Behind the Scenes at the Martini Rosé TVC Shoot with Uti Nwachukwu & Eku Edewor

By BellaNaija.com

They have got to be the two most ubiquitous TV and Red Carpet personalities in Nigeria. Now, Uti Nwachukwu and Eku Edewor have been paired for the Martini Rosé TV commercial.

The commercial was actually shot at the Radisson Blu in Victoria Island over a month ago. Ahead of its official release, we get to see shots from the set of the production.

This is the first Martini commercial ever produced in Nigeria.

These alcohol brands definitely see Nigeria as a major market given the amount of interest and marketing investment we have seen lately. Is this good or bad? You tell us. In any case, Drink responsibly.

Back to the commercial, looks fabulous…Totally coveting Eku’s Tiffany Amber Lilly wrap dress in blush pink.

This weekend, Martini will be hosting an exclusive “Blush Night”. Look out for photos from the event.

Yay for Martini! it’s my comfort drink…btw, ubiquitous is right! It’s getting to be a bit much…

May be good but cant be bothered to see it. Please , this is not bad belle o! I just have to type the truth.

Most people become bored of seeing the same people at every event, on every blog post etc. There are so many people in Nigeria/the world, a bit of variety would be nice. Overexposure leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Boring!

Less is more joor! Please take note Eku, Uti, Tiwa and Yvonne Ekwere. Its too much. PR is one thing but to be everywhere means that i just skip your pictures all the time. Streamline it and promote but gently. Also the people who use them just choose the same people all the time, WHICH IS FINE but what about us who they want to buy/ read or use their product. Are they really capturing my proper attention? NO.

BTW i LOVE Tiwa and Eku. I also love plantain and egg but not everyday and not for breakfast, luch and dinner because this is what this shoving Uti and co in my face feels like. As for Yvonne please oya please don’t open every invitation.

Sorry pls i no hate o, just typing the truth. RANTING LOL

      • missy December 7, 2011 at 5:03 PM

copy much? that’s noble igwe phrase plantain and egg. nice try all the same

        • Jay December 7, 2011 at 11:13 PM

I guess this Noble Igwe is the only person that should/can use it right? Unless he owns the exclusive legal right to that phrase, then it is a FREE phrase. Gbam!

        • moi December 8, 2011 at 10:10 AM

do u know how many slangs r out there n how many ppl use dem everyday? r u sayin u must know noble to say ‘plantain and egss” or he has like a exclusive rights to it or wat??…cos i dont get ur comment….some ppl sha…ok now we know u know Noble Igwe!

      • Jay December 7, 2011 at 11:30 PM

I don’t disagree with you. I really like both personalities and don’t mind them doing this commercial. It’s business at the end of the day! However, it would be great to see new faces from time to time. It’s like Nigerians at home just stick to trend and don’t know how to really think outside the box.
If Sandy Waka Flocka Flame is hot in 2012, we will keep seeing her at every event, in every campaign. It gets too mundane.
I love pop culture and would love to see the Nigerian entertainment industry start introducing is fresh faces. Let’s get this industry more exciting and a bit more competitive! It looks like everyone are all buddies. lol.

        true dat…

    • Jay December 7, 2011 at 3:30 PM

We are such big consumers. So many countries are exporting their products to Nigeria. The world is making so much money off us! The oil we claim to be exporters of isn’t doing sh*t for our economy. Instead it’s expanding our leaders personal bank accounts and body size. I feel so bad for Nigeria.

Anyway, Uti is hella sexy. Goshh. Even though I don’t give myself to anybody, he most definitely can get it. Lmaooo

    • speaktheword December 7, 2011 at 4:01 PM

omgosh maryam i am laughing so hard cos of your comments! you are hilarious and know how to infuse humour even when you are speaking hard facts! thanks for mirroring my thoughts.

      LMAO at Maryam’s post!

    • Ogg December 7, 2011 at 4:56 PM

Thing is tho I can understand why Eku is always on the red carpet. She’s interviews personalities at events. So she actually has a role there, it’s her job. Uti on the other hand, I’m not so sure. He is almost always in every event. He won big brother but damn, it’s like he’s some kind of revered celebrity which by all means he is not.

      • Gbeborun December 7, 2011 at 6:27 PM

He won $200k so with dt kind of money most pple are ready to kiss hiss a*se, hence he get invited everywhere or it could be he is buying his way in to every event………..#justmythought

      • Honorary Bubabu! December 7, 2011 at 8:59 PM

Scusi! Uti is a presenter of the popular Jara Tv show on DSTV, a model and an actor so he is always in the public and people do love him alot! He certainly has moved on from just being winner of Big Brother. Unlike some others his 15 mins of fame has stretched to be much longer and we are the happier for it! Abeg, free him jor!

    • Gyann December 7, 2011 at 5:22 PM

lmaoo@maryam’s post but i agree sha

    • Joey December 7, 2011 at 5:27 PM

    • BukiOni December 7, 2011 at 5:45 PM

I love the Tiffany Amber dress Eku is wearing, it’s so flattering.

    • Demmy December 7, 2011 at 5:58 PM

How I love going to Radisson Blue. Seeing this pics makes me miss it so much. Anywaiz, I think Eku looks amazing but it would be nice to use other people instead of always the same people.

    • Akpeno December 7, 2011 at 6:29 PM

Wow Some haters here! Anyway keep hating ……only makes them bigger and better.
While you hunker down in front of your computer waiting to attack with negative remarks once Uti is mentioned, He (Uti) is excelling… Hosting a TV Show (Jara) Acting in Movies (Bursting out, In the cupboard…. just to name a few) Giving back to widows (Check out God’s Wives on fb) Modeling………
So keep hating ’cause that’s all you’ll achieve…. Bitterness, Envy, Jealousy… which leads no where…
By the way have a glass of Martini it’ll make you feel good! :P

      • moi December 8, 2011 at 10:24 AM

u have to be uti or someone reallllllly close to him, cos ave all d props u went ahead to promote Martini again…lollzz. cant blame u jare

    • laolu December 7, 2011 at 7:18 PM

    • Kemi December 7, 2011 at 7:23 PM

      @Jay

Your comment made my morning, you are so right ..Uti needs a break from all this event, he’s not a celebrity to me o. I love Eku, she got swag!

    • Kemi December 7, 2011 at 7:25 PM

Uti is a handsome man sha.lol

    • kiki23 December 7, 2011 at 8:21 PM

Umm…so there’s something like ‘Red Carpet Personality’ now? Hmm…interesting. Every Yusuf, Emeka and Tobi must be a celebrity..*rme 360! Hmpf!

      • keepitmoving December 8, 2011 at 5:03 AM

Omg! LMAO @ “Yusuf, Emeka & Tobi…” Bare jokes! Maryam, WORD!!! @ missy, u’re quite conversant with who says what aren’t u? (a toast of a shot of Martini). **rolls eyes

    • Abanonu December 7, 2011 at 9:37 PM

    • allen December 7, 2011 at 10:28 PM

THE POSING & HYPE ABOUT THIS THING IS APPALING

    • @Chizoba December 7, 2011 at 10:44 PM

I like the whole concept of the set liking Eku’s dress by tiffany amber simpy gorg looking foward to see the actual commercial

    • @Chizoba December 7, 2011 at 10:55 PM

can I say Uti looking hot as ever :D

    • Ronnie December 8, 2011 at 12:49 AM

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but one thing is sure, favor isn’t fair. Uti might not be a celeb to you but there must be something about him that keeps comps interested in him.The money excuse isn’t reasonable coz he isn’t the 1st winner and the others are not as popular. I think he is a hardworking dude and deserves all the good things that come with it.

The big companies are seeing market in niaja ohh…

U know what??? I am glad niaja pple have been used to promote the video from production to finished products…….. Instead of hiring pple abroad they are issuing contracts to naija pple and that’s mega business opportunities money coming in big time…..

Go sesan… keep up the good work…

    • honey December 8, 2011 at 1:01 AM

@demmy5.58 radisson BLUE indeed and you go there and you dont know the spelling… naijas can form!

    • FYI December 8, 2011 at 1:33 AM

It seems to me that one of the requirmenta for working in the creative industry in Nigeria is to have or wear a british accent, I’m surprised im not hearing any American accents. it’s really funny to me because most young people in the states take pride in their “Naija” accents

    • onyinye December 8, 2011 at 1:50 AM

SORRY I MEAN’T NAIJA PEOPLE AND CRITICISM!!

    • marvel December 8, 2011 at 8:12 AM

@ FYI, BN and their media cohorts are not without blame. I forgot that Eku was ever on British Top Model. BN have constantly thrown her in my face. It is sad that Agbani and Oluchi have to go to the US for their current global brands only for BN to be promoting Eku from the UK in Nigeria. Take Asa, Nneka, D’Banj, Eldee and co, they all lived abroad. Thank goodness for Yorubas – the manner at which they hail the likes of Sunny Ade, 9ice at least balances the equation. Don’t get me wrong, I have lived most of my adult life abroad, but I don’t promote that over merit when seeking talent. It is ridiculous!

      Nice dress Eku, Loving it…

    • 18 December 8, 2011 at 12:42 PM

@FYI, What you do not know, ask? Tonye, Sesan and Neil all attended schools and live in Britain, hence their British accent, it has nothing to do with being or wanting to be in the Nigerian creative industry. These guys have been around for years producing good work without you knowing them –do your homework! It is shames that people like you verbally try to debar our nation’s progress and then blame the nation for not progressing. While people are doing their bit you carry on talking o

      • FYI December 13, 2011 at 8:13 PM

Not saying the accents are bad, I just think its funny because it influences all the other “posers” in Lagos to wear accent. My dear it encourages “phonetics”. LOL

    • chei I love this December 8, 2011 at 1:53 PM
