what is confusing u in d lyrics?its so clear except where she spoke her language and she demonstrated something like SHUT UP which i think it is. or is it where she said she looked up to the hill and her help came cos she has no power of her own?i really wanna know what is confusing u.listen b4 u judge. by d way give it to her,she is still d best female artiste in naija,4rm her lyrics to her performance and her caring and tender heart.i like d energy too. what did u like?

        • Ready March 1, 2011 at 3:22 AM

Since I’ve been called upon to justify my opinion…I’ll humor you. Hands up if you think you can play this video at Sunday school in your church. Hands up if you can play this video without justifying why that fat chick had to shake her butt and do the split.
What in that chorus tells you it’s a gospel song? Other than the ‘my help comes from the Lord’ bit and ‘before she didn’t wanna get up from bed, but he came through for her’, (basically the random mention of God which other non-gospel artistes including 2face and 9ice have done) how do you identify this as a gospel song. The most repeated phrases were “No be Sapele water”, “I just dey high” and “I want to dance.” And that is what confuses me about her genre of music.
You like her energy, beautiful…her caring and tender heart, shebi it’s you that’s seen that part. She seems nice and I like her voice, but she is definitely not the best female musician in Nigeria ’cause she rarely sings songs that display her vocal range unlike some other female singers like Asa, Waje, and Kayefi. So yes, I listened before I judged, and my stance remains the same. What do you have to say next?

        • OgheneElo March 2, 2011 at 7:59 PM

@ Ready, YOU DO NOT GET IT. She is saying that she is high but it is not because she is drunk or blazed. She is HIGH in the spirit….as in happy. The Video shows that as a metaphor. As in she looks like girls who have gone out drinking or partying, she was pulled over by the cop and then she explains that she is high and wants to dance BUT it is not because of SAPELE WATER. I do not agree with the fat chick doing splits and humping the floor as it detracts from the rest of the video. It is more than likely satirical in nature. it is you who do not get it.

Sunday school teacher,I don’t think u can sing kokoroko in ur sunday sch. What part of the bible said u should go into d world and ………?pls fill d space. u sit there and judge this gr8 ambassador of christ.if u have the grace to sit in church and not device ways to get pple to listen to God outside ur sunday sch or church,SHUT UP! she is reaching out to alot of youths I can attest to that as my younger ones wanna listen to her and not the “make believe”holy singers who do songs u can play @ sunday school. ur comment got me angry and made me laugh cos u are just ignorant.

      • julit March 1, 2011 at 12:10 PM

The contact lenses were used to create the red eye effect of a drunk.

        • Miss Face March 1, 2011 at 8:50 PM

Oh really? Guess the director couldnt achieve the red-eye illusion digitally huh?

    • Purpleicious Babe February 28, 2011 at 8:43 PM

This one no be sapela water…. am guessing there is story behind this particular lyrics… she is really putting the efforts to stretch her music/talent considering the amount of negativity she might have gone through. The music industry in naij is probably getting too demand, artisits are going all out to please fans/market. Thus, she wants to be flexible and she intends to do what sells. All in all, I do hope she is stll intouch with her mission@ the first place for going into the music industry, that is really important, in a world where everyone copy each other and appeal to a mass market (rarely do artists aim for the niche market). Just my own thought.

I think the song will become a good catch phrase, it rubs off on u, am sure some kids in naij will absolutley adore it.

    • Purpleicious Babe February 28, 2011 at 8:45 PM

      i like the song….

    • Lulaby February 28, 2011 at 8:53 PM

Kefee you doing well. coming on stronger and stronger. I took my time to listen to d lyrics and I loved every line and every rhyme. U’re d best.!keep repping

    • ChO February 28, 2011 at 8:59 PM

I love this babe. see d wicked getting confused…them don fotovwin. this is a true life testimony not a marketing strategy. u know kefee doesn’t go out of her way to pls pple.i read dat in her interview.she said she follows her hearty which is d best.otherwise she would ve stayed in dat abusive marriage just to make christians happy, and she dyin in pretence and silence. carry go kefee.this one is HOT!

    • Fab February 28, 2011 at 9:10 PM

This is fab. u too much kkefee.

    • Anonymous February 28, 2011 at 9:22 PM

Well done Kefee! i think you’re very original. On this side of the world where i reside, everyones tryna be someone else so I commend you on your originality….The message is quite idiotproof ; songs’ very catchy plus its got abit of the lingo in it as well – absolutely Lav it! U’ve sure brought glory to God on this one. Keep using your God-given talent x

    • onyinye February 28, 2011 at 9:43 PM

why r some of u guys questioning her christianity … this song is simple and her message is clear so for all u guys sayin u r confused clearly means u r uneducated since u do not understand simple lyric..

      • Ready March 1, 2011 at 3:08 AM

Chei…really? Uneducated? You don’t wanna go there boo. Calm down and drink some Sapele water or something…you don’t want none of this.

        • Miss Face March 1, 2011 at 8:54 PM

I sense a war of words brewing up in here…………. Oh am loving this……he he he…..but pls fight fair and square, no punches below the belt ok? Ding-dong! Go!

        • Purpleicious Babe March 16, 2011 at 2:52 PM

          loool

    • Anonymous March 1, 2011 at 12:45 AM

errmm I honestly don’t understand the song. She’s talking about God in some parts then she’s high? Explanation pls?

    • vikky March 1, 2011 at 1:17 AM

true talk onyinye….plain english language, abi dem no di undastanam again? and who said you hav to b villagitic to praise God or that God doesn’t like liveliness….she is simply winning the younger generations for God and whatever she did with her eyes or face is simply being beautiful for God….why do africans duel so much on negativity and on judging others always?…i tire for wuna…..love the song and i cant stop listening to it and she has a gud voice, good lyrics and rythm…..ride on gurl and God will surely fotowin all ur haters and enemies..

      • OgheneElo March 2, 2011 at 8:02 PM

Thank you o! Na wetin I dey talk….

    • julit March 1, 2011 at 10:27 AM

its amazing how people know what a ‘christian’ gospel singer should do or what Christians should do and u can bet ur bottom dollar that most pple criticising are xtians so how come y’all are not doing what the bible says ?do not judge who or what is Christian-like . leave her and her God to sort it out and btw, listen to the lyrics b4 u comment. if u dont understand, ask someone who speaks the language to explain.

      • Ready March 2, 2011 at 3:11 AM

Lol…so if we’re not christians, can we judge? I’m not a christian so I guess that makes my criticisms okay.

    • babycake March 1, 2011 at 3:05 PM

lols….them say them get physical and press power…..you go girl loving d song….go job kefee

    • asa March 1, 2011 at 11:47 PM

For some weird reason i like this, you gotta give it Kefee, love her energy and the fact that she’s not trying to be posh or anything. Go girl

    • OgheneElo March 2, 2011 at 8:01 PM

No it does not make it okay. You have no right to dictate what are acceptable christian morals either way. You are not God. You are not the Universe either. In fact i am bored, I am done.

    • lolade March 2, 2011 at 8:46 PM
