On Sunday 18th December 2011, Wonuola Odunsi and Isoken Ogeimwonyi - the brains behind the successful monthly shopping fiesta -Le Petit Marché hosted friends, family, well wishers and loyal LPM fans for the private launch of their brand new fashion and lifestyle retail concept store – L’Espace in Victoria Island, Lagos.
This fabulous launch was an evening of fun and networking with lots of food and drinks. In attendance, were also fashion cognoscenti and serious shoppers who availed themselves of the many goodies on offer.
An attendee who was happily surprised at the contemporary pricing of the brands in store, said “I’m really impressed and I love the idea of stocking young African designers because there is a lot of undiscovered talent, just waiting to be found by people like me. Tonight, I bought a piece by a lady I have never heard of, I love the dress so much that after trying it on I decided to wear it home”
This new store from the LPM team marks the beginning of a new era for the Nigerian Fashion Industry and we so love it.In case you missed the event, don’t worry BN has got you covered with all the exclusive photos.

Well done girls. Guy in black shirt talking to the girl in pink dress – keep your eyes on her face now…at least try you can imagine the rest later….haba!!!!
Err… that is actually her brother. Lol
I think he is looking at her neck piece
pictures that have been online on other blogs for over than a month now…Bella Naija whats up with the snail pace?
Keep up the good work ladies. Very nice to see young Niberian women doing their thang! If I were home right now, I’d stop by and shooooop!!!
Of course I meant NIGERIAN!! LOL just got the office, haven’t had my first cup of joe.
Of course I meant NIGERIAN!! LOL just got to the office; haven’t had my first cup of joe.
Nice one
Nice pics………….
The store looks good and it looks like they have the support of quite a few influential fashionistas which is obviously good for business.

someone give me a pair of scissors. This wig wan kill me ooooo. Ya’ll need to stop it or at least get imaginative with the styling.
Well done Mika, u saw well. LMAO at the guy in black shirt
Everyone is dressed up and posing for pictures, no one is actually carrying a shopping bag. Typical shopping/fashion event in lagos.
Veeeery nice concept.
But Femi Ahmed…cheer up na!
Looks like a fun event, evey1 looked aiit
So they are selling clothes, sweets, accessories, alcohol and frozen yoghurt all in one store? If they were going for the ‘Selfridges’ effect, they should have gone all the way and done it properly. This is my problem with the “nouveau naija entrepreneur”- they rarely go the extra mile to do things to a top quality standard. The goods are poorly presented, the space is not being used very well and it all looks too tacky. Tejuosho market meets V.I ? I would sooner spend my time and hard-earned cash perusing the isles of my local Tesco. At least it is not trying so hard to convince me that it is on par with Harrods! I am not hating. I just want people to stop accepting sub-standard as the norm in Nigeria. My dad had display cabinets like those in his barber shop circa 1989!
I agree with you…the products are not being properly displayed at all….total waste of space…People spend all those money and stand to have their photos taken but the main essence of it all which is to showcase the businesses at hand is actually not being done…It looks so sparse and dry…Sorry.
nne, biko don’t be angry oh. I don’t think it’s by force to go there ehn. I don’t know them, but i apologise on their behalf. ewo.
I agree with this comment
God bless you!!!!!! Well said!!!!!
I will like to be ur friend
I agree-not much thought seems to have gone into the layout and presentation of merchandise especially with the menswear and the sweets. However a great start and lovin the art on the walls!
Ps: Girl in the pink dress.. you’re totally rocking that purple clutch….hard!I like!
looks good but like someone mentioned too much going on in one space.
I’m totally agree with yeahsaidit. Totally the wrong way to go about this! Instead make it a fashion haven other focused on clothes, accessories or lifestyle not a mishmash of everything. Would rather stick to my Selfridges, Harrods and Macy’s! Was looking forward to this but disappointed
Nice shop
please where is it situated
Na wa o,this event looked sparsely attended sha. Didn’t they do publicize it? I guess with time they’ll increase their array cos it looks quite boring. No one should bite me o.
Biko, those ankara bags, who is the designer. Love, love, love, love.
P.s Rock on Wonu and Isoken, the sky is the limit…
The shelves are empty? What happened now?
Is the co-owner really wearing a red wig with her roots showing? Oh no!!!
If the co-owner looks like that, well that says a lot.
Guys, its not a store but an open market for a variety of items. Obviously not the Selfridges, Harrods stuff but looks like a gallery space used for the event!
All I saw were the bags…*licks lips*
Ankara bags; Bola Obileye of Tote. Google Seriously Doughnuts. Thanks.
Haha! I think this is a perfect picture for a ‘caption this’ feature

I wonder if selfridges and harrods became what they are in 1 day. This is an ingenius idea and it will explode in no time. BN is about covering events not necessarily advertising wares.
That being said, beny awere, slippers to such an event? Glam up girl
I really like the wedding photos on bellanaija, where are they.
Great to know that the business of fashion is growing in structure as well as content. L’espace is on point with capturing the eclectic market in Africa. Good stuff!
