After a short break, Arise Magazine is set to release Issue 11 of their Global African Pop Culture publication in December 2010.
The cover of the issue features four stunning models in Deola Sagoe pieces from the collection BN tagged “Her Sexiest & Most Glamorous Collection Ever” – the Spring/Summer 2011 collection which Deola Sagoe showed at the Africa Fashion Week in Johannesburg earlier this year.
Issue 11 of Arise also features supermodel Naomi Campbell, singers Kelis, Erykah Badu & Janelle Monae and British/Nigerian actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. According to Arise, this is their “global fashion issue” and fashion spreads were shot in Lagos, Nairobi, London & Paris with Ajak and Ataui Deng.
We are looking forward to grabbing our copy…

first to comment yes!.
Chiwetel Ejiofor…..yum!!
Glad Arise is back, but I’m not sure about this cover, the models are beauitful but all together the picture looks a little strange, way too much hair in this picture.
Arise could be the vogue of africa if they become a bit more polished.
Also, they need to update their website.
I concur…something about that cover is wrong
It’s bad photoshop… I think one of the models is missing a neck. The one in the pale bronze dress, her head looks like it belongs to another body. I hope this cover is NOT their final print edition.
oh my god . that model is really actually missing a neck..it now looks weird to me . the clothes are still fine tho.
And they need to have more structured publish dates. Spontaneous publishing…is not good for business.
Ah! Peeps can notice/complain about stuff sha,ki lode? Too much hair on the cover? Like really? Smh
Yes i agree! Arise could very well be the Vogue of Africa.
ARISE VOGUE AFRICA PLEASE THE ERA OF USING MONEY TO INTIMIDATE OTHERS IS LONG GONE NIGERIA IS ON THE ROLL. WE ARE SO USED TO LIFTING PEOPLE UP COS THEY HAVE MONEY TO THROW AROUND. HOWEVER, CREDIBLE EVENTS ARE NEVER COVERED. WELL TIME WILL TELL.
FAB is 100 times better than this nonsense Arise
hahahhaha….that cover is a joke
Just because it’s a Magazine aimed at black people dosent mean it’s above criticism! The front cover is ridiculous! The hair is just bizarre, it’s not high fashion, it’s just crap! And besides I didn’t realise magazines could just take a break!!
The hair is not high fashion? Why, course it’s naturally curly/kinky? I bet if they had long straight hair, you will consider it high fashion?
i think its beautiful.

Its fair enough…
Again thanks to FAB magazine we as african woul have been left with no choice at all. Arise back after a short break? Watch out this magazine is as good as dead. A magazine that does not sell anywhere and all of a suden FAB is sold everywhere. It is good to have a choice. I will never use my money to buy it . Long live FAB
the models’ faces look terrible. not in terms of beauty but in terms of that vapid, blank look. yech!
The models are indeed beautiful..individually but together and on that cover…they look strange..something is definitely wrong with the proportions and yes, the hair is all over the place..that said
i still love Arise and they are doing a fabulous job. Their content is fresh and globally relevant but to become the “Vogue of Africa”….there is definitely more room for improvement
Let’s all pray for Arise magazine to be successful.
Nice one, keep it coming
true the cover has to much going on especially the hair.its glossy n all but something is off about it. if they are trying to promote African fashion then there should be no space for substandard work like that . i love the initiative and what they are doing .hopefully they take criticism well and improve on those little things with time . I am rooting for Arise. http://mbabaziannet.blogspot.com
Beautiful.

wow, i can’t believe so many don’t love the cover. it’s utterly gorgeous. not to mention, second from the left (who is she?) has an amazing face.
maybe the mags have to teach us what beauty is, cos maybe some folks got it mixed up – don’t know.
