to young people as examples to drive them towards the attainment of their goals, and become positive change agents in the country and beyond“, he said.
Among the winners of these awards, who emerged after a thorough selection process are Justice Amina Augie (CON) for her contribution to the legal profession in Nigeria and Amina Oyagbola, for her contribution to human capital development and women empowerment in Nigeria.
For her contribution to corporate and political leadership in Nigeria, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, was also recognized as an Exceptional Woman Making a Difference.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State was another honouree, recognized for her contribution to media and political leadership in Nigeria, while Uchenna Erobu won an award for her contribution to professional services in Nigeria.

The “Man Making A Difference” segment of the awards recognized Chief Arvind Mahamuni for his contribution in oil and gas sector and Dr. Ifie Sekibo for his contribution in the financial services sector. Also recognised in this category were Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, for his unwavering commitment to implementing qualitative poverty eradication programs as well as Dr Uche Ogah and Vincent Ajala for their contributions to youth development.
