Davida Plaza, 31A Admiralty way, Lekki phase 1,Lagos
Wow looks nice …. and she actually went to design school pretty impressive, because a lot of Nigerians seem to be starting fashion businesses without any education, she will definitely go far.

Ebuka!!!!!!! You are too HAWT. Marry me please By fire
Nice pics I must say.
Must seriously wats ds hype abt opening a boutique n u tro a red “rug” outside?
By d way who is buyin all ds? Abi na all ds peeps who “supposedly ” do their shoppin abroad…..? *still wondering*
ok, pls lets be real. I was seriously looking to see her designes, then i relised they are all store-bought cloths from abroad, nothing spectacular.
Truth is, she has spent alot of money setting up, that i ggive to her, but what else….??? i dont see, many people are doing same.. openong cloths store.
Hi Tiga, all the clothing items featured in the store are from the debut April By Kunbi ready to wear collection which i exclusively designed and produced locally for the retail outlet. Please stop by the store at Davida Plaza, 31A Admiralty way, Lekki phase 1,Lagos to check out the collection and other accessories! Thanks. Kunbi (info@aprilbykunbi.com)
Such accusations without proof leave you in a very bad light.
“Must seriously wats ds hype abt opening a boutique n u tro a red “rug” outside?” Mekhi phifa, it’s called ‘promotion’. And it’s a necessary part of doing business these days. Opening a store and running a business generally is not an easy feat and Kunbi has been at this for quite some time, so kudos to her and if she wants to invite her friends and the public to her store opening, why is that something to be criticized? Kunbi, don’t mind the haters jare. You’ve done well. Looking forward to visiting your store soon.
hot hot hot thumbs up to my girl Kunbs love the look of the store you rock!
linda ikeji i see you ohhhh…
congrats Kunbi……..xxx
Wow!!! Congrats Kunbi!!! You continue to inspire me! Very hard working, Creative and Focused! I cant wait to see what you will pull off next!!!

Nice
Missed the opening, but it all looks fab, looking forward to rummaging through the rails tomorrow! So proud of you!
Lovely outfits by April, the pieces look wearable! Digression: too many ‘mammy water’ weaves though, we ladies need to relax on the inches!
Pls gbemi olateru olagbegi to get a stylist. Her fashion sense is a NO NO. She jst knws hw to abuse others.pls learn from ur colleague tolu oniru who is even bigger than u bt alwaz luking good. Bella naija post my comment
Pls wat is the address of this store. I need to start patronizing Nigerian designers. And stop hoping on planes
I love the colours. beautiful.!
Bella naija, pls can you tell us where the store is? i’d have thought it’d be a part of the write up!
Well done girl!! Way to go!!!
The store is located at Davida Plaza, 31 A Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos
Linda, that ur shoe no try at all
She cud have gotten a store wr d front display window doesn’t face a wall. Dats wr she went absolutely wrong. Beautiful display mannequins but wrong choice of store.
Ps.. Kunbi’s outfit looks horrible…d guests lookd way better dan she did. No sense of styl watsoeva.
luvlyn haba!!!! u are horrible. please cut her some slack. looks like a good event, shop looks super tiny though, I wonder how big it is, her designs are good and the look similar to “grey” (clean cut colour blocking theme)they probably drink from the same “fountain of inspiration”
Stop the negativity…Haba.. What have u opened in the 20 something years of ur life? at tin of milk ? or better still the case of a mac powder? Appreciate a good work when u see one and correct nicely when u see a flaw!!!
Why don’t you open up your own store and make your own outfits instead of talking down at a young woman who has done well for herself, its people like you that should be banned from making senseless and unproductive comments that adds no value to humanity…get a life!
Well done Kunbi we are all proud of you!
Luvlyn, you might have been too harsh in saying she looks horrible – but Kunbi I am disappointed. You are your #1 marketing machine. That was a poor outfit choice. Also, I prefer your aesthetic from your earlier collections: very girly, flirty – I understand you must grow as an artist but constructive criticism: revisit your initial collections and see how you can improve on them. The commentor who likened your pieces to Grey is spot on. Grey already owns that niche so it will be hard to stand out. The girly, flirty April by Kunbi is my preferred aesthetic! All the same, good job girl! Your business acumen and entrepreneurial undertakings are inspiring! More grease to your elbow darling *smooch*
Bella, i dropped a comment praising u small about featuring the store itself and not just the guests and then also mentioned Gbemi just like Theodora did above. Why didnt u post my comment?
Nice one Kunbi. Am impressed
True talk, openin a fashion outlet nd put on dat stuff? Common,u re pretty nd can do betta dan dat,pls put on a highter heel 2 accentuate ur hight.d guest all luk fab, simpl bt classic.I luv d middle gown n d 1st pix,is it jst one? As am comin 2 lag ds wkend, wil luv 2 hav it.hope d price s affordable.dat weddin gown behind sasha sucks, such weddin gown n ds 21st century?
peeps please lets learn to appreciate good things . congrats kunbi beautiful pieces too
ahhh Gbemi did not try at all i am tryna find the strengths of that picture but its not possible from bra fitting to choice of out fit to make up(if any) i love her but no way.the shaky babe who just opened a lace store i love the colour on you and simplicity is perfect i wlda carried a different hand bag tho, nikky balogun i love your look.theres something charming about lucy love so simple but theres just something.kunbi’s outfit is a big no. nice pics tho
dresses on mannequins look lovely. I don’t know about what she was where. Looks promising. a lot of potential and fresh approach to fashion there.
Somebody save me from these awful wigs/weave on that our women have taken to. If you like these extensions so much at least bother to get yourself/the wigs styled and fresh looking.. Always ruins the looks
Na wa for this luvlyn sha! make u find another shop give am nau… soso talk talk
Great how Nigerian designers support one another. I see Mai, Toju, etc
Babcock gehs doing things..thumbs up!
very lovely idea. wish u all d best in your endeavours.
I luv chichi ! Girl knows how to rock her African hair! Funky style ,it’s gud to see designers supportn eachother: toju/mai/rouge. Gbemi no comment! Luv u tho ! Btw I see pple buyn more accessories than clothes , all d same congrats!
AND DTS MY DESIGNER LOOKING GORGE;CHICHI OF ROGUE VALERIE;HUGSSSSS
Anyone who was there would know how hard gbemi was working. Bad picture. Big deal. Half of u here criticizing Kunbi and co have not accomplished what they have ……Say something nice and move on. SMH
Chai! Nigerians can so hate! I dont like alot of things, have reservations about some of our so called celebrities, but whats my feelings got to do with anything? The likes of Tiga need to start doing more constructive things with their lives as opposed to simply bashing people who are actually making an attempt at something positive and successful. Damn haters! its why we are still shrouded in a veil of retatdedness in this country!
Very Fresh ..
Weldone, you’ve done really well for yourself thus far and I wish u more success.bless!
Well done Kunbi! This wasn’t overnight, and it wasn’t accidental! You put a lot of hard work into your brand and into this store. God will continue to reward your hard-work with more success. Congratulations darl!
na wa o,nigerians, cant u just appreciate instead of hating, make una dey dere dey dull, whyl April by kunbi dey make wave…..congrats kunbi,i wish u all d best jare
hope i can find something under 10k to buy oh!! thats d fear we have with all these desoinaz. Kunbi i hope the clothes are affordable, we should be able to get a 5k top or a 10k dress. 20k for a top isnt affordable for a working class girl
well done and i wish u well
i see nmy beautiful ‘yellow’ YML, you smacked it fine girl………
All I just have to say is witches (Nigerian girls that comment on blogs) have ruined tiwa savage’s brand.
Did you see how she dressed for her 9ice album launch performance?
Ever since her interview with BN, she’s been dressing like a mama. So unfair! We miss sexy siren Tiwa and need her back!
Well done. It takes guts to launch a business!
Fresh
Nice event. Please checkout my blog. Just started but it willbe fun!
the pregnant lady is gorgeous
Looks good:) congrats kunbi
Very well done! I really love the colors. The clothes look like those types that just make you wish u had more money to buy every single thing hehe. Tres cheek, they look well sewn aswell, no wonder some commentors above think it the were bght from shops abroad lol. I like the red door and the simple ‘april’. One thing thou, not a fan of Kunbi’s outfit. Dunno if its the green flaps at the side or the overall structure, but its not ‘WOW’!
tionniaccessories.blogspot.com
Nice! I hope the pieces are AFFORDABLE as Nigerian Made stuff are usually overpriced! I wont buy a dress for 20k sef when i can buy a nice one for $50 at Nordstrom Rack/BCF…
Soo fresh n soo beautiful!! Great pics!! Congrats Kunbi n u’r stunning!!!
i love that shiny black and white striped skirt looks nice. shame im in london!
Dem use weave swear for Nigerian women??
Blood of God!!!!
Thot Kunbi wld come bak here to reply to the other comments?! u go just tire…LMAO!!!
April by Kunbi
Highly recommended for like minds who understands the essence of simplicity and fashion as a lifestyle.
I feel your collection.
Keep up the fabulous designs.
good to see my girl omonigho looking fly as always.
Wow!!
Shout-out to my home girl!!!
Kunbi, congrats! Really nice venture. The store looks nicely put together and I was especially happy to read in the comments that the clothes are from your own line, not ‘imported’. Nothing wrong with imported but we have enough talent here (like you, you studied at FIT) and materials. God bless the work of your hands.
April I think you’re doing a great job. Well done! But please please, don’t wear that orange with green ’3/4 peplum’ dress again. that is all!
I dont think the outfit is that bad, she had to stand out from everyone else. I met her at her store yesterday, shes sooo pleasant and much prettier than these pictures
Congrats girl. Am so happy for u! Hope u read all the comments and use the feedbacks in a positive way – to thrust u way foward. The lord will continue to see you through. All d best darling.
Wow, this is awesome, I can belt it with you that kunbi made all this by her self. This is wonderful, keep it going girl.
was at the place bu the crazy security guard told me to leave because i had a baby with me….. how stupid? people really need to talk to their staffs so as not spoil their businesses….. anyways congratulations kunbi and God bless….x
jokes>>>>> ;P
X_X
This is a job welldone. congrts darling. I can see u der already
LOVE. LOVE LOVE!! I love everything about it, I love the layout f the store, the fresh colors and the fact that Kunbi actually went to Fashion School.. Cuz nowadays, folks are just calling themselves stylists and fashion designers all willy nilly without having a solid education in Fashion. Respect, She’s got my Attention. I wish you all the best chicka
I love the look. Style does not depend on price. It has to be original and express your personality.
I would gladly put the Marc by Marc Jacobs purse on my X-mas wish list!
