Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar Publicly Kneels Down to Greet Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo

A rather unusual but interesting piece of news that seems to be trending this morning is that of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, kneeling down to greet his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Atiku and Obasanjo, who served as Vice President and President of Nigeria respectively, between 1999-2007, had an estranged relationship during the last lap of their second term in office. However, in a surprising turn of events, Atiku was reported to have knelt down and bowed his head to greet his former boss at a public function yesterday.
Both men were among a retinue of VIPs invited to the opening of the week long Comptroller-Generals’ conference held at the newly inaugurated auditorium of Katsina State University.
Obasanjo, who arrived ahead of Atiku, was seated next to second republic President Shehu Shagari and the Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade.
Atiku, who arrived nearly 40-minutes after his former boss, first greeted the Emir of Gwandu, Muhammad Iliyasu; Emir of Katsina, Abdulmimini Usman; the Ooni and Shagari who were seated at the podium.
When he got to Obasanjo, the former Vice President knelt down and bowed his head to greet his former boss. The delighted crowd followed the mild drama with applause.
Many have said the unusual public display by Atiku is an attempt to win favours for his political ambition in the 2015 General Elections. Others have said it is just a publicity stunt.
What do you say? What do you make out of this public show of “respect”?

I am happy with Atiku. That shows that your boss will ever be your boss whether in the office and out of the office. It is good for our youths who are always watching the political terrain to learn. It is always good to see our leaders happy and have respect for each other instead of fighting and throwing insulting words to each other. No matter the diversity,we are one nigeria.Long live Nigeria,Long live Obasanjo and Long live Atiku.
Surely this comment has been made tongue-in-cheek…

Humility or Wayo? You choose.
No pictures to back this tale making rounds yet. Still wonder how this would make Nigeria better should it be true.

Chief Obasanjo – ” . . . of whom it has been said has an equal capacity for great good and great evil . . .” – with a nasty grudge-holding habit . . .
“When he got to Obasanjo, the former Vice President knelt down and bowed his head to greet his former boss. The delighted crowd followed the mild drama with applause.”…… thot the caption read kneels down. *whew*

The Nigerian Politician: Polite and Cunning
An act of respect or an act of ambition… history shows that many have done such prior to today with individual ambition being the primary motivator for such.
Men whose only philosophy is “more, more, more” what ever it takes.
a few examples are as follows:
Tinubu and Adebanjo (nadeco)
Mimiko was said to have done the same with Tinubu
Ndige did the same with Uba
Fashola with Tinubu
and a lot more we have no record off.
ATiku must be tryna come back in 2015! *yawns* Jona watch ur back!
Press failure again.
Where were the camera men?
It would have been the picture of the year
If the story is true, then i’ll say “well done Atiku” for display of maturity.
Mr. High cheekbones knows what he is doing. He is too power hungry. We are sure to see him and his black blush everywhere- just in time for the presidential elections.
Why was the crowd cheering? Nigerians will get excited over nothing. Even if Ebele is spotted at a circus juggling oranges, we will be rejoicing. We’re too easily impressed that’s why we will always be doormats to these people and to the foreigners.
Ever heard of the saying ” A rich man never makes dry jokes” ? …………As in what ever he says even if the jokes were dry, everyone will laugh in sycophancy
That’s what I get, when I make dry jokes! people just laugh in sycophancy expecting favours from me
who cares? BN please enough of these political articles and on Nigerians falling hand abroad.they have been too many of recent..sigh
Let me assume the news was real, do you have to kneel to show your political loyalty or respect?

Atiku is Nigeria’s most corrupt politician. I hope he says hello to his fellow halliburton fraud partner in jail.
What does he want? Presidency?
Only fools, will ever be fooled and remain fooled.
Lol @high cheek bones! I really laffed! N’to d’issue, abeg who cares o? Mscheeeew
I don’t know why it is taking some people so long to realize that Atiku is the next presido of Nija in 2015. Obj prostrated for him in 2002 and he knelt down for Obj in 2012 sheekenna. Afterall he is the most qualified for the office amongst all known aspirants as of today.
Obasanjo nd others need 2 be flush out of dis planet earth b4 dis country wil be better,
Living by example but when it is not extended to every thing then it is non sense
