Wish the nominees the best but I think the organisers should do something about the awards’ categories.

Seriously….. Pop? Lol What happened to Best Afrobeats? What happened to May7ven “Ten Ten” May7ven has been reppin Afrobeats internationally she’s been on BBC 1xtra, Choice FM, performed at Dbanj and friends show in UK, performed at Afrobeats Last year etc…… These people didn’t do their research

    • Bunmi

      August 29, 2012 at 5:09 am

There is nothing like ‘Afrobeats’ in Nigeria. That’s what is considered as pop music. Nigerian pop music is called ‘Afrobeats’ in the UK. So that’s solved.

Sorry but what happened to Ms Jaie of storm records? Aka “Kilon poppin” Are we forgetting that she was trending as number 1 song on YouTube? Have these people heard her vocals? She has got an amazing voice, one of the best in Nigeria! This list is political…… Haha lol Only joking! It’s not political o! but seriously Ms Jaie should be on the list somewhere … Instead of “Best Pop” lol I didn’t know those songs were pop there should of been “best new upcoming artist”

    • Anon

      August 28, 2012 at 4:51 pm

Yeah she deserves the nomination. She achieved just as much as the male artists that were nominated and broke many boundaries for females this year. Pepsi endorsement, headliner on all top shows, followers on twitter, etc. people at the headies should stop being sexist

    • Anon

      August 28, 2012 at 4:56 pm

I also think her song with Don jazzy “without my heart” should have been on collaboration of the year. Apart from being a fan, I admire her and I don’t think she is getting the recognition she deserves.

What is this,9ice brought out 2 albums and he aint even in album of the year nomination. Why is naeto c there,2face has no nomination and i dnt get dbanj’s nomination o is dis abt popularity or music na wa .

  10. Dapo

    August 28, 2012 at 3:27 pm

Excuse me where is 9ice ft tiwa as collabo of the year.9ice dropped double album and he isnt even in album of the year and artiste of the year.Iceprince only had one hit in ELI the rest was trash!!!.Dbanj brought just one single how does that qualifies you as artiste of the year.Nigerian awards jst keep declinin every year, dey keep loosing their credibility.I think 9ice was way cheated in this nominatio as in,dis is more abt fame than music.Y’ll shld go nd here the pple who won grammy, ames i have nevr heard b4 in my life, it’s more abt the music nd not popularity.

  11. Annie

    August 28, 2012 at 3:42 pm

Lmao who nominated iceprince as album of the year and best rap album? u can as well nominate sina rambo. These awards sha dey nevr get it right every year

  13. Toks

    August 28, 2012 at 4:45 pm

FLAVOUR FT TIWA SAVAGE OYI REMIX like seriously this is not nominated as collabo of the year. The organizers of the headies are not serious

  14. Motun

    August 28, 2012 at 4:54 pm

I think the toughest category here is “song of the year” because all the songs are head banger this year and please what is the difference between song of the year and recording of the year?huh. Other categories are lame because the winners are quite predictable, like you dont know already….

  15. chidi

    August 28, 2012 at 4:56 pm

hiii guys plsss stop hatin, the headies awards nominees is from march 2011 to february 2012,respect to 2baba but no b every year 2face go dey win award,2face won last yr dis time around na psquare nd bez turn, dbanj oliver twist audio was popular last year dats why he was nominated,if he wins he should thank donjazzy for producing it,no p about the headies.

    August 28, 2012 at 5:15 pm

Super C Season came out two years ago, if they wanna cheat at these awards, at least do it with sense.
And a lot of nominations here don’t make sense abeg. I’m an ice prince fan but that his album does not deserve that many nominations, same thing for p square

  17. Dee-USA

    August 28, 2012 at 5:36 pm

Is anyone ever clear on the actual timeframe being considered? Surely it can’t be from the beginning of 2012 cos we are still in August. But I’ve watched M.I. 2 be passed on by so many awards. Yet Ice Prince’ album gets nominated everywhere. What is the actual screening process? Never mind…why bother?

9ice nominated in the R&B/pop album? Olu Maintain nominated for R&B single? Timi Dakolo in hip hop world revelation of the year? Err…am I missing something or do the organizers/screeners not know how to get their genres/categories right? Again, why bother?

  18. temmy

    August 28, 2012 at 6:43 pm

the organizers shud do sum tin bout d nominees, 9ice shud definitely be in d album of d year category, his album bashorun gaa was great! dunno y naeto C is on d list, his album is old nd his songs r nt waoh!

  19. bolaji

    August 28, 2012 at 10:08 pm

ignorance!!..some of the people u ppl are mentioning are not here simply because the rules state an artist can only be nominated if they put out their music between march 2011 and february 2012. are u ppl ok now?….rubbish

    • The Kinkster

      August 29, 2012 at 8:42 am

Oh that’s the period? I wonder why Naeto C’s Super C season is doing there then. It was released Jan/Feb’ 11, great album though it is

@Chidi,u started off well with ur comments but i must tell u that u goofed by stating that D’banj shld thank Don Jazzy if he wins????Like seriously???R u kidding me?So evryone who wins shld thank their producers abi?If so,y didn’t u sound neutral by stating so as opposed to u being negatively biased towards D’banj????Okay nau,if D’banj shld thnk Don Jazzy when he wins the award,Don Jazzy himself shld thnk D’banj for winning the future award he won some 3days ago!My dear, leave ur beef for D’banj and face facts….D’banj frm the word ‘go’ is a star in evry sense whether u and ur likes think he’s a great singer or not.A star quality is God given regardless of talent since many ppl don’t even understand the complexity of the word TALENT!
@Annie,Tuface doesn’t av to be nominated evru year darling! He’s not the best hun’ plus music is relative and more importantly, not evryone gets the same satisfaction frm music in totality regardless of whom the artist in question is.Plus Tuface wld put the award amongst his kids toy racks???Indeed darling.P’Square have won so many awards and ofcourse D’banj in particular has won practically evry award Tuface has won so they can as well put their own awards on their kids toy racks too…..*smile*
    @Bolaji,ur head is VERY correct!
