Be A Part of Le Petit Marché in July & Check Out Photos from June’s LPM

Summer’s here! Ladies and gentlemen this is your chance to get some AMAZING finds at Nigeria’s favourite fashion and lifestyle market – Le Petit Marche before jetting off on holiday, or just enjoying all that Lagos has to offer!

LPM is taking stall reservations already, so if you would like to take part, please send us an email – LPMNIGERIA@GMAIL.COM

All vendors are given a display space where they present and sell their collections themselves. Vendors are selected according to the originality and quality of their products.

LPM has loads in store for our shoppers this month and as always it will be in our uber-fab new venue GET ARENA on the 25th of July 2010 from 12 noon till 6pm. GET is chock FULL of awesome offerings, what with their bar + grill, The G Lounge, GooniesKids, AND surrounded by the one of the most sophisticated Go-Karting tracks you will find anywhere, LPM has an enviably lively and fun ambience, ideal for shopping EVERY MONTH.

As was evidenced by our Fab-tastic market last month, The Urban Image Consultancy provided the most toe-curling free mini-facials and Blush Beauty gave out free makeovers, they have the most mind-boggling array of eye shadow, eyeliner and foundation colours (I personally recommend the Myth pencil eyeliner – its LUSH!). Our FAB designers were ever present – elegant Rouge Couture, fan fave Na’Tees and lots more. We had great shoes and accessories designers and retailers such as Stephens and Sarah’s (Made in Brazil), swanky MyRachels, LaBennis, firm favourite Accessories2die4 and the uber chic and girly Hermanas, 28TheBagCompany and much more, but don’t take our word for it, take a sneak peek at what it was like on’s HauTeTV.

LPM July 2010

Nice pics…i don’t get it though…so what are these events for again? I’ve been to a few…first there isn’t much worth buying and 2nd, beside people coming to network and **clears throat** show off (we all love to do that don’t we…Lol), what else are these events for?

Good work Bella…you know you keep some of us occupied with this lovely site of yours 🙂

  • omogekofo July 19, 2010 at 5:10 pm

thanks 4 letting us know…but the time frame is too short…y not two a month?

y dont they do discount for those of us who wants to buy everything but
    have money for some*wink*
    was thinking out loud.

  • THE AMAKA July 19, 2010 at 5:46 pm

Oyinda’s shoes are very interesting… lol

I love ChiChi’s outfit. its simple, although i would have worn heels with that.
    its cute yet comfortable.

**side comment: Nicole Chukwueke (pretty) is one person that I don’t think I’ve ever seen crack a smile. i guess she is too FIERCE for that.
    thanks bella!

  • aosgrl July 19, 2010 at 5:54 pm

Love the idea of the market. Feels like a cool saturday morning flea market browse. I hope they have one when I’m in Nigeria in December.

@Senayo , LOL, Every event for Nigerians is an opportunity to show off. We wouldn’t be Nigerians if we didn’t

  • bebe July 19, 2010 at 6:31 pm

is Nicole Chukwueke wearing £2 primark sandals? :p
not biffing her o, just being cheeky 😀

  • ThePoet July 19, 2010 at 9:26 pm

    Okiki and Nicole look fab.

  • DontMakeMeComeThere July 19, 2010 at 9:54 pm

Em, what’s wrong with E2 Primark sandals?

The truth is no one should have to rock expensive stuff to prove a
point (see: thrift shopping). Her style is what we can see. And it’s great!

  • tomiwa July 19, 2010 at 10:14 pm

@ bebe, i’m sure u have loads of it, for u to know them from afar off…or do u work in primark? lol. its not bout the price but bout the way she pulls off her look…btw, tolu onabanjo looks live still.

  • Firelexus July 19, 2010 at 10:58 pm

Saw Nicole once…she was effortlessly fierce…that’s a totally awesome hot bitch right there.
who gives a damn what it costs?

  • THE AMAKA July 19, 2010 at 11:57 pm

the new pose: have phone and bag in hand. lol

Tomi Olayinka: WHAT were you thinking when putting on those sandals? her feet are practically hanging off. not cool.

I like Bibi Coker. fly, yet effortless. and the hair being pulled back really works.

Eki Ogunbor: the first time I’ve seen someone have totally natural hair. she looks cute too.

    Modupe Olomu: Disaster.

    Ade Yussuf: DIGGIN’ HER STYLE

  • wow July 20, 2010 at 12:26 am

seriously Eki Ogunbor was the only one that looked like she was going shopping.Everyone else looked like they were baffed up just for the photo op…Damn… Some Naija girls never cease to amaze me.It is all a show..all a damn show!!!!SMH.Someone will kuku ma call me hater…but its all good.Bella sa keep the pics coming as always me i enjoy it.

btw-What the heck is the Modupe Olomu girl wearing???

  • wow July 20, 2010 at 12:40 am

this Lade Fadoju is a hot girl o!! she for just manage suck stomach in small…but i think she is HAWT

  • Grouch July 20, 2010 at 2:36 am

Beyonce is clearly the idol for Nigerian girls:
    1. Looks whack on the red carpet and decent on a day out
    2. Wear tons of weave
    3. (this one is more like Tiny & Toya) Carry your purse in such a way that
someone will identify the designer. lol

  • Dorah July 20, 2010 at 6:35 am

    Styling and Profiling…

  • Judith July 20, 2010 at 7:43 am

Bella without being rude and all but have u eva approached a ”random” person to get their photo taken. Y is it always d usual suspects we see on this site.

  • Princess July 20, 2010 at 9:25 am

When you wrote “Check out the pictures from June’s LPM” I assumed the pictures would be pictures of the stalls/goods/products, you know something to entice us to come for July’s LPM…..

  • Adaku July 20, 2010 at 10:26 am

Please who knows where I can get Oyinda Fakeye’s top? *the 2nd photo*

  • DUDU July 20, 2010 at 12:54 pm

@ princess i was thinking along those lines as well. So we know what products
we’re looking at, stall setups etc. Me thinks this is a mini fashion show. At least from the pics shown.

  • JPrat July 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm

Judith, I feel you but let’s be easy onBella that she features her friends. aT the end of the day she can only feature available events, which is better than nothing. I am sick to my stomach of the same weaveheads at all events too . Geez, do these girls have a life besides, rolling in a pack to all events? Sad thing is most of them don’t buy jack. They just come to show face and of course the new Prada handbag and clog the event space for those interested in buying. I was at the Life House events this weekend…needless to say i was rather cracking the heck up at the way the chic hosting the shopping and Networking event (No, not Zebra and nothing against Zebra Fashion, she is a nice and down to earth person and i don’t even know her from Adams) was only talking with the familiar faces and literally boning face to the unfamilar ones. Haba aunty shopper event, shebi na you wan sell market? Hehehhehe..Your friends no go buy everything there o so next time improve your customer service small and be cordial with new faces. Sogbo…relax please jowo  you know half of the things there we know where to buy them online…**wink wink** so chillax.

  • Africhic July 20, 2010 at 1:10 pm

I thought it was a market thingie, why the need for the red carpet. Could we not see items on display instead of people on display.

Naija…. i was planning to go there after church on sunday. If na red carpet i no dey oh!

  • aosgrl July 20, 2010 at 1:49 pm

i don’t know why you are all against these girls showing up looking their best. This is who we are and that is why fashion is such a big deal in Nigeria. If it wasn’t for the great pics of ladies in their best gear at other events, i doubt you guys would even click on the link. However Bella, there is some good feedback on there well.

More pics of random people at the events who put together great looks. And more profiles (if possible videos) of the “traders” at the show. When you take pics of random people would like to know what people are picking up at the market. i.e. what is trending up with the ladies.

  • OlufunmiLola July 20, 2010 at 3:51 pm

Everyone looks nice…LPM is always lovely…x

  • bebe July 20, 2010 at 5:29 pm

@ DontMakeMeComeThere and tomiwa: Knew people who didnt understand english will misinterprete the £2 sandals thingy. Dont have any issues with the £2sandals …… note the part i said ‘just being cheeky’
obviously, y’all don’t know what cheeky means!!

  • kaiza July 20, 2010 at 10:54 pm

Bella so far so good i love your site and all your articles but i must say this time am here to criticise this one time :),LPM is a market for heavens sake, you dont see news about portobello market and them doing red carpet,The wares and goods should be the focus,we are tired of you featuring all these girls that are so hungry for cheap press, not of all them in the pics are but most, they see you as a way to show off their outfits and bag etc,we dont mind seeing pics of the organizers of LPM and also some wares to entice us to come down and actually buy stuffs.

Now after all said and done let me give kudos to those that deserve it 😉
    Oyinda you rock,casual,simple and sweet

    Ngozi loves her glow

Tomi Olayinka, those sandals and pls invest in some orange peel skin cream before thinking of showing some leg………..

Nicole £2 slippers or not you still look good, you are not draped in showoff expensive stuff and yet you look better than ppl that have.

    thats all folks

  • Funke Majekodunmi July 21, 2010 at 2:49 am

@Adaku: You can order your NA’Tees t-shirt by sending an email to or

  • wow July 21, 2010 at 3:44 am

@ aosgrl, you have a point sa.I guess this LPM thingy is another opportunity to get dolled up and look nice.:-).

I however, am sure that there are many folks who do not buy anything.
I know someone who went to 9ja to launch her business & services and also sell products at the event. She was appalled by the behavior of Lagos girls. She said a lot of them were more concerned about getting their pictures taken. She also had random people tell her that her products were too cheap
and some were asking why she did not have products in the same priceline of
“Hermes”. These are girls that obviously cannot afford it but have to make up stupid shit like Hermes…Hermes ko..herpes ni.

  • Opium4dsoul July 21, 2010 at 3:18 pm

lol @ wow’s comment…I can just imagine that scenario

  • xxx July 21, 2010 at 3:46 pm

Lol. These girls looked so fly that y’all started imagining a red carpet and they are not even standing at the entrance. They are just random pics of stylish attendees. On the real though, most of these people don’t buy cuz they know where to get them for less: online or when they travel!!! People just go there to network and faff.

On the bright side for the re-re-retailers; last minute shoppers might remember that one hot number u had on display when they have an impromptu event to attend. 🙂

I am not big on the Lagos glam lifestyle, but I do appreciate our sense of style and dressing and on any given day even to chill at home; we keep the outfit game tight. I won’t join in, but won’t knock it either. To each her own…

  • mimithedivah July 21, 2010 at 5:34 pm

babes babes babes….too many familiar faces and a few not familiar but pretty faces.

  • Anonymus July 21, 2010 at 5:53 pm

    Eki Ogunbor looks stunning!

  • Fehintola July 21, 2010 at 7:49 pm

Lmao @ wow’s comment about chics asking for things thye can’t afford. hhahahhahhaha…abi, if they can’t buy what’s on the shelf that affordable, now $8K bag dem go come buy?

  • Sar July 21, 2010 at 8:31 pm

Err… if people weren’t buy stuff vendors won’t keep coming back. LPM vendor list has grown, just compare past events with recent ones. So please get your facts right…

  • mimithedivah July 22, 2010 at 12:38 pm

    Olamide Ladipo…..just like her simplicity

  • Ms. Jayee July 22, 2010 at 1:11 pm

….and nobody dropped a comment on the “only” visibly present male! shame!

  • aggie July 22, 2010 at 3:00 pm

The chic with the natural hair is gorgeous! So refreshing to see natural hair in a sea of faux hair!!!

  • liz July 22, 2010 at 3:33 pm

hawte! hawte!! nd teu hawte!!! Fashion evolved from naija…………..cept ‘t.

  • Lala July 23, 2010 at 2:58 am

Someone pls tell me what hair/braids Okiki Owuye is using…i need it in my life. Bella if you know…help a sista out.

  • Ifedioso July 23, 2010 at 12:49 pm
