The grand finale of the Elite Model Look took place at the Federal Palace Hotel. Earlier this week, BN brought you the Red Carpet Fab and also pictures of the winners. Salewa Akin-Taylor, a fashion writer and a BN reader was at the event and she gives us a run down of what went down. Enjoy!
On Saturday evening, my sister and I dressed up and got ready for the 5th Edition of the Elite Model Look Competition. The show, which was scheduled to start for 7pm, did not really kick off until about 9p.m, However, we were sitting comfortably as more guests arrived. Champagne, cupcakes and candy was served to guests. Of course, the red carpet was bubbly as guests had their pictures taken.
There was a black & white dress code and while many people brought their A-game some just didn’t bother to try and just made a mess of it. Some didn’t not bother adhering to the dress code, donning bright colors and all. Frank Edoho welcomed everyone to the event and even tried to crack us up with his jokes (didn’t realise stand-up comedy is part of his thing) need less to say, he did quite a good job.
The panelists were introduced – Ezinne Chinkata, Agbani Darego (Former Miss world), Kelechi Amadi Obi (Photographer) and Elite Model representative from Paris, Stefan. ( I didn’t quite catch his last name.)
The models (male and female) were introduced and boy did they give the runway a run for its money with their fierce walk. The first act of the night was G-lory our very own Lady Gaga as Frank rightly pointed out. Next, was a presentation by the female models in Mimi Lee London and Re Bahia designs. I particularly liked the white red and black prints and silhouettes in the Re Bahia presentation.
The guys came out next in Grey casual wear; bright colors (check) prints (check) shorts (check) . The girls came back in black and white swimwear and awesome statement necklaces.
The guys came out next in their swim wear which was basically black cycling shorts!
There was a Mango presentation by the girls featuring white dresses, black dresses, jeans, leather pants, python print shorts, a jumpsuit. Next, was an Odio Mimonet pesentation by the girls. Long and flowing dresses with lots of lace, taffeta, silk, sequins as embellishments.
We were supposed to watch a video on past Elite winners in Nigeria but that didn’t go too well due to technical difficulties.
The guys were next with a “Cool Village” presentation. The models were narrowed down to 5 girls and 5 boys A performance by Nedu and Lynxx got the crowd excited with hit tune “fine lady” so good even he delectable Miss Tiwa Savage did the azonto!
The girls came out for the last time in Tiffany Amber Announcement started with the boys – 2nd runner up Steven Nkang, 1st runner up Kimmie Adams and the winner was 18 year old Alvin Dayaffin, it was indeed a precious moment when his mother joined him on the stage to celebrate with him.
For the girls the 2nd runner up was Joy Adoki, 1st runner up Cynthia Bassey and the Winner was 17 year old Moyin Arowosola.
Both winners went home with the Samsung S3 and a year’s supply of calling credit along wit their modelling contracts.
All in all it was a delightful evening out and I wish the winners a fantastic modelling career ahead.

How come Frank Edoho was allowed to host the show about women in the wake of his domestic violence news? Nigerians need to stop encouraging men like him.
I wish there were LIKE buttons on here!
Give the man a break please…..
One year’s supply of free calling credit courtesy ETISALAT…..(you forgot to mention Shally)
This G-Lory girl is obviously trying to jack the crown off Goldie’s head. Nice designer pieces, nice, strong competition. Kudos to both winners.

Good review, kudos to Elohor too it was one of the best events ive been to since i moved back
oh wow….the writer looks gorge in that picture!!
How on earth did the guy win biko!
I can get the female winner but the guys???? BTW, is that light skinned guy mixed race?
Wow..this looks like a great event. Well done to the organisers.
Bikini pics, 1st left is just straight, damnnn. The female winner does stand out and her figure is on point, but does a shaved head model have to win all the time? Spotted a nice tall looking male model, what happened?
G-lory definitely looks like she’s usurping the gaga title but at least she can “sanggggggggg”.
Elohor is doing very very well
Kudos to the winner.free one year call?awwwwww.kudos to the narrator of the Event, but na by force to show ass?
FRANK EDOHOR SHOULD NOT BE HOSTING! Nigerian hypocrites! We be castigating Chris brown who was a teenager and a boyfriend? This man was a husband and we look away? ELOHOR….bad look on you!
This G-Lory is a disgrace to the African culture and our race. What sort of costume is that? Your very own Lady Gaga? Why working in another person’s shadow? Who don’t you create a niche for yourself? I wanna be ! SMH
Wow! The body types displayed on here…speechless…I think some of the girls did the wrong abdominal exercises because they look very square. Anyways, I see why she won, she’s got beautiful long slim legs to add to everything else.
Well narrated dear but how comE dat guy won???
Kudos to both winners and as for Frank Edoho, no comments

allowing frank edohor to host reflects poorly on elite model…BN folks, stop deleting my comments against domestic violence. taht’s the problem…trying to muff folks speaking up. if you are not part of the solution then you are part problem
did anyone see that dancing model:?? lol… what happened to her??
wow the ladies are gorgeous…nice abs….i just literally threw away my jealof rice chicken salad, plantain and puff puff….the men dont have big expectations sha i mean they had big feet, and big hands i guess the myths not always true. bwahahahahahah
Good job Shalewa. Looking good…
WALKING STICKS!
May God help you Bella i am liking the fraud incorporated. We need to know why you help with this fraudulent show .What happened to the winner? She did not make it to china why?I know you will not post this but we are sick of your lies.he poor girl just paraded for flower and moet on stage while other shows give away cars ,cash and all sorts the elite model girls walk away with nothing. We have not seen you post aany news about her trip to china.Did she go or not?Tell Nigerians or we will see you on twitters.
Na wao, just found ou that Nigeria was the only country absent from china.Poor moyin so all she got is drink and flower and telephone while other shows give cars and winners are everywhere.I mean all over the world and they never get mentioned on your blog.I guess the world is waching because i just saw NNSM on FTV and APand so many inernational press plus waching channels, onv,vc and our girl Linda tha is no biased at all and reports every show.May be that is why linda rocks. When you bella was no biased you were leading now alexia shows that you are way beehind linda.Try and change your ways in 2013.
