ShowDemCampSo many have been asking ‘When are you going to feature Show Dem Camp on Bella Naija?’. The answer is NOW!
Show Dem Camp has just released a brand new video. Its for their song “Tell Me Nothin” which has been gaining traction on the radio over the last few weeks and now the video is set to take off on TV.
According to their official site, “Now preparing their debut album ‘Memoirs’ for release on their own record label (Show Dem Records) SDC have teamed up with artists as diverse as MOBO, MTV award winner Tuface Idibia and Nneka [for the project which is on schedule for a December 2009 release]. Testament to their prolific work ethic, they have also completed a collaborative album titled The Dreamers with a number of talented up and coming artists in the Nigerian music scene. Prominent artists like M.I and Sound Sultan have already contributed songs to the project, which they have described as a concept album projecting “a statement of empowerment to show people it is alright to dream and to chase those dreams without compromise.” This is the whole premise behind the name of their movement “Show Dem”

They are intent on showing Nigeria, Africa and eventually the world that something exceptional can arise from Nigeria nation desperate to improve its tarnished image”

I love it….they sound really good, the beat reminds me of the old R.kelly’s F***cking you tonite song. This is the first time hearing about this group or reading about them, but am not sure how a rap song that could be almost likened to the american artist prove to the world that something exceptional could come out of naija. I guess i was expecting a original beat from Naija or africa that could cross over.something like a fela’s beat crossing over to the america music chart or something..

you obviously dont listen to rap, because if you did you would KNOW that these two guys are up there with the best in the world. If its rap you dont like just say so. Rap more than any other genre when used prositively is a medium of expressing what you are going through, are have been through. so its real music. Also, the way the subject matter was dealt with reflects the intelligence and maturity of the artists.

You didnt even mention anything about the quality of the video, coming out of Nigeria as opposed to being shot in other countries.

These guys are obviously better than average and in my opinion can be compared to rappers all over the globe. I am so impressed.

Yo, just heard the song. Its alright but my advice to guys behind the track…you still got a lot of work to do if you want to compete against the best in the world. Do you thing and keep in mind that practice makes perfect. Peace!!
