i have a problem with the models these nigerian designers use for their look books. ok i get it cause she did antm (even tho they never have great models on that show) but is that what you are more concerned about or using a good model that will sell your cloths??? this look book is just so unflattering! and the model definitely didn’t help sorry…boring!

Loving the applique lace, neon and digiprints – thumbs up! And btw Aminat is absolutely gorgeous. Especially loving the volume sleeve blouse (last photo), I would toughen it up with a steam punk, neo Victorian edge if I was going to rock it.

i think Aminat is a great runway model, but its a different story when it comes to pictures. Looks like she is yet to fully address the main flaw Tyra et al identified during ANTM.

Baby lawyer so right . aminat is fierce as a runway model. But for look books or editorial..not so much…but I love her strut on the catwalk for sure…nice collection tho

Aminat is one of the best runway models to come out of that show and she regularly books gigs. Editorial, not so much her thing. However, she did come third (if my memory serves me right) and it wasn’t because of her runway walk. Based on the redundancy in her poses (she had only two or three poses) I think you blame this on the photographer/photo shoot director. Cos this must have been their vision. She’s got more in the tank than this. And we all know when it comes to Naija products, people tend to put in very little effort, yet get huge returns. She knew she didn’t have to try hard to earn her money.

She is not America’s Next Top Model, she was a contestant who lost not hating just saying. Love this wannabe Nigerian stars who don’t make it in America then run back to Nigeria claiming they are stars tooo funny.

Sola, Aminat is not back in Nigeria. She is still in the U.S. and doing very well on the runway. I’ve spotted her in several shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week every year since she was on. Lanre DaSilva just scooped her up for the shoot cos she always walked her show during the Arise showing. No one said she won. It merely stated she was a star on the show, which is true.

WOW… THE CLOTHES ARE REALLY GREAT.. LDA IS FANTATSIC AS USUAL BUT I DONT THINK THIS SO CALLED NEXT TOP MODEL CARRIED THIS WELL AT ALL..AND WHO DID THE MAKE-UP? THE AIRBRUSHING IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY. PICKING A MODEL IS NOT ALAYS ABOUT THE NAME AND THE AGENCY WHICH SHE’S UNDER.. TSK.. TSK… WHEN WILL NIGERIANS LEARN… CHIKA WOULD HAVE BEEN A FAR BETTER CHOICE!!!!!! HELL EVEN MAKIDA WOULD HAVE WORKED THIS BETTER!

The clothes are very nice, i would rock most especially those green and orange pieces but i have to say aminat didn’t do a good job in these pictures, and the photographer too, very disappointed, lanre is a good designer, and she is one of nigerias top designers, so she should be aiming for bigger things to help sell her products more!

Aminat is an excellent model. One of Tyra banks favourite in her time in Americas next top model. She has striking features and was given good feedbacks by the judges very often. Soo you guys chatting bull should go do ur research well on who she is and her progress soo far + get yourselves exposed a bit too.

The outfits are fabulous and out of this world but there’s something about this Model I just don’t get. She doesn’t carry any of the outfits well. Her poses are monotonous. I would have preferred the regular model Oby or maybe Chika or Opeyemi.

  23. irene

    October 25, 2011 at 2:09 pm

i really am not inspired to buy any of these clothes. very bland, lifeless poses. iv seen lanre’s other look books and her choice of model was always good. what happened? ANTM or not..these photos are blaah!

Nice outfits as always Lanre. Your materials are spectacular and unique.
I’m just not sure about your model though. Her face was bland and unassuming. Didnt seem like she was having much fun, or maybe our photographers aint like d one’s in yankee. I like ur previous model, the slim, fair skinned girl, Oby or so. She had fun and made me consider ur styles. Please stick with our naija babes or train this one to be a naija babe mehn (if possible) to have fun (i doubt).

Ohh so this is the Aminat babe! I saw her at arise fashion week and she was SO BAD! Maybe i just expected more to be honest, especially since it was arise. (PS: who’s the model that put up the peace sign at the deola sagoe show? NEGATIVE! >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJcRyaaw6qI, 2:55mins, and then the other one that decided to dance and blow kisses?!!> 8:51mins… anyway off point)
Unimpressed. That other oby girl that always models for her is much more exciting to look at.

  26. Jay

    October 25, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Sorry I just looked at the whole thing again.
She’s so lifeless! The clothes look so matronly the way she carries it.
Looks like someone starved her for a week and then forced her to wear the clothes before they could feed her. Hian!

Where’s Oby biko?? I had started to see her as the Carmen Kass to your Michael Kors. I mean this isn’t terrible, but Oby suits your brand. Bring her back!!

Love the shoot, but the hairstyle got redundant after a while. They should have switched it up for some outfits, sometimes its the entire look that sells not just the clothing.

Love her angles and poses. Think she brought out the beauty in the outfits. Think we should look at Aminat beyond her time at ANTM. She actually gets the poses better than the average Nigerian model. Not loving the fotoshops though…think it was a lil’ over overdone…LDA simply rocks!!!!!!!!!
